Abstract

Cognitive development is one of students' development aspects related to knowledge. It inlcudes all psychological processes related to individual's method to learn and comprehend his environment. Cognitive development is a development step of human from child to adult, from concrete thinking process to the advanced ones, which is abstract and covering logical concepts. Cognitive development in children is their abilities to think in a more complicated way, do reasoning, and solve problems that include into psychological process related to an individual's method of learning and taking his environment into account. The characteristics of students' cognitive development have to be realized by all parties. With the comprehension of the characteristics of students' cognitive development, teachers and parents can determine the development limit the students had according to their age, so teachers and parents can implement the knowledge that suits children’s cognitive skill.

Abstract

Sintuwu Maroso is a local culture of the Pamona community or tribe, which has been practiced since their settlement in the Poso Regency. Additionally, Sintuwu Maroso culture aligns with Islamic teachings due to its Islamic educational values, namely Tuwu Mombetubunuka (mutual respect), Tuwu Mombepatuwu (mutual sustenance/not causing harm to each other), Tuwu Siwagi (mutual support/helping others fulfill their needs), Tuwu Simpande Raya (understanding/tolerance), Tuwu Sintuwu Raya (upholding unity and solidarity), Tuwu Mombepomawo (mutual love), and Tuwu Molinuwu (productive life/not being lazy in seeking sustenance). The research problem posed in this study is whether Sintuwu Maroso culture embodies Islamic educational values that can be used as a learning medium for Islamic Religious Education and Character Education in schools. The aim of this research is to uncover Islamic educational values within Sintuwu Maroso culture as a means of teaching Islamic Religious Education and Character Education. The research method employed is qualitative in the form of descriptive field research, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that there are seven Islamic educational values within Sintuwu Maroso culture that can be utilized as a medium for teaching these values in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education subjects. These values include Tuwu Mombepatuwu (mutual sustenance), Tuwu Siwagi (mutual support), Tuwu Simpande Raya (understanding), Tuwu Sintuwu Raya (unity in diversity), Tuwu Mombepomawo (mutual love), and Tuwu Molinuwu (productive life). All these educational values within Sintuwu Maroso culture are rooted in the Qur’an and Hadith. In conclusion, Sintuwu Maroso culture represents Islamic Culture Education and serves as an investment in multicultural education.

Abstract

Budaya lokal Sintuwu Maroso tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai identitas masyarakat Kabupaten Poso, tetapi juga memiliki fungsi dan nilai pendidikan yang harus diimplementasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari untuk menggapai kehidupan harmonis ditengah masyarakat plural, khususnya pasca konflik terjadi di daerah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengungkap dan menjelaskan fungsi dan nilai pendidikan islam budaya Sintuwu Maroso, baik nilai sosial maupun spiritual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi kepustakaan (library research). Teknik analisis datanya dilakukan dengan cara menelaah dan menginterpretasi berbagai sumber tertulis yang relevan, seperti buku, jurnal ilmiah, artikel, dokumen, dan sumber tertulis lainnya. Proses analisis dimulai dengan mengidentifikasi data yang relevan, kemudian mengklasifikasikannya sesuai dengan fokus penelitian.Data yang telah dikumpulkan dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, yaitu menggambarkan, menafsirkan, dan menyusun informasi berdasarkan tema atau kategori tertentu. Peneliti melakukan reduksi data (pemilahan informasi penting), penyajian data secara sistematis, serta penarikan kesimpulan berdasarkan sintesis dari literatur yang ditelaah. Tujuannya adalah menghasilkan pemahaman mendalam terhadap fenomena yang diteliti, bukan sekadar mengumpulkan kutipan, tetapi membangun argumen atau deskripsi berdasarkan pemikiran teoritis dan hasil kajian literatur yang kredibel. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa budaya Sintuwu Maroso memiliki nilai-nilai Islami yang kuat, seperti persatuan, gotong royong, dan kedamaian, sehingga dapat berfungsi sebagai pedoman atau navigasi sosial Islami dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa Sintuwu Maroso bukan hanya budaya lokal, tetapi juga selaras dengan ajaran yang menjadi pendidikan dalam Islam dan sangat penting untuk dilestarikan dalam membangun kehidupan masyarakat yang harmonis di tengah keberagaman.
