Abstract

Logical and creative thinking is the point in the national education goals and purposes of learning mathematics in general. Open ended is one alternative in achieving these goals, which open ended present a problem in terms of solving problems that have more than one strategy, so as to give an opportunity to the students to think logically and creatively. The purpose of this research is generating open-ended questions are valid, practical and determine potential effects on student learning outcomes. The focus of this research is the development of a matter through four stages, namely self evaluation, expert reviews and one-to-one, small group, and a field test. The collection of data is done in a way, test and analysis documentation of students' answers. The test results obtained during tests filed an average of 74.125 where the learning outcomes, the average value are classified in either category. The conclusion of this study are 1) learning tools developed in this study considered a valid and practical; 2) The achievement of student learning outcomes are seen from the results of field tests with an average of 74.125, where average values are classified in either category

Abstract

Drill method aim to train to achieve fluency in mathematical calculations formal drill method also have the potential to spur the students carefully and quickly in math facts. Application of the method of exercise shows that students can perform mathematical formal settlement, and it can be said that the students still understand the concept of matter that they get at the high school level, where students exercise value >70 in each group. The conclusion of the application of training methods, namely: 1). Application of the method of exercise requires students to relate the understanding/concept they can be at the level of secondary school (high school) so that learning becomes meaningful., 2). An increase in average student training results at each meeting of 8.4 at the first meeting be 9.15 at the second lesson

Abstract

Mempertimbangkan hal yang merupakan tujuan dari pembelajaran matematika yaitu berpikir kritis dan kreatif (Karso, 2005), maka dirasa perlu untuk merumuskan indikator soal berpikir krtis sebagai salah satu langkah membiasakan siswa untuk berpikir krtis dan menjadikan dasar berpikir bahwasanya seorang guru harus mendominasi soal matematika dengan tipe soal berpikir kritis sebagai langkah untuk menciptakan efektivitas dan kebermaknaan dalam proses pembelajaran. Kajian ini bertujuan agar ketika kita menginginkan siswa untuk melakukan aktivitas berpikir kritis maka kita harus memunculkan soal-soal berpikir kritis. Indikator aktivitas berpikir kritis tentunya menjadi kontrol dalam proses pembelajaran. Maka indikator soal berpikir kritis dan indikator aktivitas berpikir kritis harus dirancang sebelum kita melakukan proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan kognitif dalam evaluasi pembelajaran matematika siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi yang digunakan adalah seluruh kelas yang terdiri dari sembilan kelas. Dari sembilan kelas populasi diambil satu kelas yang dijadikan sampel yaitu kelas VIII dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 33 orang dengan penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian tes mengenai bangun ruang sisi datar. Data dianalisis dengan cara mencari rata-rata nilai siswa, yang disajikan dalam bentuk tabel, sehingga diperoleh kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh data sebagai berikut: 1) kemampuan kognitif siswa pada level C1 rata-rata sangat tinggi yaitu 74,74% termasuk kedalam kategori baik, kemampuan  kognitif siswa pada level C2 rata-rata rendah yaitu sebesar 59,59% termasuk dalam kategori cukup, kemampuan kognitif siswa pada level C3 rata-ratanya lebih tinggi dari rata-rata C2 yaitu sebesar 66,66% termasuk dalam kategori baik, dan yang terakhir kemampuan kognitif siswa pada level C4 rata-rata sangat rendah dengan persentase sebesar 35,35% termasuk kategori gagal

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid PISA model math questions in the context of Covid-19. This research is a development research, namely research and development consisting of 2 stages, namely preliminary and formative evaluation stages which include self evaluation, expert reviews, one to one and small group and field test. However, this article only discusses the validity of the questions so that it only reaches the expert reviews and one to one stage. The result of this study is to obtain the validity of the development of the PISA model of mathematical problems in the context of the spread of Covid-19 from expert reviews and from one to one. With the conclusion that the product in the form of questions has been validated based on content, construct and language. An indicator that an instrument is valid is that the expert has received the instrument, both in content and format, without any revision.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain STEM-based LKPD for the EDP learning model developed for Geometry Transformation material, to determine the feasibility of LKPD, to find out students' responses to LKPD, and to find out the potential effect on students' creative thinking after using the LKPD. The subjects of this study were 3 teachers as material experts, 2 lecturers and 1 design expert teacher, as well as 25 class XI students of SMA IBA Palembang for the 2022/2023 academic year. The level of feasibility is seen from the results of the assessment of material experts and design experts. Meanwhile, students' responses were seen from the results of the questionnaire after using the STEM-based LKPD that had been developed. This study uses the ADDIE research model (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluation). Based on the results of the experts' assessment, it was obtained STEM-based LKPD that was feasible to apply to the Geometry Transformation subject. Student responses were obtained by 86,6% in the practical category. As for students' creative thinking skills, it was obtained that 84% of students completed the creative thinking test. The conclusion obtained from this study is that STEM-based LKPD on Geometry Transformation material is very suitable for use as teaching material. Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of statistics in everyday life to help students understand the concept of data centering measures, especially the mean, median and mode. This research was conducted at MTS Aisyiyah Palembang. The research subjects were class VIII students, involving 16 students who were divided into 3 groups. This research used the PMRI approach where students were invited to measure contextually their height. The results showed that the PMRI approach can help students discover for themselves how to calculate a person's height and find the mean, median and mode through a mathematical reference process. Finding their own concept of data centering measures and solving problems in everyday life related to the concept of data centering measures. The results of this study show that through a series of activities that have been carried out help students in learning the size of data concentration.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the learning methods and challenges faced by several students when solving mathematics problems regarding number patterns, with an emphasis on analyzing students' thinking processes. This study employs an approach to analyze students' ways of thinking. In this study, a qualitative approach is used with a case study method on a group of junior high school students. Information was collected through observations and analysis of students' work. The findings of the research indicate that students apply various strategies in understanding the material of number patterns, which include memorizing patterns to trying to find their own formulas. However, many students face difficulties in drawing conclusions about patterns and connecting relevant mathematical concepts to everyday life. Common mistakes include errors in recognizing patterns, errors in calculations, and a lack of precision in understanding problems. Analysis of the thinking process shows that some students are still at the concrete operational thinking level, so they need visual aids and real-life examples to better understand patterns. This research emphasizes the need for an approach in teaching that can enhance students' abstract thinking abilities and requires varied practice in determining numerical pattern problems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of learning mathematics on percentage material through the use of play money with the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach in class VII SMP. The PMRI approach is used to link mathematical concepts with real contexts, in this case buying and selling activities using play money. This research is a descriptive qualitative research conducted at MTs Al-Mu'aawanah Pemulutan, Ogan Ilir. The research subjects were seventh grade students. The instruments used include Learner Worksheets (LKPD), observation, and interviews. The results showed that the use of play money can help students understand the concept of percentage more concretely and contextually. Students become more active in the learning process and are able to connect the concept of percentage with everyday situations. The PMRI approach proved to be effective in increasing students' engagement and understanding of percentage material.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematical understanding abilities through the application of a problem solving approach using magic coin media on integer operation material. This study is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach conducted at MTs An-Nuur Palembang in May of the 2025/2026 academic year. The subjects of the study were 25 grade VII students who were selected purposively. Data collection was carried out through observation, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The results of the study showed that the use of magic coin media in mathematics learning was able to improve students' conceptual understanding. This media helps students to be more active, understand integer operations concretely, and be involved in the problem-solving process independently or in groups. These findings indicate that the problem solving approach combined with magic coin media can create a fun learning atmosphere, and is effective in improving students' mathematical understanding abilities.
