Abstract

Abstract

This research is aimed to describe soil phosphorus  and pottasium spread in 200 Cropping Intensity paddy field. Location in Tanjung Rejo village Percut Sei Tuan sub district Deli Serdang district, Laboratory of Geographic Information System Agriculture Department of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Laboratory of Soil Chemical and Indonesian Oil Palm Research Institute Laboratory. Soil sampling was done with free grid of storey level semi detail method. Parameters were soil phosphate (HCl 25%) and Soil Pottasium (HCl 25%) and questioner of paddy field. The data was analyzed with interpolation method. The result showed that soil phosphorus spread divided into two criteria’s, respectively medium and high. In the medium criteria was 0,7% of total area and for high criteria was 99,3% of total area with phosphate fertilizer recommendation is SP-36 75 kg / ha / season for medium P2O5 nutrient status and SP-36 50 kg / ha / season for high P2O5 nutrient status. While in soil pottasium spread divided into three criteria’s, the low criteria was 0,4% of total area, for medium criteria 23,7% of total area and for high criteria was 75,9% of total area. with pottasium fertilizer recommendation is KCl 50 kg / ha / season for low K2O nutrient status and no need to fertilized for medium and high K2O nutrient status. Keywords: cropping intensity, fertilization, interpolation, soil phosphorus, soil pottasium.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research to mapping and compare Soil nutrient status cause by increased Rice Field Cultivation Index in Desa Baru Kecamatan Batang Kuis Kabupaten Deli Serdang. The research was conducted in Desa Baru Kecamatan Batang Kuis Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Research and Technology of Laboratory Agriculture Faculty USU and Research Laboratory PT. Socfindo is done from October 2016 to March 2017, using the Free Survey Grid method with level of  a scale is 1: 10,000 (1 sample representing 1 ha of paddy field). Parameters observed included C-Organic Soil (Walkley and Black), N-Total Soil (Kjedahl Method), P2O5 (25% HCl Extract), K2O ( 25% HCl Extract). The results from Laboratory analysis were grouped using the Land Research Center's criteria in 1983. Mapping and comparing the soil nutrient status (C-organik, N, P2O5, K2O) were done using Geographic Information System (GIS) with Interpolation technique. The result showed there was decreased of C-Organic soil, Nitrogen and K2O due to by the increased of Rice Field (IP), no decrease of nutrient status P2O5 due to by the increase of Rice Field Cultivation.             Keywords: Crop Index (IP), Rice Field, Geographic Information System (GIS).

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the influence of brown algae (Sargassum polycystum) enriched by N, P, K fertilizer to the chemical properties of ultisol soil and Alium cepa L. production. This research was conducted in June-October 2017 using non factorial randomized design with 7 treatments and 4 replications ie P0 (Control), P1 (liquid compost (3x aplications) without enriched), P2 (liquid compost (3x aplications + 2 g urea + 5 g SP36 + 0.5 g KCl), P3 (liquid compost (3x aplications + 1 g urea + 2.5 g SP36 + 0.25 g KCl), P4 (liquid compost ( 6x aplications + 2 g urea + 5 g SP36 + 0.5 g KCl), P6 (liquid compost (6x aplications + 1 g urea + 2.5 g SP36 + 0.25 g KCl) The parameters observed were soil pH, N-total, P-available, K-dd, C-organic, dry weight of shoot, and dry weight of bulb. The results showed that brown algae (Sargassum polycystum) enriched by N, P, K fertilizer can  increasing the pH of soil, P-available, K-dd, C-organic, dry weight of bulb and dry weight of shoot. The best dose was P2 (liquid compost (3x aplications + 2 g urea + 5 g SP36 + 0.5 g of KCl) to P-available, dry weight of shoot and dry weight of tuber.

Abstract

Sibarau Sub-Watershed is one of the Sub-Watershed of Padang Watershed. Land area with semi critical criteria in the Sibarau Watershed is 1471.83 hectares or 20% of the total entire Sibarau Watershed critical land area. This research was conducted to analyze and determinecharacteristic of soil physical and soil chemical in semi critical land area at sub-watershed Sibarau Durian Baggal village, Raya Kahean. research area are palm, rubber, mix plant, duku and forestry. The research was conducted at Soil Chemistry and Biology Laboratory and Research and Technology Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatera. The Research Held in July until September 2017.The research was conducted by using survey method of sampling surveys with. Analyzed of soil pH with methods electrometry, soil organic matter with Walkley and Black method, and soil texture with Hydrometer Bouyoucos method. The results showed that on palm land soil acidity was acidic, C-organics very low and texture wasis sandy loam.On rubber land soil acidity was acidic, C-organics low and very low, texture is sandy loam. On mix plant land soail acidty is acidic, C-organics was low til very low and soil texture was sandy loam. On duku land soil acidity was acidic , C-Organics was low and soil texture was sandy loam. On forestry lan soil aciity was medium acidic, C-organics was medium and soil textutre was loamy sandKeywords: soil acidity, organic carbon, texture, semi critical land, sibarau sub-watershed

Abstract

ABSTRACT Soil's physical properties are one of the factors that influence the productivity of shallots. This research aims to determine the correlation of soil's physical properties towards productivity of shallots in Watershed of Lake Toba. This research was carried out in the center of the shallot planting area in the area of Lake Toba, Muara District, Bakti Raja District, Silahisabungan District, Merek District, Haranggaol District, and Samosir Island, which have at altitude 911 – 1432 meters above sea level. This research used survey methods which includes literature studies, preparation of the questionnaire, survey around of Lake Toba and processing data from survey in Lake Toba area. The results showed that soil's physical properties and the productivity of shallots had a correlation with value of r = 0.71. The best soil texture for the cultivation of shallots in Watershed of Lake Toba  is sandy loam. Keywords : shallots, soil's physical properties, Watershed of Lake Toba
