Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic has become an international concern. Policies to prevent the spread of disease, such as learning from home, are applied to university students. The present study examines the risk assessment in relation to physical, mental, and psychosocial condition of Indonesian students toward COVID-19 and learning from home. This study involves 838 Indonesian students. A questionnaire consisting of demographic data and constructs from a comprehensive literature study regarding COVID-19 related issues and learning from home issues was developed. Most Indonesian student respondents have a good knowledge of COVID-19 and have received accurate information from the government. The anxiety level during COVID-19 is mild. In relation to physical condition, most students reported musculoskeletal symptoms in the neck, shoulder, and back areas. The respondents conduct preventive behavior against COVID-19 spread, with lack of physical exercise. In relation to mental and psychosocial condition. In relation to mental and psychosocial condition, respondents report moderate mental workload and proper social support from lecturers and friends. In conclusion, most Indonesian university students have a good knowledge and proper attitudes toward COVID-19 and learning from home, which are important in combating and passing through the pandemic.

Abstract

There are a lot of baby carrier types commonly found in Indonesia. Aside from the massively produced baby carriers with modern shapes and features, the traditional ‘kain jarik’ baby carriers are still an option to mothers in Indonesia. The research was conducted to evaluate the subjective perception of the consumers in choosing to use a baby carrier. An evaluation was done to see the factors that influence consumers to choose a certain product and their correlations to the products’ designs. Kansei engineering is used as a method to identify the emotional perception of a consumer to a baby carrier by means of a questionnaire involving 525 respondents. The identification process results in several Kansei words that were grouped and used as a stimulus to the questionnaires meant to evaluate 4 samples of baby carriers commonly used in Indonesia. The result showed that there are 3 main factors that encouraged consumers to pick a baby carrier, which are comfort, design, and material. Based on those 3 factors, consumers gave their highest scores to a kangaroo or wrap baby carriers.

Abstract

Food waste is a major global problem and has prompted the development of digital solutions such as food waste mobile applications (FWMA). However, factors influencing the user adoption of these applications, especially in developing countries, remain unexplored. The purpose of this study is to analyze existing behavior towards FWMA and modeling factors that influence acceptance of FWMA in the developing country - Indonesia, while also observing efforts to improve its effectiveness and user satisfaction. To achieve this, an acceptance model is developed using the Extended Unified Acceptance and Use Theory 2 (UTAUT2 Extended) model. Moreover, the Importance-Performance Matrix Analysis (IPMA) framework is used to identify areas for improvement and prioritize efforts to increase customer satisfaction in the application of the FWMA. A preliminary sample of 79 respondents completed an online questionnaire consisting of 30 questions and using a five-point Likert scale with anchor values of strongly agree and strongly disagree. The results show that the average frequency of purchases made by respondents via the FWMA system is relatively low, i.e., three or less per month, and that the majority of respondents learnt about the FWMA system from social media and their friends. As far as demographic data is concerned, women are more likely to use the FWMA than men. In particular, according to the UTAUT2 Extended Model, factors influencing satisfaction with the use of FWMA include social influence, habit and trust; furthermore, satisfaction and different food choices influence the intention to use the use of FWMA. Finally, the IPMA results reinforce the focus on increasing satisfaction through diversified food choices by providing a framework for developers and policy makers to support the uptake of the FWMA in developing economies by building trust, promoting habits and strategically increasing food diversity.
