Every society has a culture that comes in various forms. One form of culture that can be found in our lives is the local culture. The Kuala Jelai community has local wisdom, which is an appreciation of the sea with the concept of sea thanksgiving. Local wisdom of a community is beneficial for other communities because the value of local wisdom is undoubtedly something that has been tested by time and space. This article is intended to elaborate on the tradition of sea Thanksgiving in Kuala Jelai, especially on the side of its preservation. Among the essential reasons for the tradition of sea thanksgiving is the role of the sea, which significantly helps the life of fishers, so that the people of Kuala Jelai held a thanksgiving sea as gratitude to God who has provided sustenance and safety for the fishermen and the surrounding community. In the process of implementing the sea thanksgiving tradition, there are several values contained therein, namely social values, religious values, and educational values

Along with scientific development and technological growth which have created a lot of convenience to mankind there have also raised a deep cynicism towards the religious and spiritual aspects of life. Value crisis of humanity marked by the crisis of spirituality increased. Many societies are facing deep crisis. This condition makes the world vulnerable to violence and conflicts. Therefore, modern world society has been challenged to to be more attentive than before to deal with religious and spiritual values. This paper asserts that religion continues to be an important since it combines both personal and public character. Social problems faced by the modern world society such as cultural diversity, environmental preservation, economic equity, and conflict resolution are theologically reflected within the teaching of Islam. Sufism as a form of Islamic spiritualities offers some applicable answers for this phenomenon. In addition, characteristic of Sufism (mysticism) is commonly well known in almost all religions. Sufism cherishes from the private sphere into a popular Islamic culture. This research would like to see how the phenomenon of spiritual movement in the dimension of Sufism has a real powerful to improve social problem of the modern world.

Masyarakat Melayu dikenal mempunyai berbagai macam tradisi yang dilakukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, termasuk Melayu Sambas. Salah satu warisan tersebut adalah tradisi belalle’. Tulisan ini membahas tentang tradisi belalle’ tersebut yang merupakan wujud rasa kebersamaan dan kekeluargaan antar sesama masyarakat Melayu Sambas walaupun menjadi diaspora di wilayah Kubu Raya. Tradisi ini dilaksanakan secara rutin setiap musim sawah berlangsung setiap tahunnya. Semakin baik seseorang mengenal orang lain, semikin baik pula hubungan emosional mereka dan akan semakin baik dan berpengaruh pula kepada rasa persatuan dan kesatuan. Tradisi Belalle’ tetap dilakukan oleh masyarakat Melayu di Desa Sungai Rengas karena mereka sadar bahwa hidup ini memerlukan bantuan orang lain. Dalam tradisi Belalle’ tidak hanya masyarakat Melayu yang melakukannya, akan tetapi etnis Madura pun ikut melakukan tradisi tersebut. Mereka bersama-sama dalam menjalankan tradisi tersebut tanpa memandang latar belakang etnis dari mereka. Dijelaskan juga dalam tulisan ini bahwa nilai kebersamaa yang ada dalam tradisi belalle’ adalah bersumber dari ajaran Islam. Selanjutnya dijelaskan pula nilai-nilai Islam yang terkandung dalam tradisi Belalle’ yang terkait dengan nilai kebersamaan yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Melayu di Desa Sungai Rengas. Selain itu, tulisan ini juga menjelaskan tentang keistimewaan yang terdapat dalam tradisi belalle’ sehingga masyarakat Melayu masih menjalankan warisan nenek moyang mereka yang ada sejak ratusan tahun lalu

Modern society tends to be techno-centric. Technology removes geographical distance and other physical restrictions in communication. Therefore, this matter must be responded by the preachers to reach the "e-society" mad'u with the world without limits. This has become a challenge as well as an opportunity for the da'is, and now they must be ICT literate. Ironically, the phenomenon of freedom of expression leads to acts of radicalism both in cyberspace and the real world that threaten the social integration of the world community. Here is the importance, how can techno-da'is influence e-society so that in theirexpression theystill uphold Islamic values that prioritize security, peace, safety, happiness and harmony among humans as described in the Qur’an. The strategies of "Normative Integration" revealed from the Quran consist of several phases, namely: accommodation, cooperation, coordination, assimilation, progressiveness and submissive-repentance.[Masyarakat modern cenderung teknosentris. Teknologi menghapus jarak geografis dan keterbatasan fisik manusia lainnya dalam berkomunikasi. Hal ini harus direspon oleh para da'i untuk menjangkau mad'u “e-society” dengan dunia tanpa batasnya. Hal ini menjadi tantangan sekaligus peluang bari para da’i, da’i kini harus melek ICT. Ironisnya, fenomena kebebasan berekspresi berujung kepada tindakan radikalisme baik di dunia maya dan dunia nyata yang mengancam integrasi sosial masyarakat dunia. Di sinilah pentingnya, bagaimana seorang tekno-da’i mampu mempengaruhi e-society agar dalam berekspresi tetap menjunjung nilai-nilai Islami yang sangat mendahulukan keamanan, kedamaian, keselamatan, kebahagiaan dan keharmonisan antar umat manusia sebagaimana deskripsi di dalam al-Quran. Studies of traditional Islamic educational institutions have tended to show these institutions playing a less prominent social role as society has modernized. This research seeks to show a different phenomenon, namely one in which a traditional Islamic educational institution (dayah) has been able to endure and maintain its important role in society. The socio-cultural dynamics of Aceh have had a contribution to the continued existence of the dayah in the new media era. Analysis shows that, even as other traditional educational institutions have been marginalized, Dayah Ulee Titi has grown significantly. It recommends a more in-depth study into the dynamic relationship between traditionalism and modernism to explore how the two co-exist in the field of education.

Tujuan artikel ini adalah menjelaskan secara komperhensif komunikasi yang dilakukan guru PAI dianggap belum mampu merealisasikan pembiasaan akhlak mulia pada siswa dan untuk mengetahui strategi yang efektif dalam melakukan komunikasi bagi guru untuk memberikan pembiasaan akhlak mulia di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah di Kota Jayapura. Merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan paradigma fenomenologi social. Hasil penelitian: Komunikasi aktif yang dilaksanakan guru PAI di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) yang ada di Kota Jayapura yaitu memberikan kesempatan yang setara kepada siswa berinteraksi antar siswa maupun guru dalam mengembangkan daya nalar, serta pola berfikir sehingga mampu mengontrol komunikasi yang dilakukan. Mengembangkan komunikasi interpersonal dan komunikasi kelompok, dianggap efektif merangsang siswa berinteraksi. Membiasakan hal-hal yang bersifat teladan agar menimbulkan peniruan dan menjadi kebiasaan. Faktor lingkungan, faktor keluarga, teman sepermainan mampu merubah sikap dan perilaku siswa. Minimnya media komunikasi yang digunakan guru berpengaruh dalam pembentukan akhlakul karimah, dalam mengembangkan imajinasi siswa dalam mentransfer ilmu pengetahuan keagamaan pada siswa. Kurangnya pelatihan guru PAI yang ada di MI Kota Jayapura berpengaruh pada kemampuan berinovasi mengembangkan media komunikasi yang efektif dalam memberikan materi berkaitan Al-akhlaq Al-Karimah.
