<![CDATA[This research aimed to know the effectiveness of implementation of guided discovery learning model towards student's understanding of mathematical concepts. This research used one group pre-test post-test design. The population of this research was all grade 8th students of SMPN 17 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2014/2015 that was distributed into 10 classes. The sample of this research was students of VIII G class who was chosen by purposive sampling technique. The result of analysis of data showed that guided discovery learning model could increase student's understanding of mathematical concepts but the percentage of student who reached the mastery learning was not more than 75%.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model guided discovery learning terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pre-test post-test design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 17 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdistribusi dalam sepuluh kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIG yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa penerapan model guided discovery learning dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa namun persentase siswa yang mencapai ketuntasan belajar tidak lebih dari 75%.Kata kunci: efektivitas, guided discovery, pemahaman konsep matematis]]>
