Abstract

Present day, floor cleaner is made from rubber which have high hardness, low scratch resistance, low scrape resistance and less elastic making it difficult to use on ceramic tiles. This study aims to obtain exact formula using the fill ratio of Crumb Rubber and Rubber Brushing, thus obtained rubber goods that meet the technical standards. Experimental design that used in this experiment was Full Random Design with 4 (four) condition and 3 (three) times repetition. The condition are K1 = Carbon Black 20 phr, K2 = Carbon Black 15 phr dan Brushing rubber 5 phr, K3 = Carbon Black 10 phr dan Brushing rubber 10 phr, K4 = Carbon Black 5 phr dan Brushing rubber 15 phr. Condition of brushing rubber as a filler affects the characteristics of the rubber compound rubber for hardness, tensile strength, elongation at break and density. The best test result was K1 (Carbon Black 20 phr) with the value of tensile strength 165 Kg/cm2, elongation at break 532%, tear resistance 38 Kg/cm2 and abration resistance 2,0 mm3/Kg. Condition K4 (Carbon Black 5 phr dan Brushing rubber 15 phr) had the best hardness with value 63 Shore A. Keyword : rubber, floor cleaner rubber, compound AbstrakPembersih lantai yang ada sekarang terbuat dari karet yang mempunyai kekerasan yang tinggi, ketahanan sobek dan ketahanan kikis yang rendah dan elastisitasnya kurang sehingga sulit digunakan diatas lantai keramik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan formula yang tepat dengan menggunakan bahan pengisi perbandingan antara Carbon Black dan Brushing rubber, sehingga didapat barang jadi karet yang memenuhi standar teknis. Rancangan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 (empat) perlakuan dan 3 (tiga) kali ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut antara lain : K1 = Carbon Black 20 phr, K2 = Carbon Black 15 phr dan Brushing rubber 5 phr, K3 = Carbon Black 10 phr dan Brushig rubber 10 phr, K4 = Carbon Black 5 phr dan Brushing rubber 15 phr. Perlakuan brushing rubber sebagai bahan pengisi berpengaruh nyata terhadap sifat fisik kompon karet yaitu kekerasan, tegangan putus, ketahanan sobek, dan berat jenis kompon karet. Hasil pengujian terbaik pada perlakuan K1 (Carbon Black 20 phr) dengan nilai tegangan putus 165 Kg/cm2, perpanjangan putus 532%, ketahanan sobek 38 Kg/cm2 dan ketahanan kikis 2,0 mm3/Kg. perlakuan K4 (Carbon Black 5 phr dan Brushing rubber 15 phr) memiliki kekerasan terbaik dengan nilai kekerasan 63 Shore A. Kata Kunci : karet, karet pembersih lantai, kompon

Abstract

The research on the utilization of bamboo activated charcoal as a filler for sport damper has been done. This study aims to obtain the best formula of motor vehicle sport damper with bamboo activated charcoal filler and to examine the characteristics of the resulting sport damper. The design is Completely Randomized Design (RAL) non factorial, each treatment repeated three times, by treatment of B1 (activated charcoal concentration 20 phr), B2 (activated charcoal concentration 30 phr), B3 (activated charcoal concentration 40 phr ), B4 (activated charcoal concentration 50 phr) and B5 (activated charcoal concentration 60 phr). The parameters observed were characteristic of vulcanization of rubber compound sport damper, ie optimum vulcanization rate (t90), pravulcanisation time (ts2) and torsion modulus (ML and MH) and mechanical characteristics, ie tear resistance and compression set. The results showed that all treatments had a significant effect on the characteristics of vulcanization and mechanical characteristics of sport damper. The best treatment of motor vehicle sport damper obtained of B3, B4 and B5, with characteristics characteristic is fulfill of commercial sport damper.  The bamboo activated charcoal can be used as a filler for rubber products and can be used as an alternative to commercial fillers.
