Abstract

This study tried to determine the effect on quality of life Facebook and students' academic achievement. A total of 210 samples were taken from three universities with proportional multistage random sampling method, while data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with software lisrel 8.80 (student version). The results showed, although according to the investigators alleged that Facebook had a negative impact on quality of life, but the effect was not significant. This is evident from the t value of -1.90 (less than 1.96). Similarly, the structural equation generated, quality of life and Facebook together provide significant influence on academic achievement (with values of t are respectively 0.69 and -0.92). Keywords: structural equation modeling, custom facebook access, quality of life, student academic achievement

Abstract

This research tried to uncover the factors that influence the motivation to learn a college student while working, knowing the differences in achievement between students who work full time, part time and students who do not work, knowing the differences in achievement between male students and female, knowing the relationship between the suitability of the type of work with academic achievement, and determine the relationship between the duration of employment with academic achievement. Analysis of the data used in this research is descriptive analysis, factor analysis, t test, one way ANOVA and chi square test. Descriptive analysis was conducted to determine the respondent data manually while factor analysis, t test, one way ANOVA and chi square test was used to analyze the relationship between variables. The results showed that of the 13 factors (variables) that is proposed in this study, all chosen to be a significant factor affecting student learning motivation that works. Of the 13 factors are four main factors that are formed are: (1) the factors of faculty and instructional media, (2) family factors and learning methods, (3) factors and weighting battery campus facilities, and (4) the personal factor and friends. Other findings in this study there was no significant difference between the achievement of students who work full time, part time and that has not worked; There are significant differences in academic achievement between students of both men and women, there is no relationship between the level of conformity of the work with academic achievement, and there is no significant relationship between the duration of working with academic achievement. Keywords: college while working, factor analysis, motivation to learn

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence academic achievement and student study period. The method used in this research is ex-post facto qualitative research, with a comparative model that compares several similar variables. The sample involved was 398 students from five State Islamic Universities in Central Java. Samples were selected using the random sampling method. Data collection techniques used are observation and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and multiple linear regression. The results showed that: (a) Only two of the six factors had a significant effect on student achievement, that was gender and the new student’s admission way. (b) There were four of the seven factors that significantly affected the study period, that was gender, type of high school, GPA, and PMB wayway. (c) There was a significant difference in student achievement in terms of the new student’s admission way. The highest academic achievement (GPA) was achieved by students who are accepted through the National Academic Achievement Selection Wayway of State Islamic Religious Colleges with an average of 3.61. d) There was a significant difference in the study period in terms of the wayway for new students. The fastest study period was reached by students who were accepted through the State Islamic Religious College Entrance Examination way with an average of 8.5 semesters. (e) There was a very significant negative correlation (sig. = 0,000) between the GPA and the study period, which means that the higher the student GPA, the faster the study period.

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to analyze the effect of learning using Geogebra software on student learning outcomes in analytic geometry courses. The type of research used in this study is a quasi-experimental and data obtained by using test instrument testing, both pretest and posttest. The pretest that was first distributed was used to determine the students' initial abilities, while the posttest was given to determine the level of understanding (learning outcomes) of students. The population in this study were students in the fifth semester who took the Analytical Geometry Course at the Tadris Mathematics Study Program FTIK (Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training) IAIN Pekalongan. Respondents in this study consisted of two classes, namely the control class (class B) and the experimental class (class C). Analysis of the data used in this study is using the free sample t test. The results obtained concluded that there was no difference in learning outcomes between students who were given the Geogebra learning model and students who were given the conventional (conventional) learning model. This can be seen from the results of the t test, with a significance value of 0.126 0.05.
