Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch to study performance of agro-morfology and genetic parameters of twelve rice genotypes at lowland rice irrigation was conducted at  Giripeni, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, during the wet season of November 2011 to February  2012. Twelve rice genotypess, namely Inpari 1, Inpari 2, Inpari 3, Inpari 4, Inpari 5, Inpari 6, Inpari 7, Ciherang, Dodokan, Silugonggo, Situ Bagendit, and IR64  were arranged in a randomized complete block design in three replications. Seedling of 15 days was planted in legowo 4:1, with one seedling per hill, spacing of 25 x 12,5 x 50 cm, in plot size of 5 x 10 m2. Time application and dosage of fertilizer were :1) Three days before planting with 2 t/ha organic, 2) Five days after planting with 300 kg/ha Phonska,  3) At 21 days after planting with 100 kg Urea/ha; and 4) At  35 days after planting with 100 kg Urea/ha. Data indicated that Inpari 3,  Inpari 5 and  Inpari 1 yielded  7.55; 7.44; and 6.98 t ha -1 respectively, and significantly higher than that of the best check variety Ciherang (6.26 t ha-1 ). Broad genetic variabilities were found for grain yield, panicle number per hill, filled grain per panicle, and total grain per panicle. High heritability estimate was found for 1000-grain weight, filled grain per panicle, total grain per panicle, panicle number per hill,  plant height, and maturity. Genetic and phenotypic correlation between filled grain per panicle and yield,  total grain per panicle and yield, and panicle number per hill and yield showed significantly different.Key words : agro-morphology, genetic parameter,  rice genotype, lowland irrigation

Abstract

Sutaryo et al, 2019. Study on Performance for Some New Upland Rice Superior Varieties in Sub-Optimal Area in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. pp. 449-455.This research aimed to study on performance for some new upland rice superior varieties in sub-optimal area in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta.  Study on performance for some new upland rice superior varieties in sub-optmal area in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta  using Inpago 5, Inpago 8, and Inpago 10 was conducted at Kumpul Makaryo Farmer Group, Nglanggeran, Patuk, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta from February 2017- June 2017. Seedling of  15 days with one seedling per hill was planted in tajarwo 4:1, spacing of 25 x 12,5 x 50 cm, with  256.000 plant population. Plot size per variety was  2000 m2. Those varieties were used as treatment. Ciherang as a  populair varieties planted using the same population by farmers were used as checks. Data were analyzed using t test. Inpago 5 gave the highest yield (7.3 t/ha) compared with check varieties and the other varieties tested, with yield ranging from 5.9 for Ciherang to 7.0 t/ha for Inpago 8. The highest yield on Inpago 5 was contributed by the highest of the main components, namely the number of filled grains, total grain number, and the panicle number. All varieties showed early to moderate maturity ranging from 107 days for Inpago 5 to 116 days for Ciherang. Inpago 5, Inpago 8 and Inpago 10  should be developed on a broad scale.

Abstract

Research of Performance of yield and agronomic components for hybrid rice in Bantul, Yogyakarta. for five hybrid rice varieties namely Hipa 8, Hipa 9, Hipa Jatim 2, Hipa 18 and Hipa 19 was conducted at Sonopakis, Bantul, Yogyakarta during the dry season (DS) of 2015. Seedling of 15 days with one seedling per hill was planted using Jajar Legowo 4:1 system, with a plant spacing of 25 x 12,5 x 50 cm. Plot size per variety was 2000 m2. Ciherang and IR64 as a popular variety planted using the same population by farmers were used as checks. Data were analyzed using t-test. Hipa 8 and Hipa 19 gave the highest yield (7.9 and 7.5 t/ha, respectively) compared with check varieties and the other varieties tested. The highest yield on Hipa 8 and Hipa 19 were contributed by the highest of the main components, namely the number of filled grains, total grain number, and the panicle number. All varieties showed early to moderate maturity, except Hipa 9 and Hipa Jatim 2 of 120 and 123 days, respectively.
