Abstract

Bipolar transistor performances can be characterized by figures of merit such as cut-off frequency, maximum frequency of oscillation and Emitter Coupled Logic gate delay. We studied the required figures of merit for digital application and the effects of lateral and vertical scaling to the figures of merit of SiGe Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor. With lateral scaling, the width of emitter finger is scaled down from 0.25 to 0.12 μm while with the vertical scaling, the base width is scaled down to reduce the base delay. We also observed the effects of Ge profile and Ge fraction to the devices performances. Bipole3 5.3.1G is used to help us in the study. We found that high frequency cut-off and maximum frequency of oscillation as well as low Emitter Coupled Logic gate delay are all important for digital applications. Scaling down the emitter finger width enhanced the maximum frequency of oscillation and reduced Emitter Coupled Logic gate delay significantly while scaling down the base width increased the cutoff frequency and current gain.

Abstract

This paper proposed the method of measuring glucose level in solution using near infrared light (NIR) and photodiode sensor. We studied noises that occurred on the output signal of NIR sensor in three different room conditions in order to know the effects on this sensor output voltage stability. The sensor’s circuit consisted of a 1450 nm NIR light emitting diode, a photodiode as the receiver, transimpedance amplifier, a notch filter, and a 4th order low pass filter. The results indicated that sunlight passing through windows was the most influencing factor caused the unstable sensor output voltage. Filters removed the effective voltages and the average sensor output voltages from the three rooms were 4.6825 V for air media, 2.2809 V for water media and 2.3368 V for glucose solution media. The output voltages tended to increase for one-hour measurement about 10 to 40 mV for air media, 40 to 90 mV for water media and 30 to 80 mV for glucose solution media. This sensor could only be used in a short time and suitable in a room without sunlight. Based on the voltage difference of the average sensor output voltage with water and glucose solution media, the sensor had the potential to be a blood glucose level meter.

Abstract

In order to manage their blood glucose level, diabetics have to test their blood glucose level regularly. Unfortunately, the current blood glucose measurement device is uncomfortable, painful, event costly for the diabetics; therefore, a lot of effort is given to develop a noninvasive blood glucose meter. We studied the potential of two near infrared wavelength i.e. 1450 and 940 nm as glucose sensor. Each sensor consists of a light emitting diode (LED) as light source, a photodiode that is sensitive to that wavelength, transimpedance amplifier, and filters. An acrylic box size 5cmx1cmx5cm was used as glucose solution container. The LED and photodiode were located at each side of box width, at 1 cm distance. The container was than filled with various concentrations of glucose solution, and the sensor output voltages were measured. The results show that for glucose concentration 0 to 500 mg/dl, the output voltages of the 1450 nm sensor tend to lower when the glucose concentration is higher, therefore it has the potential to be used as glucose sensor. Different result is obtained from the 940 nm sensor where the output voltages were remained the same when the glucose concentration was varied.

