Abstract

Along with scientific development and technological growth which have created a lot of convenience to mankind there have also raised a deep cynicism towards the religious and spiritual aspects of life. Value crisis of humanity marked by the crisis of spirituality increased. Many societies are facing deep crisis. This condition makes the world vulnerable to violence and conflicts. Therefore, modern world society has been challenged to to be more attentive than before to deal with religious and spiritual values. This paper asserts that religion continues to be an important since it combines both personal and public character. Social problems faced by the modern world society such as cultural diversity, environmental preservation, economic equity, and conflict resolution are theologically reflected within the teaching of Islam. Sufism as a form of Islamic spiritualities offers some applicable answers for this phenomenon. In addition, characteristic of Sufism (mysticism) is commonly well known in almost all religions. Sufism cherishes from the private sphere into a popular Islamic culture. This research would like to see how the phenomenon of spiritual movement in the dimension of Sufism has a real powerful to improve social problem of the modern world.

Abstract

Saat ini dunia dihadapkan dalam suatu era globalisasi dan modernisasi.  Yang mengakibatkan terjadi perubahan-perubahan mendasar dalam kehidupan  manusia. Globalisasi adalah satu kenyataan yang tidak terelakkan, dimana dunia  semakin terbuka dan terkoneksi berkat perkembangan informasi dan teknologi,  dan manusia semakin dekat dan mendalam mengenal satu sama lain, tetapi juga  lebih mudah terbawa kepada penghadapan dan konfrontasi langsung satu sama  lain. Di dalam setiap kasus, dimana keegoisan dan keserakahan manusia telah  menyebabkan timbulnya berbagai persoalan dan konflik, terutama konflik yang  berlangsung antara negara-negara Islam dan Kristen (Timur dan Barat). Oleh  karena itu, sangat diperlukan sikap saling pengertian dan saling menghormati  dengan mencari dan menemukan titik kesamaan satu sama lain, bukan titik  perbedaan. Dialog dan saling pengertian di antara perbedaan agama dan budaya  menjadi sangat penting untuk dilakukan karena prinsip dasar semua agama adalah  perdamaian. Dialog bukan bermaksud untuk mempersatukan keimanan seseorang,  tetapi untuk mendekatkan pandangan tentang kehidupan untuk saling menghargai  dan menghormati antar tradisi untuk menciptakan perdamaian di muka bumi.

Abstract

Radicalism is one of the notions that can damage the social order in society, especially when it comes to religion. This study aims to find out specifically about the understanding of Islamic religious leaders in Banda Aceh City about the teachings and movements of religious radicalism, the factors that influence the development of religious radicalism, and the response of Islamic religious leaders in Banda Aceh City in responding to the development of religious radicalism today. This study uses a qualitative approach and the research method is descriptive. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview, documentation, and literature study. The results of this study indicate that the teachings and movements of radicalism are understood by Islamic religious leaders in Banda Aceh City as an understanding that will change the politics of Muslim and social communities through violence, this perspective is contrary to Islamic values and cannot be tolerated, because the characteristics of This movement tends to blame the other party. Attitudes like blasphemy, loud-speaking style, imposing will on others, like to blame and disbelieve in others. Factors causing radicalism include the lack of understanding about Islam and the country. Politically, certain politicians use religion as a tool to promote themselves to gain power. In addition, this research states that there is incitement and bribery to the community to commit violence for a fee. The Islamic religious leaders of Banda Aceh City responded strongly to the teachings and movements of radicalism by showing an attitude of rejection of the existence of the movement because it was considered contrary to the teachings of religion and the state. This movement can harm other people and damage good relations in the life of the nation, religion, and state.AbstrakRadikalisme merupakan paham yang dapat  menggoyahkan tatanan sosial dalam masyarakat terutama jika berkaitan dengan agama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui secara khusus tentang pemahaman tokoh agama Islam Kota Banda Aceh tentang ajaran dan gerakan radikalisme agama, faktor yang mempengaruhi perkembangan radikalisme agama dan respon tokoh agama Islam Kota Banda Aceh dalam menyikapi berkembangnya radikalisme agama dewasa ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, metode penelitian bersifat deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi kepustakaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa ajaran dan gerakan radikalisme dipahami oleh tokoh agama Islam Kota Banda Aceh sebagai suatu paham yang ingin mengadakan suatu perubahan baik secara politik maupun sosial melalui jalan kekerasan, dan ini bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai keislaman. Hal ini tidak dapat ditoleril, karena ciri gerakannya bersifat merugikan pihak lain seperti suka menghujat, gaya bicara yang keras, memaksakan kehendak pada orang lain, suka menyalahkan dan mengkafirkan orang. Faktor penyebab terjadinya radikalisme antara lain minimnya pemahaman mengenai agamanya maupun tentang negaranya. Pada faktor politik oleh para politikus tertentu, memakai agama sebagai benteng untuk mempromosikan dirinya demi kepentingan kekuasaan, adanya hasutan dan penyogokan kepada golongan awam dengan cara dibayar. Para tokoh agama Islam Kota Banda Aceh merespon keras ajaran dan gerakan radikalisme yakni dengan menunjukkan sikap penolakan keberadaan gerakan tersebut karena dianggap bertentangan dengan ajaran agama dan negara. Gerakan ini dapat merugikan orang lain serta merusak hubungan baik kehidupan berbangsa, agama dan negara.

