Abstract

Learning mathematics has become a necessity, given that mathematics always experiences development especially in the process of thinking following developments in the world of technology. Learning mathematics skillfully will be able to give birth to students who can be facilitated in their ability to think critically, creatively, systematically and logically. Critical thinking is the ability of a person to carry out activities in an organized manner to achieve deeper understanding in a more perfect direction. In facilitating students' critical thinking skills, problem-based learning can be used. Problem-based learning (Problem Based Learning) is a learning that makes the problem as the basis. PBL provides opportunities for students to develop their critical thinking skills. This research is an experimental study involving 2 banjit vocational high school students. In this research problem-based mathematics learning is applied in an effort to improve students' mathematical critical thinking skills on mathematical logic material. Based on the results of the analysis of the discussion data it was concluded that there was an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills from cycle I to cycle II.

Abstract

Hasil belajar siswa yang rendah merupakan wujud dari berbagai masalah yang muncul dari kegiatan pembelajaran. Proses pembelajaran yang tidak sesuai dengan metode pembelajaran akan sangan berdampak pada hasil belajar siswa. Oleh sebab itu penerapan metode pembelajaran oleh guru harus sesuai dengan materi pelajaran yang hekdak diajarkan agar hasil belajar yang dilakukan akan mendapat hasil yang maksimal. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), peneliti bertindak sebagai pendidik dan pendidik mata pelajaran sebagai observer. Pembelajaran dilakukan selama 2 siklus dengan 6 kali pertemuan. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis, lembar observasi untuk mengamati aktivitas siswa dan metode dokumentasi, serta wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dari penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa dengan penerapan metode Team Game Tournament hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I sampai siklus II. Siklus I hasil belajar siswa mencapai ketuntasan 65% pada siklus II mencapai 80,75%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Team Game Tournament dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Peningkatan ini merupakan implikasi dari peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa. Pendidik merasa puas atas penerapan metode Team Game Tournament, dan siswa merasa lebih bersemangat dalam mengikuti Pembelajaran. Peneliti menyarankan untuk sekolah agar memberikan motivasi kepada para pendidik untuk dapat menerapkan Team Game Tournament, khususnya pada matapelajaran yang berhubungan dengan praktik pengalaman belajar
