Abstract

Abstract. This study seeks to get out of mainstream thinking in environmental studies that are based on Eurocentric logic. Mainstream studies emphasize the "secular" pattern of "universal" environmental ideologies. There are few works that try to explore the idea of saving the environment based on local wisdom and local religious traditions. This study would like to provide another perspective that the environmental struggle can be upheld by based on religious ideas that grow in Indonesia which are sharpened by the tradition of environmental movements that arise in the Western context (specifically the green Marxism movement). The process of dialogue between the East and West cultures was evident from the presence of the FNKSDA (Nahdliyin Front for the Sovereignty of Natural Resources) which was initiated by the Nahdliyin youth. FNKSDA can be interpreted as a concrete form of "dialogue" in the traditions of Nahdliyin and Marxism, especially regarding the commitment to preserve the environment from the threat of capitalism. This movement itself has a praxis tendency, meaning that it not only cares about the design of environmental ideologies but also seeks to carry out environmental advocacy processes in various vulnerable areas. The model of this dialogue, for example, can be found in a variety of FNKSDA activities that do not use old typical of Nahdliyin such as "Ngaji", "Fikih" but also dialogue with Western terms such as capitalism, internal contradictions of Capitalism and Marxism. Key Words: FNKSDA, Environmental Theology, Green Marxism, Religious Environmental movement. Abstrak: Studi ini berupaya keluar dari corak berfikir mainstream dalam studi lingkungan yang berpijak pada logika Eurosentris. Studi mainstream  dimana lebih menekankan pada ideologi lingkungan "universial" yang bercorak "sekuler". Sedikit karya yang mencoba lebih menggali ide penyelamatan lingkungan yang lebih berbasis pada kearifan lokal dan tradisi keagamaan lokal. Studi ini ingin memberikan prespektif lain bahwa perjuangan lingkungan bisa ditegakkan dengan berfondasi pada ide keagamaan yang tumbuh di indonesia yang dipertajam dengan tradisi gerakan lingkungan yang muncul dalam konteks Barat (secara spesifik gerakan Marxisme hijau). Proses dialog kultur Barat-Timur tersebut itulah yang nampak dengan hadirnya gerakan FNKSDA (Front Nahdliyin untuk Kedaulatan Sumber Daya Alam) yang diinisasi oleh kalangan muda Nahdliyin. FNKSDA dapat dimaknai sebagai wujud konkrit “dialog” tradisi Nahdliyin dan Marxisme, terkhusus mengenai komitmen menjaga kelestarian lingkungan dari ancaman kapitalisme. Gerakan ini sendiri punya tendensi praxis, artinya tidak hanya hirau terhadap rancang bangun ideologi lingkungan tetapi juga berupaya melakukan proses advokasi lingkungan di berbagai wilayah rentan. Corak dialog ini misalnya dapat ditemukan dalam berbagai kegiatan FNKSDA yang tidak lupus menggunakan term khas kaum Nahdliyin seperti “Ngaji”, “Fikih” tetapi juga mendialogkannya dengan istilah Barat seperti term Kapitalisme, kontradiksi internal Kapitalisme, dan Marxisme. Kata Kunci: FNKSDA; Teologi Lingkungan; Marxism Hijau; Gerakan Lingkungan Beragama.

Abstract

This article seeks to critically examine the performances of Ramayana as one of the cultural attractions is held periodically in the area of Prambanan temple. This study is motivated from concerns about the negative impact of globalization that hit the third world countries, including Indonesia. Among the negative form of globalization is economic and foreign cultural invasion that further marginalize local economic actors and diluting the national culture. Ramayana is an example case interesting because it uses global influences into Indonesia and transforming positively for the benefit of culture-based tourism. This tactic proved to be successful to make Ramayana as a tourist attraction that is quite attractive to foreign tourists or domestic. The article attempts to read the Ramayana as a form of glocalization, which emphasizes creativity in combining global elements with a particular locality. In addition, this article seeks to offer alternative improvements to the Ramayana using Multi-Stakeholder Governance framework and Value Chain approach. Artikel ini berupaya melakukan telaah kritis terhadap pagelaran Sendratari Ramayana sebagai salah satu atraksi budaya yang diselenggarakan secara periodik di kawasan Candi Prambanan. Telaah ini dilatarbelakangi dari kekhawatiran akan dampak negatif globalisasi yang menerpa negara-negara dunia ketiga, termasuk Indonesia. Diantara bentuk negatif globalisasi ialah invasi  ekonomi dan budaya asing yang semakin meminggirkan pelaku ekonomi lokal dan melunturkan budaya nasional. Kasus Sendratari Ramayana menjadi contoh menarik karena berhasil mempergunakan pengaruh global yang masuk ke Indonesia dan mentransformasikannya secara positif untuk kepentingan pariwisata berbasis budaya. Siasat ini terbukti berhasil menjadikan Sendratari Ramayana sebagai sebuah daya tarik wisata yang cukup diminati bagi wisatawan asing ataupun domestik. Artikel ini berupaya membaca Sendratari Ramayana sebagai bentuk dari glokalisasi, yang menekankan pada kreatifitas dalam menggabungkan antara unsur global dengan lokalitas tertentu. Selain itu artikel ini juga berupaya menawarkan alternatif pembenahan terhadap Sendratari Ramayana menggunakan  kerangka pikir Multistakeholder Governance dan Value Chain.

Abstract

This study elaborates Mulyadhi Kartanegara's thoughts regarding the continuity of Islamic philosophy after the Ibn Rushd era. This research is a case study-based qualitative research using a review on Kartanegara's travel notes and research reports as the object. This research also uses other relevant studies to understand Kartanegara’s big idea. This study concludes that, although the idea on Islamic Philosophy does not perish in the Iranian region has been a thesis recognized by many researchers, Kartanegara explore further the dynamics of Islamic philosophical traditions in Iran since the post-Ibn Rushd era. He was dissatisfied with the explanations of many experts who emphasized the elaboration of a prominent philosopher, Mullâ Sadrâ, while ignoring the role of minor philosophers in supporting the continuity of the Islamic philosophical tradition in Iran. This research found, Kartanegara could construct the argument that Islamic philosophy is a living tradition marked by the continuity of ideas developed by minor and major philosophers. Mulyadhi also showed that Islamic philosophy has relevance for overcoming contemporary challenges, primarily related to the problem of knowledge production.