Abstract

One of materialism's and modernism's most serious flaws is their failure to take a holistic picture of human life. Transcendental ideals are rejected by almost all modernist ideologists. To put it another way, there is no objective, absolute standard for truth. Truth and moral standards, on the other hand, are only relative, with validity restricted to time, location, and situation. Modernists label societies founded on divine revelation as "static" and "petrified." Change is considered a virtue in and of itself, and the sooner things change, the better. The highest virtue of modernity is being current. The primary goal of this article was to investigate features of Western materialism and modernization, as well as the underlying causes at work in the process of materialism and modernization. It begins by studying the nature of materialism and the modernization process through an examination of the core narrative of Western history. The knowledge gathered from this analysis is utilized to create a conceptual framework. The paradigm is then used to investigate the consequences of Western modernity on non-Western countries.

Abstract

Religion has plays a major role in influencing cultures and shaping social behavior. Religion, the faith in God, with all of the spiritual wealth, can influence people and even improve them until perfection. The science of Ushuluddin studies the basics of Islamic religious beliefs (Iman), and all matters related to faith, or Tawhid. The science of monotheism is also called the science of Ushuluddin (the basics or main points of religion) or the Science of Kalam. Therefore it is called the science of Ushuluddin (the matter subject of religion). Ushuluddin has to answered the problem of the Muslim Ummah. The interpretation of Ushuluddin is how the human relationship with God and man to man to avoid inequality, the human beings should be able to put himself as a servant of God are always subjecting themselves stopper form the ritual worship. Religious education aims to help to develop the ability of thinking, to testify values and to have complete knowledge concerning the modern world, to process critical attitude for social values, in order to develop civilization within multicultural society. This research tries to analyze the impact of Religion in social transformation as a challenge of Ushuluddin’s studies of globalization.

Abstract

By referring to God as the Beloved, Rabi'ah al-Adawiah, the first Sufi woman, articulated the relationship with the Divine in a way that has come to be recognized as uniquely Sufi. The love described in the Pattern of Rabi'ah is thought to be pure love for God; the lover must walk along the route of love in order to remember God alone, not Hell or Paradise. When Rabi'ah speaks of "love," he means something more fundamental than something constrained by reward or hope. Her affection is truly lovely. The first woman to discuss the practicalities of Sufism in an approachable and comprehensible manner was Rabi'ah. The genuine embodiment of the relationship between a human being and God is found in Rabi'ah's love. She has contributed significantly to the growth of Sufism. I will explore Rabi'ah al-Adawiah's practice of love in this article. She was a follower of the Sufi Way, a mystical path within Islam. She will share stories of her efforts to witness truth in many realms, as well as her dreams and visions, as well as her sacred songs and poetry

Abstract

Islam is a way of life that provides guidance and direction to Muslims in all aspects. However, the separation between religion and secularism has become a reality, leading to various issues. The lack of knowledge about Islam and illiteracy has made the faith of Muslims emotional and intolerant in religious matters. Conversely, young graduates from secular institutions possess deep scientific knowledge but lack understanding of religious issues, creating tension between modern and religious groups, which ultimately causes social, political, and economic instability. This article aims to analyze Al Faruqi's ideas and thoughts on the Islamization of Knowledge and how this approach can address the conflict between contemporary science and Islamic principles, as well as strengthen the unity and development of the Muslim community. This research employs a qualitative method with a textual analysis approach to Al Faruqi's works. The primary data sources consist of Al Faruqi's writings on the Islamization of Knowledge and secondary literature discussing his thoughts. The data analysis technique involves examining the arguments put forth by Al Faruqi and assessing their relevance and application in the modern context. The research finds that Al Faruqi presents several important arguments, one of which is that contemporary sciences lack objectivity and are not entirely scientific because humans cannot be neutral or value-free. He argues that Allah created humans with the gift of Al’aql (mind and reasoning) and senses to influence and be influenced. Only when these sciences adopt divine principles and an ummatic approach can they be applied universally. Al Faruqi's approach to the Islamization of Knowledge offers a solution to address the conflict between modern and religious groups by emphasizing the integration of scientific knowledge with Islamic principles. This not only enhances understanding and tolerance within the Muslim community but also has the potential to strengthen the social, political, and economic stability of Muslims as a whole.
