Abstract

This study examined Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) development strategies through information literacy. Information literacy can be interpreted as expertise in effectively accessing and evaluating information to solve problems and make decisions. This study aimed to improve the quality of human resources driving MSMEs in Malang through information literacy. Descriptive qualitative methods were used to describe the phenomenon as a whole. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to determine the pattern of problem identification, searching and implementing solutions, and applying information literacy to the UMKM process in Malang City. The FCD results were analyzed by identifying problems, solutions that were implemented, and information literacy application. The next step was to formulate the stages of the MSME development strategy. MSMEs in Malang City faced internal (capital, human resources, and infrastructure) and external (government support, community roles, and consumer response) constraints. The solutions implemented to overcome these obstacles have not thoroughly utilized information literacy skills, so the problem recurs. MSME development strategies that can be applied with third parties' assistance are problem identification, reflection on applied solutions, and development of information literacy skills (the ability to access information, sort and select, and understand and implement it). Based on these findings, the role of third parties, such as the government and the research team, is quite important for implementing strategies and improving the quality of MSME Human Resources.

Abstract

Many studies have examined research collaboration related to research productivity and scientific publications. The tendency is that the higher the collaboration level, the higher the productivity. However, these studies do not always explain how the existing collaborations are formed. Even though lecturers in Indonesia have three responsibilities (Tridarma), which include education, research, and community service, these studies are also limited to the research aspect. The other two aspects are considered closely related because community service is considered as a downstream of research. Although qualitative studies can help explain the formation of research collaborations and community service, research on collaborations tends to use bibliometrics or social network analysis. This study seeks to explain the mapping and the formation of research collaborations at the X Institution, from 2020 to 2021, using bibliometric analysis combined with in-depth interviews with various stakeholders. Those years have been the initial period of using Research and Service Information Systems at the faculty level, so the availability of the data helps to describe the collaboration of research and community service at the X Institution. This mapping can be the basis for research and community service policies at the the X Institution.

Abstract

Research on authorship patterns identifies the direction of authorship trends in the field of knowledge. This research aims to determine the authorship patterns in four Indonesian library and information science journals with national accreditation SINTA 2 category from 2013 to 2020. The focus consists of publication, author and affiliate patterns, network, trend, and type of collaboration. To achieve this goal, this study uses a descriptive study with a quantitative approach through bibliometric techniques, especially co-authorship analysis. The study found that the increase and stability of publications were in line with the estasblishment of SINTA 2 accreditation. 66% of authors who published more than one article often wrote collaboratively. The authors who produce the highest articles have published different articles in the four Sinta 2 journals and high academic positions. The authors serve as a center for collaboration. 78% of institutions come from the library and information science. State Universities are the type of institution that produces the highest articles by 73%. Most of the articles in each journal are written by authors affiliated with the journal's managing institutions. Cumulatively, the authorship trend is a collaboration with a degree of 0.56. The trend has changed cumulatively from individual to collaboration since 2016. Most partnerships occur between authors from the same institution, with 73.17%.
