Abstract

The writing of this article aims to (1) find out the optimal use of technology-based learning media as a contemporary learning tool for social studies professional teachers; (2) explore the utilization of technology-based learning media as a contemporary learning tool in implementing students' character education; (3) identify the roles and challenges of social studies professional teachers in utilizing technology-based learning media as a contemporary learning tool in students' character education towards the Era of Society 5.0. The method used in writing this article is descriptive qualitative, employing a literature review approach to collect relevant data from various academic sources such as books, journals, magazines, brochures, websites, and other references related to the topic of "The Optimal Use of Technology-Based Learning Media in Contemporary Social Studies Education for Character Development Towards the Era of Society 5.0." The literature review was conducted between mid-March and early April 2023, focusing on selecting recent academic works published between the years 2018 to 2023. The purpose of this research method is to synthesize and analyze existing literature to gain insights into the utilization of technology-based learning media in character education within the context of contemporary social studies education and its relevance in preparing students for the challenges of Society 5.0. The results of writing this article show that; (1) The optimal use of technology-based learning media as a contemporary learning tool for social studies professional teachers can lead to faster and significant scientific contributions in the field of science and technology for the advancement of national education. (2) Technology-based learning media as a contemporary learning tool in student character education has the potential to create a character-based, moral, and culturally enriched educational landscape that preserves and promotes local cultural wisdom. (3) To identify the roles and challenges of social studies professional teachers in utilizing technology-based learning media as a contemporary learning tool in student character education in welcoming the Society 5.0 Era. Indeed, as a facilitator in the learning process, a teacher's role goes beyond just delivering content. They play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students, evaluating their progress, and encouraging continuous skill development. In the context of technology-based learning applications and the challenges brought forth by the Era of Society 5.0, teachers must possess information and technology literacy to effectively integrate technology into their teaching practices. To produce students who are active, creative, innovative, and think critically, educators must adopt a learner-centered approach and implement effective teaching strategies.

Abstract

This research intends to identify how the application of demonstration teaching and learning methods is applied to social studies lessons in elementary schools. This study uses a research formulation that explorer social issues and will be thoroughly, broadly and deeply examined. Library research procedures are used for this type of research. With the method of gathering information from a variety of relevant library materials, including novels, diaries, posts and others related to the application of demonstration procedures in social studies lessons in elementary schools. The Application of the demonstration procedure was carried out in 2 steps, namely the planning step and the implementation step. Procedure demonstration of use is efficient because procedure demonstration encourages students become active in learning and this will also make the learning given in class seem more meaningful so that it makes it easier for students to understand and remember the lessons delivered by the teacher.

Abstract

Teachers as the main role holders in learning are required to have competencies that are in line with learning objectives. These competencies include pedagogic competence, personal competence, social competence and professional competence. The importance of teacher professionalism will be one of the determining factors for a quality education process because teachers should master and utilize various resources to support learning including mastering science, information and communication technology in accordance with the times. Technology is the result of the development of science, which was born from the world of education itself. Therefore, it is appropriate for education to utilize technology to assist the implementation of learning. In technology-based learning activities, teachers can create even develop an interactive learning media for creating an educative interactive learning’s atmosphere between teachers and students, students and students, as well as students with the environment as a source of learning to support the achievement of learning objectives. Teachers must always think more creative such as how to collaborate an innovating learning media that will be given to students, namely by using interactive learning media or digital multimedia-based. The learning website as an example of interactive learning media is a web-based learning media that can be used as a support for the learning process. However, to create these learning websites, teachers are often constrained by their limited ability to apply ICT. Mastery of computers and the internet in the learning process is still not optimal so that it affects the competence of teachers in applying ICT to create interactive learning media.

Abstract

The writing of this article aims to: (1). Sustainability of the carrying capacity of the environment through Mulung local wisdom on Lapang-Batang Island; (2). Efforts to maintain Mulung local wisdom from the development of the tourism industry; (3). Supporting and inhibiting factors for the sustainability of environmental carrying capacity through Mulung local wisdom. The type of qualitative research used in this research is a case study, in which the researcher raises the phenomenon of the sustainability of the carrying capacity of the environment through Mulung local wisdom. Data collection techniques in this study were participatory observation, interviews, documentation and document studies. Data analysis techniques in this study used interactive models from Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.The results of the research show that the implementation of Mulung local wisdom is very beneficial for nature and humans and can prevent damage to nature from destructive efforts. The availability of biological natural resources in the waters of Lapang-Batang Island has an effect on increasing the economic aspect and the availability of jobs. The territorial waters of Lapang-Batang Island which are included in the customary territory of the Baranusa family have been registered with the Customary Territory Registration Agency which gives authority to the customary institutions of the Baranusa family to manage and preserve nature for the welfare of the community. Expansion of capitalism becomes a threat and challenge externally in an effort to maintain natural sustainability with local wisdom.
