Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat mastitis pada sapi lubang dot. Bahan yang digunakan adalah 30 ekor sapi menyusui dan metode yang digunakan adalah survey langsung ke lapangan dan melakukan pengukuran lubang dot setelah pemerahan, kemudian ditambahkan 2 ml sampel susu ke dalam CMT dan perlahan diputar horizontal selama 10-15 detik. Pengamatan campuran reaksi dari sampel susu dengan tingkat mastitis CMT reagen akan ditentukan berdasarkan tingkat konsistensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adalah koefisien determinasi (R²) dari 32.97%, dapat diartikan bahwa tingkat kejadian mastitis dipengaruhi oleh ukuran puting diameter lubang dengan 32.97%. Sebagian besar tingkat kejadian mastitis dipengaruhi oleh sanitasi perumahan, memerah waktu, perumahan kebersihan dan peralatan yang digunakan. Analisis varians dari hasil tersebut dapat dilihat bahwa ada efek yang berbeda secara signifikan. Kesimpulannya adalah lebih besar diameter lubang dot itu akan selalu diikuti oleh tingkat yang lebih tinggi dari mastitis yang hubungan positif antara kedua variabel dengan koefisien korelasi ( r ) dari 0.282 .Kata Kunci : Mastitis, California Mastitis Test, Lubang putingRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TEAT HOLE DIAMETER ON THE LEVEL OF MASTITIS OCCURRENCEABSTRACTPurpose of the study was to determine the level of mastitis in cows teat hole. The material used was 30 lactating cows and method used was survey directly to the field and do the teat hole measurements after milking,then added 2 ml of the milk sample into the CMT and slowly rotated horizontally for 10-15 seconds. Observation of the reaction mixture of milk samples with CMT reagent mastitis levels will be determined based on the level of consistency.Results showed that was coefficient of determination (R²) of 32.97%, can be interpreted that the level of incidence of mastitis affected by the size of the nipple hole diameter by 32.97%. Most of the level of incidence of mastitis affected by housing sanitation, milking time, hygiene housing and used equipment.Analysis of variance of the results it can be seen that there was a significantly different effect. The conclusion was the larger diameter teat hole it will always be followed by the higher levels of mastitis that was a positive relationship between the two variables with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.282.Keywords: Mastitis, California Mastitis Test, Teat Hole Diameter

Abstract

This research was conducted in the laboratory of Bacteriology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Brawijaya Malang. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of cherry leaf methanol extract on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria causing subclinical mastitis in dairy cows. Materials used in this research were Staphylococcus aureus, cherry leaf methanol extract, cherry leaf water extract and iodips. The method used in this research is experiment with a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The results showed that the cherry leaf methanol extract, with a concentration of 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% have an influence on the growth inhibitory Staphylococcus aureus. Cherry leaf methanol extract has no significant difference (P> 0.05) with a cherry leaf water extract and iodips as antimicrobial substances, so it can be used as a natural antimicrobial substance to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria causing subclinical mastitis.   Key word : cherry leaf, methanol extract, Staphylococcus aureus and mastitis

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara bahan dantingkat kebersihan lantai kandang terhadap kejadian mastitis pada sapi perah. Materi yangdigunakan dalam penelitian adalah peternakan sapi perah laktasi yang berjumlah 60 ekor yangmenggunakan bahan lantai kandang bambu, kayu dan karet. Metode yang digunakan adalahmetode studi kasus, penentuan lokasi dan materi menggunakan multi state sampling, denganmenggunakan 2 tahap yaitu purposive sampling dan random sampling. Data dianalisis denganregresi linier berganda untuk mengetahui hubungan bahan dan tingkat kebersihan lantai kandangterhadap kejadian mastitis. Persamaan regresi dan korelasi berganda diuji dengan r productmoment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan korelasi antara bahan dan tingkat kebersihan lantaikandang terhadap kejadian mastitis (r)= bambu -0,68, kayu -0,92 dan karet -0,95 dan koefisiendeterminasi antara bahan dan tingkat kebersihan lantai kandang terhadap kejadian mastitis (R²)=bambu 46%, kayu 85% dan karet 90%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan yangmemiliki permukaan yang masif, mempermudah dalam pembersihan dan diperoleh kejadianmastitis rendah. Semakin tinggi tingkat kebersihan lantai kandang maka mastitis akan semakinrendah. Berdasarkan kesimpulan yang didapatkan maka diharapkan peternak dapat lebih selektifdalam memilih bahan lantai kandang, agar mudah dalam membersihkan, dan memiliki daya tahanyang lama. Peternak juga harus selalu menjaga kebersihan lantai kandang dan ternak agar tidakterkontaminasi oleh mikroorganisme patogen.Kata kunci : Bahan, kandang, kebersihan dan mastitis

Abstract

A research on the antibacterial ability of ethanol extract (Muntingia calabura L.) and its concentration effect on bacteria Streptococcus agalactiae growth was investigated in this experiment. Several tests were conducted by the inhibition of diffusion Kirby-Bauer method using a Completely Randomized Design with 6 treatments and 4 replication. Ethanol extract concentrations were varied into 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and water extract 20% and Iodips 10% (as control). The research showed that ethanol extract (Muntingia calabura L.) had ability to hinder significantly the growth of Streptococcus agalactiae bacteria (P<0.05). The highest action was found on 40% concentration, namely 7,01 mm and the lowest action was on water extract 20% concentration namely 6,00 mm. Higher concentration of the ethanol extract Muntingia calabura leaves also increased its ability to hinder the growth of Streptococcus agalactiae. It can be concluded that the increasing concentration of ethanol extract Muntingia calabura leaf showed high inhibition diameter of Streptococcus agalactiae. It can be suggested that ethanol extract of Muntingia calabura L. can be used by farmers to prevent mastitis.   Keywords : Inhibition ability, Streptococcus agalactiae, ethanol extract, Muntingia calabura
