Abstract

Curriculum 2013 integrates High-Order-Thinking Skills in the learning process. In primary schools, it has been implemented in 3rd and 6th grade. The activities require students to explore their higher level of thinking in viewing cases. Yet, teachers are not ready to develop any assessment integrated with HOTS, even for cognitive aspects. This research aims to develop a HOTS-based cognitive assessment instrument for third grade students of elementary school. The instrument consists of criteria, questions, answer keys, and scoring guidelines. It is a Research and Development (R&D) with Four-D model: define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, it is only conducted until the third step due to the Covid-19 Crisis. Four experts with major in elementary education studies are assigned as reviewers. The results show that it is developed by using Four-D model. It is also considered to be very valid based on five indicators such as design (0.8), diction and grammar (0.94), content suitability (0.88), completion (0.89), and practicality (0.81). Hence, it is suggested to be used with minor revisions.

Abstract

Abstract:The 2009 Permenpan-RB on Sustainable Professional Development is not only aimed at PNS teachers but teachers in general. Members of the GTT-PTT Honorary Staff Forum at Secang District have a strong desire to be able to arrange the classroom action research (CAR). However, this desire is constrained by the limited opportunities given to them attending CAR training. Most of them do not have enough knowledge about CAR preparation. In addition to being unfamiliar with research methods, they also lack knowledge of how to plan and compile their reports. Seeing this problem, this dedication activity became a concrete effort to help teachers, especially members of the Secang GTT-PTT Honorary Forum at Secang District, to provide training and mentoring for the preparation of CAR increasing the knowledge about CAR development. This community service was carried out within 4 months. This activity was attended by 25 participants. The method of activities carried out to resolve partner problems was through training and mentoring divided into 5 meetings at the SDN 2 Secang hall. Material presented at the first meeting were: (1) PTK concept; (2) preparation of background, problem identification and formulation of topics and problems; (3) looking for sources of reference related to the topic, as well as the design of the CAR implementation; (4) preparation of results and discussion; and (5) finalization of the report.        Keywords:Community Services, Training, Action Research  Abstrak: Permenpan-RB Tahun 2009 tentang Pengembangan Keprofesian Berkelanjutan (PKB) tidak hanya ditujukan kepada guru PNS saja namun guru secara umum. Anggota Forum Tenaga Honorer GTT-PTT Kecamatan Secang memiliki keinginan yang kuat untuk mampu menyusun PTK. Namun, keinginan tersebut terkendala dengan terbatasnya kesempatan yang diberikan kepada mereka untuk mengikuti pelatihan PTK. Sebagian besar dari mereka tidak memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup mengenai penyusunan PTK. Selain awam dengan metode penelitian, mereka juga tidak memiliki pengetahuan tentang bagaimana merencanakan dan menyusun laporannya. Melihat masalah tersebut, kegiatan pengabdian ini menjadi upaya konkret dalam membantu guru terutama anggota Forum Tenaga Honorer GTT-PTT Kecamatan Secang untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan penyusunan PTK dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang penyusunan PTK. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam waktu 4 bulan. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 25 peserta. Metode kegiatan yang dilaksanakan guna menyelesaikan permasalahanmitra adalah dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan yang dibagi menjadi 5 pertemuan bertempat di aula SDN 2 Secang. Materi yang disampaikan dalam pertemuan pertama adalah: (1) konsep PTK; (2) penyusunan latar belakang, identifikasi masalah serta perumusan topik dan masalah; (3) mencari sumber rujukan terkait topik, serta desain pelaksanaan PTK; (4) penyusunan hasil dan pembahasan; dan (5) finalisasi laporan. Kata kunci : Pengabdian Masyarakat, Pelatihan, Ptk

