Abstract

Bank is one of the financial institution which have activities to raise funds from public in the form of savings and distribute them to the public in from of credit or other form. The purpose of the banking business is gain profit. Ability of the banks in gain profit is measured by return on assets (ROA). The purpose of this research is to examine influence of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non Performing Loan (NPL), Net Interest Margin (NIM), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and BOPO through Return On Asset (ROA) of public banking listed at Indonesian Stok Exchange during 2007-2010. Research using purposive sampling method for taking samples. Data obtained on the basis of publication Annual Bank, obtained 20 samples of General Bank. Samples used in this research are public banking listed at Indonesian Stock Exchange on period 2007-2010. Analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this research found that Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) hasn’t significant positive effect to Return On Asset (ROA), Non Performing Loan (NPL) hasn’t significant negative effect to Return Asset (ROA), Net Interest Margin (NIM) has significant positive effect to Return On Asset (ROA), and BOPO has significant negative effect to Return On Asset (ROA).

Abstract

In this globalization era, a lot of investors who do not have much time in managing theirfunds and limited expertise to calculate the risks of their investments are doing. Now is not the major problem that prevents investors to invest for potential investors can give confidence to the investment managers to manage their funds. This study aimed to determine whether the performance of equity funds have performed better than the market as a comparator (IHSG) by using Sharpe and Treynor and to see is there a difference in ratings between Sharpe methods and Treynor methods.There were 10 mutual funds which are used as a sample study. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. This study uses Sharpe and Treynor methods. The type of data used is secondary data is data that NAB is a sample of March 2011 to March 2012 in the form of daily data. Mutual funds are said to have good performance when the greater value of Sharpe and Treynor ratio, the better the performance of mutual fund.The results of the analysis using the Sharpe suggests that there are 5 (five) Mutual Funds that have a good performance and are 5 (five) Mutual Funds have performed below IHSG performance analysis using Treynor shows that there are 9 Mutual Funds that have performed well. There are 5 (five) Equity Funds have not changed either using the method of Sharpe and Treynor and 5 (five) Equity Fund those rating changed either using the Sharpe and Treynor methods

Abstract

Earning management is a management action to manage the profitability of a company. This study aims to examine the effect of corporate governance, leverage and firm size on the earning management practices. Corporate governance performed by independent commissioners proportion, audit committee, and managerial ownership. The dependent variable, earnings management, is measured by the discretionary accrual. This study uses secondary data were taken from the manufacturing companies which are listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange. 37 manufacturing companies selected as study samples on the period of 2014 until 2018 based on purposive sampling method. The analytical method for this study uses multiple linear regression using the classical assumption test and regression analysis with a significance level of 5%. Based on the results of research that simultaneously uses the F test variable independent commissioners proportion, audit committee, managerial ownership, leverage, and firm size significantly influence the earning management. The result of partial testing using the T test show that independent commissioners proportion, audit committee, managerial ownership, leverage, and firm size have a negative and significant effect on earning management.
