Abstract

The use of graphs to analyze heart sound signals quite difficult, because the cardiac signals are retrieved and displayed into a graph requires special skills to be able to read and analyze the cardiac signal. Therefore, the authors took the initiative to create an application that can transform the heart sound signal from the time domain into the frequency domain for analysis needs.The process of transformation of heart sound signals using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT).Based on the test results showed the transformation of the heart signal from the time domain to the frequency domain in the experiment with six different cases is particularly evident in the Peak or peak frequency and maximum frequency. Abnormalities of the heart sound signal with voice disorders at low frequencies produces a frequency domain representation of the graph with a small hill in the low frequencies.

Abstract

Dentistry graduates are required to treat patients with various diseases of mouth. A dentist who examined the patient should undertake a careful and thorough examination in order to determine the disease suffered by the patient. It is not always easy for the newly graduated dentists to deal with a wide variety of oral diseases. It is urgently needed a system that is able to facilitate the new dentist in diagnosing diseases of the mouth and how to follow up the disease. Based on the description of the  problems, in this work we designed a web-based expert system application. The application is expected to help to overcome the problems of dentists who just completed his studies in diagnosing and following up on the patient's natural disease. The expert system uses the certainty factor method to determine any symptoms experienced by the patient. The diagnosis is expected to produce a report to assist dentists in making a follow-up to the natural disease in the patient and save it into the database system. Based on the test results showed that the application of this expert system has the accuracy of 100% to indicate that the system is able to determine the type of oral disease. The accuracy of the results obtained from 10 test by a dentist.

Abstract

This research is motivated by common dental diseases that are present among people. it is evident that people will visit dentist only when they experience serious problems with their teeth, this mainly because a lack of understanding against the dental disease and also expensive charge of dental checkup. therefore, in this study we build an application for diagnosing common dental disease. a web-based application that is available to be accessed freely. The purpose of this study is to build a expert system for identifying dental disease.The expert system utilized the certainty factor method as the inference engine. The reason behind this is  because this method is able to produce alternatives diagnosis (the output of the system comprises of some diagnosis results). It can be seen that certainty factor method is very suitable for expert system problem solving for disease diagnosis. This research was done by way of anamnesis process (giving a question to the user). The system produces a possibility of the diseases as well as causative factor and handling factor.This work has been tested by an expert using 30 times experiment. Based on our examination some result were obtained as follows: Firstly, the system gives similar results in reference  to the expert judgment of disease. Secondly, the system gives possibilities of the disease when we considered confidence level above 80%. Thirdly, the results were considered invalid when the diagnosis of the system didn’t match with the expert judgment

Abstract

The diseases around the woman's uterus is a fatal disease and causing death. But a lot of people underestimate the symptoms. The type of disease around the woman’s uterus have similar symptoms, it is difficult to know the type of disease that patients suffered. Therefore, patients need a doctor to consult about the disease around the woman's uterus. However, Patients often have trouble to consult a doctor because of limited working hours and cost limitations. In order to provide convenience consultation process, in this work, we build an expert system for diagnosing diseases around woman’s uterus using the certainty factor metho. The expert systems will diagnose any symptoms by providing certainty factor values at each symptom and the certainty factor value of answers. The new system will produce diagnosed diseases based on the some facts given by a user. The trial results showed that the system give accuracy diagnosis of 90%. It is examined by employing ten patients. This system also provide treatment advice based on the type of disease that suffered. However, the expert system for diagnosis of disease the woman's uterus can be accessed anytime and anywhere via website.

Abstract

Suzuki Motor Sales (SMS)Undaan is an authorized dealers and workshop center in the area of Surabaya, which sells motorbike with DOHC engine technology that currently becomes most in demand in society. However, the present of these technologies raise new challenge for many mechanics that are less able to cope with the disfunctional engine of the motorbikes. Analysis and design of an expert system might be able to equip the mechanics in handling the DOHC engine failure. Our approach shows that the expert system can identify problems accurately by using the certainty factors method. This application is expected to be able to overcome the mechanics problem in handling the DOHC motorbike engine. And the results obtained from the research that has been done is very helpful for any problems of the motor DOHC engine with 100 % accuracy rate calculations.

Abstract

UD Dwi Mulya Plastik is a company that produces plastic ore based house appliances. To fulfill customer’s demand, it requires sales forecasting so it can reduce the risk of over production or under production. The sales is represented as time-series data. In this work, we utilized an Artificial Neural Network method that commonly called Improved Elman method to do forecasting of the time-series data. Based on our examination, it is shown that the smallest value of averaged MSE (0,29) as well as MAPE (12,69%) for ‘timba cor’ can be achieved by using learning rate of 0,50 and the number of input data 12. On the other hand, the smallest value of averaged MSE (0,011) as well as MAPE (15,23%) for ‘waskom’ can be achieved by using learning rate of 0,30 and the number of input data 12. It is commonly understood that the maximum value of MAPE to be categorized as good forecasting is 20%, hence, it is concluded that the Improved Elman method in this study is considered valid.

Abstract

In the last decade much research effort has been dedicated to deal with the issues of wireless multimedia communications, in particular bandwidth limitation and channel impairment. We have recently proposed a new scheme for blind equalization called sinusoidally-distributed dither signed-error constant modulus algorithm (S-DSE-CMA). In this paper, we test this scheme for wireless image transmission. Simulation showed that the low complexity of implementation and fast convergence rate are the major advantages of employing the new scheme for multimedia applications. It is also shown, from perceptual-based analysis as well as objective measurements using peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) of the recovered image, that the recently-proposed blind adaptive equalization algorithm outperforms existing methods, e.g., uniformly-distributed DSE-CMA. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, usaha-usaha penelitian dilakukan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan-permasalahan yang ada pada bidang multimedia untuk komunikasi nirkabel. Permasalahan-permasalahan tersebut misalnya keterbatasan lebar jalur dan distorsi kanal komunikasi. Dalam paper ini, sebuah algoritma baru dibuat untuk ekualisasi secara buta terhadap kanal komunikasi nirkabel. Algoritma tersebut disebut sebagai sinusoidally-distributed dither signed-error constant modulus algorithm (S-DSE-CMA). Pengujian dilakukan dengan mengirimkan informasi dalam bentuk gambar yang ditransmisikan pada kanal komunikasi nirkabel. Dari pengujian didapatkan bahwa dengan menggunakan algoritma baru ini terdapat dua kelebihan dibandingkan algoritma yang telah ada (uniformly-distributed DSE-CMA) yaitu: kompleksitas algoritma lebih rendah dan kecepatan konvergensi dari algoritma ini lebih tinggi. Kata kunci: Ekualisasi, interferensi antar simbol, algoritma constant modulus, multimedia.