Abstract

Abstract: Based on data from Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Magelang in July 2018, the highest number of teachers is in group of  IV / a. One of the influencing factors is their reluctance to make scientific publications for the promotion. They do not have enough information about the journal to be addressed, do not yet understand what must be stated in a scientific article, systematics of writing, and how to make a bibliography. The online process is also one of the things they find difficult. The purpose of community service is to improve the ability of teachers to write scientific articles. Partners in this activity were 12 elementary and junior high school teachers in Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Magelang. The implementation time is 4 months consisting of 3 training sessions and following assistance. The material presented during the training included (1) scientific articles in the ranks of teachers, (2) reference managers, and (3) article submissions. The results of the training showed that all participants increasingly understood how to use scientific articles for promotion. In addition, 58% of participants are more aware and able to use the reference manager in Ms Office Word. In the third material, 67% of participants understood and were able to register and submit articles in the Paedagogie Journal. Keywords: scientific articles, training, scientific publications, classroom action research Abstrak: Berdasarkan data dari Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Magelang pada bulan Juli 2018, jumlah terbanyak guru berada pada golongan IV/a. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah keengganan mereka dalam membuat publikasi ilmiah untuk kenaikan pangkat. Mereka tidak memiliki informasi yang cukup mengenai jurnal yang akan dituju, belum memahami apa yang harus dituangkan dalam sebuah artikel ilmiah, sistematika penulisan, serta cara membuat daftar pustaka. Proses online juga menjadi salah satu hal yang mereka anggap sulit. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menulis artikel ilmiah. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah 12 orang guru SD dan SMP di lingkungan Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayan di Kota Magelang. Waktu pelaksanaan yakni 4 bulan terdiri dari 3 kali pelatihan dan ikuti pendampingan. Materi yang disampaikan pada saat pelatihan antara lain (1) artikel ilmiah dalam kepangkatan guru, (2) reference manager, dan (3) article submission. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta semakin memahami bagaimana memanfaatkan artikel ilmiah bagi pengajuan kenaikan pangkat. Selain itu, 58% peserta semakin paham dan mampu cara menggunakan reference manager pada Ms Office Word. Pada materi ke-3, sebanyak 67% peserta memahami dan mampu untuk registrasi dan submit artikel pada Jurnal Paedagogie. Kata kunci: artikel ilmiah, pelatihan, publikasi ilmiah, penelitian tindakan kelas

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of of Teams Games Tournament (TGT)learning model with monopoly game media on mathematical logic intelligence in grade VStudent of SD Negeri Keji 2, Muntilan District, Muntilan Regency.This type of research is pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design.The sample taken in class V SD Negeri Keji 2 with a total of 18 students.The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. Test data analysis usingprerequisite test or normality test and hypothesis testing. Data retrieval through multiplechoice test questions was then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test in the SPSS 23.00 programfor windows.The results showed that the Teams Games Tournamnet learning model withmonopoly game media had an effect on students mathematical logis intelligence. This isevidenced by the results of the analysis of the Wilcoxon signed rank test analysis of-3.732with Asymp. Sig 2 tailed is 0,000 < 0,005. So that Z output < mean rank or 3,732 < 9,50 Hais accepted and Ho is rejected. The data identify the data points are smaller than theaverage. Based on the result of the analysis the and discussion, there are differences inthe in the results of the average value, namely the initial measurement (pretest) of 41,3and the final measurement (posttest) of 73,1. From the results of the study it can beconcluded that the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model with monopoly gamemedia has an effect on students mathematical logic intelligence.

