Abstract

The play grounds and green parks in Malang was developed until nowadays in the effort of enhancement the environment in Malang. With improving of the quality of services of that public area, it will increase the achievement of visitor satisfaction and their perception about its function.  The research was conducted to evaluate the existing condition in Malang City Park, to analyze the  perception of the visitors to the utilization play grounds in the city and to formulate the recommendations in improving the play ground for the conservation of natural enemies. For these purposes, questionnaires were developed and it was interviewed to the visitors of the play ground as respondents. Data collected were analyzed using Gap Analysis compared to the ideal of green park as play ground according to the governance criteria. Based on research results, most of the visitors were satisfy with the play ground, but their perception to its function were no so clear. By implementing some suggestion of the stakeholders (University and Non-Governmental Organization) almost all of the criteria of ideal green open space were already similar with its from the government. The improvement in the educational characters of the play ground and be considered for the ideal multifunction play ground in Malang City.Keywords: multi function, play ground, visitor perception

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang is a recognizable Moslem Boarding School in Jombang which is occupied by 4,560 students. It involves 3,230 males and 1,530 females. Empowerment is needed in terms of social, economic and culture. The most dominant issue is the cleanliness or sanitation of the environment of boarding school or of the students. Both are classical issues at Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang. Environment sanitation is emphasized on skin health due to the risk of scabies disease. Location of research is Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang. The object of research includes all staffs, employees, leaders and students of Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang. The ultimate goal of this research is to formulate the model of human resource empowerment at Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang to support sustainable environmental management for scabies disease prevention. Data are analyzed using a model of generalized structure component analysis (GesCA). Based on the result of research and discussion, it is concluded that Organization factor is influential directly, but insignificantly, to environmental sustainability. Organization factor is influential indirectly but significantly, through human resource empowerment, to environmental sustainability freed from scabies disease. Abstract

Ecotourism is the fastest growing sector in the global tourism industry and provides for environmental conservation, socio-economic development, cultural preservation, employment and empowerment of indigenous people of ecotourism destinations. This study seeks to find the socio-economic and environmental sustainability of ecotourism practices in Ubud Monkey Forest-Bali under the three dimensions of sustainable development; economic progress, environmental protection and conservation, and socio-cultural preservation. Both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies used with the following conduct: (1) Questionnaire administration, (2) Interviews, and (3) Observations. Data was analized using Content Analysis and Multidimensional scaling (MDS) techniques to describe: (1) the susainabiliti of ecotourism in Is ecotourism in Ubud Monkey Forest (2) sustainability index of each of the dimensions under study in Ubud Monkey Forest, and (3) describes the level of sensitivity of sustainability of each dimension in Ubud Monkey Forest. The Kite Diagram of Sustainability Analysis presents that the sustainability status of all the used dimension which classified as sustain. The overall sustainability status of ecotourism is sustainable with an index of 76.49. The most sustainable dimension is education and recreation, while the least is the participation dimension. It shows that the dimensions under study support sustainability in ecotourism. The results of this study confirmed that within the parameters of the study, the forest maintained an ecological balance, socio-economic advancement, and cultural preservation. Ecotourism has high attraction potentials for both tourist and local businesses while impacting less on the culture, environment and the traditional practices of the Balinese people. Notwithstanding, there is a general problem of land-use change and waste management in Bali. Keywords: Ecotourism, Environment, Monkey Forest, Socio-economic, Sustainability.
