Abstract

Climate change is a threat to current and future generations. The main cause of climate change is the use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas. Amidst the international community's concerns about climate change, the use of fossil fuels has increased, including in Indonesia. This research aims to analyse Indonesia's compliance with the 2015 Paris Agreement. Indonesia as a country that binds itself to the Paris Agreement has a commitment to reduce emissions in an effort to mitigate climate change. This research analysed using regime compliance theory. The research method used is juridical-normative. The results showed that Indonesia complies with the Paris Agreement regime because it fulfils three indicators in the regime compliance theory, namely output, outcome, and impact.

Abstract

Water is essential for human life, so it cannot be denied that water has an important role in fulfilling other human rights, such as the right to life and the right to health. This implies the importance of good regulations related to water resources to ensure access and fulfillment of the right to water. This research seeks to answer the question of how regulations related to the right to water in Indonesia and South Africa compare, and most importantly whether these regulations are in accordance with international conventions, namely General Comment Number 15 on the Right to water. South Africa was chosen as a comparative country because its Constitution explicitly mentions the right to water for its people. This research was conducted using a comparative method of relevant laws related to the regulation of the right to water in Indonesia and South Africa. The results showed that Indonesia and South Africa have good regulations related to the right to clean water. Regulations related to water resources in both countries also support the efforts of both countries to fulfill the right to water.

Abstract

The continued use of fossil fuel energy can increase the concentration of CO₂ gas in the atmosphere and is a major cause of climate change. Amid concerns about the impact of fossil fuel energy use, fossil fuels still dominate national energy consumption in Indonesia. In this position, it is important to know how the legal aspects related to Indonesia's obligations in the utilization of natural resources, especially in encouraging the use of renewable energy. This research is a normative juridical research. This research aims to analyze what legal aspects provide an obligation for Indonesia to make an energy transition. This is important to encourage the use of renewable energy in Indonesia. The results of this study show that Indonesia has an obligation to encourage the use of renewable energy, where this obligation arises from aspects of national law and from aspects of international law

Abstract

This study details the design, development, and evaluation of an Android-based personal finance management application tailored for young adults in higher education. Addressing unique financial challenges such as limited experience and fluctuating income, the application incorporates features like income tracking, expense monitoring, budgeting, and financial goal setting. Developed using the Waterfall model, the application includes secure login systems, intuitive transaction management, customizable goals, budget projections, and automated notifications to encourage financial discipline. Usability evaluations using a 5-point Likert scale with 50 users revealed an overall satisfaction score of 4.6/5, rated 'Excellent.' Users praised the intuitive design, accurate tracking, and motivational reminders, while also suggesting additional customization and deeper financial analysis for future updates. This study demonstrates the potential of targeted digital tools to foster financial literacy and resilience, offering evidence that personalized technology can significantly improve financial behaviors in young adults. Future research will explore enhanced customization and AI-driven features to further refine the application’s impact.