Abstract

Reading has an important social role in human life. Reading is not only a necessity forstudents, but also the needs of everyone. Through reading, knowledge can be obtained. Inessence, reading is a bridge to understanding how big the world is. However, in the 21stcentury, it is not the ability to read students, but the lack of interest in reading, be ittextbooks or other books. This is due to the students' lack of understanding of the textsthey read, lack of vocabulary mastery including not understanding how to read well inaccordance with the objectives to be achieved. This article aims to identify ways to increaseelementary students' reading interest. The benefits of this article are knowing theimportance of increasing reading interest, understanding the functions and benefits ofreading, as well as the factors that hinder students' reading interest, along with the roleof parents, teachers, librarians, and the government.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of image assisted modeling method to improve poetry reading skills of fourth grade students at SDN Tampirkulon 2, Candimulyo Sub-District, Magelang Regency. The research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were fourth grade students of SDN Tampirkulon 2, Candimulyo District, Magelang Regency, consisting of 3 students. This research used the research design of Prof. Suharsimi Arikunto. Methods of data collection were observation and performance test. The data analysis method used was qualitative and descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that the implementation of image assisted modeling method is able to improve poetry reading skills of fourth grade students at SDN Tampirkulon 2, Candimulyo Sub-District, Magelang Regency. It can be seen from the improved results of each cycle which and the achievement of indicators of success. In the first cycle, the percentage of classical completeness was 33% or 1 out of 3 students completed with an average value of 70.8. While in the second cycle there was an increase in the students' poetry reading performance score, in which 67% or 2 out of 3 students completed with an average score of 79.2.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penggunaan metode fun learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung kelas II A SDN Percobaan 2 Depok, Sleman pada mata pelajaran matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Desain penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 siklus, masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus - Desember tahun 2023 di SDN Percobaan 2 Depok, Sleman  kelas II A dengan jumlah 27 siswa pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2023/2024. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes, observasi siswa dan guru, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan hasil perhitungan skor pretest (pra siklus) dan post test siklus I dan siklus II siswa kelas II A SDN Percobaan 2 Depok, Sleman.. Kemampuan berhitung  matematika siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan dengan menggunakan metode fun learning berbantuan media TOBUKA (Tutup Botol Angka) di kelas II A SDN Percobaan Depok, Sleman  pada semester ganjil  tahun pelajaran 2023/2024 mengalami peningkatan ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa dari pra siklus sebesar 37,03%, siklus I sebesar 59,25%, dan siklus II menjadi sebesar 92,59%. Jadi, metode fun learning sangat tepat digunakan dalam sebuah pembelajaran di kelas yang pasif dan kemampuan berhitung  siswa yang rendah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain and Create) learning model with the Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) Method on the Reading Comprehension Skills of Grade IV Students of MI Muhammadiyah Paremono Mungkid. Type of quasi-experimental research (Quasi Experimental Research). Sample selection using the Purposive Sampling technique. The sample of this study is all students of grades IVA and IVB of MI Muhammadiyah Paremono with 23 students in each class. Data collection instruments are in the form of tests and observations. The instrument is tested for validity by experts and tested with the help of SPSS Statistic 25 and its reliability test. Data analysis includes Shapiro Wilk normality test and Hypothesis Test using Paired Sample T-Test and Independent Sample T-Test assisted by SPSS Statistic 25. The results of the study showed that the RADEC (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain and Create) model with the Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) Method on the Reading Comprehension Skills of Grade IV Students of MI Muhammadiyah Paremono Mungkid. This can be proven through the results of the analysis in the Paired Sample T-Test which produced a Sig.(2-tailed) of 0.000<0.05. The results showed that the average score of the pretest results was 50, increasing after the posttest the average score to 75.4. Therefore, the RADEC learning model with the Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) Method has a positive effect on Students' Reading Comprehension Skills.

Abstract

Writing an English essay requires complex abilities, such as critical thinking and academic writing. Nevertheless, it seems to be an obstacle to developing essay writing skills. Besides they are using a foreign language, the learning activities did not accommodate their personal traits and learning styles. This study aims to find out the profile of PGSD students’ Multiple Intelligence (MI) and the effect of MI-based learning activities on their essay-writing skills. This experimental research was conducted at Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang in 2020. Furthermore, 60 out of 160 fourth-semester students at the Elementary School Teacher Education Department were involved as the sample. The primary data were obtained through tests supported by observation and interviews. The data were distributed to be normal and homogenous. Based on the statistical data analysis of the Independent t-test, Sig. (2-tailed) was 0.900 > 0.05. The average scores of the Experimental Group post-test also indicate higher than the one of the control group post-test scores. It concludes that MI-based activities influenced students’ essay-writing skills. The results could be a beneficial reference in promoting students’ essay-writing skills in higher education.

Abstract

Teaching material is important to be applied in the teaching and learning process. It is supposed to be related to the student’s needs and traits. Nevertheless, there are several appropriateness of worksheet compiling as supporting material. The research in this paper attempted to find out the need for Multiple Intelligence-based student’s worksheet developments and offer possible recommendations. It employed a qualitative approach and involved 13 English teachers as respondents. They were from selected elementary schools located in various regencies in Central Java. A set of questionnaires was administered and delivered online through Google Forms. It is provided a number of closed and open-ended questions related to the existing curriculum, competency, media and activities, students’ characters, and challenges in compiling the student’s worksheet. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The results reveal that there was a lack of compulsory curriculum and competency, appropriate activities, and environmental interactions. Thus, it is recommended for teachers to take a well-planned curriculum; various activities connected to parental supports, realia, digital tools; and students’ personal traits in developing students’ worksheets. It is a reference to promote a better quality of Teaching English to Young Learners.