Abstract

The use of information technology (IT) and internet networks is considered to be able to meet human needs in various sector. This is evidenced by the increasing availability of applications to be a media for data and information transactions about business by mobile-based applications that is marketplace. One indicator of the success of achieving a country's development is determined by human resources which can improve with education and workshop, event through by formal and non-formal channels. Role of Faculty of Industrial Technology, Trisakti University as an academic institution has carried out one of the functions of Tri Dharma of Higher Education that is community service activities which partnership with Family Welfare Empowerment cadres of Gambir District. The aims of this activity is to tarin for using marketplace based on mobile application  to provide Family Welfare Empowerment cadres knowledge and skills to be able to promote and sell their products by online. These activity method uses are with seminar method for provide material about the introduction of the marketplace and workshop for use this application. From the results of this activity, it shows about participants satisfaction with score are 90 % and level of benefit of this training materials provided are 90%. The practical benefits form this training are to give knowledge for cadres for support the community to be able in improvement people's living standardsABSTRAK:Penerapan teknologi informasi (TI) dan jaringan internet dinilai dapat memenuhi kebutuhan manusia di berbagai bidang. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan semakin banyaknya ketersediaan aplikasi untuk dapat menjadi media transaksi data dan informasi tentang bisnis melalui aplikasi berbasis mobile berupa marketplace. Salah satu indikator keberhasilan pencapaian pembangunan suatu negara ditentukan oleh sumber daya manusia. Peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia dapat melalui pendidikan dan keterampilan baik yang dijalankan melalui jalur formal maupun non formal. Pada kesempatan kali ini, Fakultas Teknologi Industri Universitas Trisakti selaku institusi akademik telah melakukan salah satu fungsi dari Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi berupa kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) yang bermitra dengan kader Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) Kecamatan Gambir. Pada kegiatan PKM tersebut, berisikan tentang pelatihan untuk penggunaan aplikasi marketplace berbasis aplikasi mobile yang bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada kader PKK untuk dapat memasarkan dan menjual produk hasil karya masyarakat. Metode kegiatan PKM ini menggunakan metode seminar untuk pemberian materi tentang pengenalan marketplace dan pelatihan untuk menggunakan aplikasi tersebut. Dari hasil kegiatan PKM, menunjukan bahwa manfaat yang diberikan dari pelatihan tersebut, memperoleh nilai kepuasan dari peserta pelatihan sebesar 90 % dan tingkat kebermanfaatan materi pelatihan yang diberikan yaitu sebesar 90 %. Adapun manfaat praktis yang didapatkan dari pelatihan ini, diharapkan dapat menjadi modal bagi para kader PKK dalam memberdayakan peran serta masyarakat sekitar untuk dapat meningkatkan taraf  hidup masyarakat

Abstract

In the past half-century, scaling has been used to improve semiconductor devices performance. In this paper, we study the effects of scaling on SiGe(C) heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs) performances i.e. cutoff frequency (fT), maximum frequency of oscillation (fmax) and gate delay (τg). The SiGe HBT scaling models are developed from more than twenty years accumulated reported data. The results show that the peak cutoff frequency shows an increasing trend with emitter width scaling with a factor of ~WE-0.719, the peak maximum frequency of oscillation shows an increasing trend with emitter width scaling with a factor of ~WE-0.723 and the gate delay shows a decreasing trend with emitter width scaling with a factor of ~WE0.778. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v14i1.7469

Abstract

Smaller bandgap material in the base of SiGe HBT is obtained by using high doping concentration and Germanium addition into the base of silicon bipolar transistor. In this work, a simple natural logarithm model bandgap narrowing due heavy doping in the base of SiGe HBT is proposed. The model is developed using least square method for the data collected by Hueting. This simple formulation is very useful to derive an analytical model of SiGe HBT. To test the validity of our model, we compare our model with other models used by Hueting and Sze as well as experimental data that have already been published. The result shows that our model of bandgap narrowing is in good agreement with the experimental data. Keywords: Modeling, bandgap energy, doping concentration, HBT SiGe. ABSTRAK Basis HBT SiGe dibuat dari campuran bahan Silikon dan Germanium yang mempunyai celah pita energi lebih sempit dari celah pita energi bahan Silikon. Penyempitan celah pita energi ini selain terjadi karena penambahan bahan Germanium, juga terjadi karena penggunaan konsentrasi doping yang tinggi pada basis. Pada makalah ini dibahas pengembangan model penyempitan celah pita energi yang disebabkan oleh konsentrasi doping pada basis HBT SiGe dengan menggunakan metode kuadrat terkecil. Model dibuat dalam bentuk logaritma natural sederhana sehingga memudahkan dalam perhitungan kinerja HBT SiGe yang berbentuk pangkat eksponensial penyempitan celah pita energi. Model yang dibuat dibandingkan dengan model-model lain yang digunakan oleh Hueting dan Sze. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa model penyempitan bandgap yang dibuat dapat merepresentasikan data eksperimen lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model lainnya. Abstract

In this paper, the design of integrated height, weight, and body temperature measurement device based on Arduino Uno and LabVIEW with targeted error less than 1% is reported. Ultrasonic sensor HC-SRF04 is used to measure height, a load cell sensor is used to measure weight, and LM35 sensor is used to measure body temperature. This device is controlled by Arduino Uno board and is equipped with 2 x 40 LCD, as well as PC/HMI with LabVIEW software to display the measurement results in the form of graphics. The measurement’s result can be saved as a Ms. Access database. The test result shows that the device works well indicated by less than 1% average error and less than 0.447 standard deviation value.Pada makalah ini disampaikan hasil perancangan prototipe pengukur tinggi, berat, dan suhu badan yang terintegrasi berbasis Arduino Uno dan LabVIEW. Prototipe dirancang dengan target error kurang dari 1%. Sensor-sensor yang digunakan pada prototipe adalah sensor ultrasonik HC-SRF04 untuk mengukur tinggi badan, sensor load cell untuk mengukur berat badan, dan sensor LM35 untuk mengukur suhu badan. Sebagai pengendali  digunakan board Arduino Uno. Selain itu, alat ini dilengkapi dengan LCD 2 x 40 dan PC/HMI dengan software LabVIEW untuk menampilkan hasil pengukuran dalam bentuk grafik. Hasil pengukuran dapat disimpan pada database Ms. Access. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa prototipe bekerja dengan baik sesuai rancangan. Hasil pengukuran tinggi, berat, dan suhu badan menunjukkan bahwa alat ukur bekerja dengan baik yang ditunjukkan dengan error rata-rata kurang dari 1% dan standar deviasi kurang dari 0,447.

Abstract

Electricity is one of the most important human needs today. Since power plants use fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum and natural gas, excessive use of electricity can cause environmental problems such as air pollution and global warming that can release CO2 and other gases known as the greenhouse effect into the atmosphere. Fossil fuels will also run out over time and cannot be renewed and held in a short time. Cideng Village is a village in Gambir District located in Central Jakarta. Based on a survey conducted in October 2023 in Cideng Village, it is known that  housewives complain about increasing household expenses. One of the considerable expenses in fulfilling daily life is the cost of paying monthly electricity usage contributions. Based on the above problems, the Electrical Engineering Study Program in the implementation of the Community Service Program for the academic year 2023-2024 in collaboration with cadres of Family Welfare Empowerment in Cideng Village has held counseling program on how to save electrical energy and how to safely use electrical energy in households. The implementation method used is to provide counseling. From the results of the questionnaire distributed to the participants before and after counseling, it was found that knowledge about how to save electrical energy increased from 76% to 92%. From the answers to the questionnaire for the evaluation of the implementation of activities, it can be seen that this activity is very useful because it gets good and excellent grades of 90% ABSTRAK Listrik merupakan salah satu kebutuhan manusia yang paling penting saat ini. Karena pembangkit listrik menggunakan bahan bakar fosil seperti batu bara, minyak bumi dan gas alam maka penggunaan listrik yang berlebihan dapat menyebabkan masalah lingkungan seperti pencemaran udara dan pemanasan global yang dapat melepaskan gas CO2 dan gas-gas lainnya yang dikenal sebagai efek rumah kaca ke atmosfer. Bahan bakar fosil lama kelamaan juga akan habis dan tidak dapat diperbarui dan diadakan dalam waktu yang singkat. Kelurahan Cideng adalah sebuah kelurahan di Kecamatan Gambir yang terletak di Jakarta Pusat. Berdasarkan survey yang telah dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2023 di Kelurahan Cideng diketahui bahwa ibu-ibu rumah tangga mengeluhkan pengeluaran biaya rumah tangga yang terus meningkat. Salah satu pengeluaran yang cukup besar dalam memenuhi kehidupan sehari-hari adalah pengeluaran biaya untuk membayar iuran pemakaian listrik bulanan. Berdasarkan permasalahan di atas maka Program Studi Teknik Elektro dalam pelaksanaan Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat tahun akademik 2023-2024 bekerjasama dengan para kader Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga di Kelurahan Cideng telah mengadakan program penyuluhan cara menghemat energi listrik dan cara aman menggunakan energi listrik dalam rumah tangga. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan adalah dengan memberikan penyuluhan. Dari jawaban kuesioner yang dibagikan sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan ke para peserta diketahui terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan tentang cara menghemat energi listrik dari 76% menjadi 92%. Dari jawaban kuesioner untuk evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan dapat diketahui bahwa kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat  karena mendapat nilai baik dan sangat baik sebesar 90%.
