Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana Kemampuan Literasi Matematika (KLM) siswa pada materi Aritmatika Sosial berdasarkan kategori KLM dan gaya belajar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data mengunakan angket  untuk mengetahui gaya belajar siswa, dan soal tes kemampuan literasi matematika. Teknik analis data meliputi tahapan pengurangan data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) skor rata-rata siswa untuk kategori KLM tinggi sebesar 91,4 %, KLM sedang sebesar 55,0 %, KLM rendah sebesar 35,1 %; 2) skor rata-rata KLM siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori sebesar  60,8%, KLM siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik sebesar  60,2%, dan KLM siswa dengan gaya belajar kelompok sebesar  60,6%. Siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori dan KLM tinggi  dapat menjawab soal nomor 1, 2, 3, 4, dan 6 dengan tepat. Siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik dan KLM tinggi dapat menjawab soal nomor 1 dan 6 dengan tepat. Siswa dengan gaya belajar kelompok pada KLM tinggi dapat menjawab soal nomor 1, 3, 5, dan 6 dengan tepat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa secara keseluruhan dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa berdasarkan tipe kepribadian pada materi Bentuk Aljabar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan angket untuk mengetahui tipe kepribadian dan soal tes penalaran matematis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, siswa di kelas VIII Perguruan Advent XV Ciracas tergolong memiliki KPM sedang sebanyak 46% siswa. Siswa melankolis dengan KPM tinggi memenuhi indikator 1 sampai 5. Siswa sanguinis dengan KPM tinggi memenuhi indikator 2 dan 5. Siswa plegmatis dengan KPM tinggi memenuhi indikator 2 dan 5. Siswa koleris dengan KPM tinggi memenuhi indikator 2,3, dan 5. Penelitian ini memberikan kesimpulan bahwa terdapat hubungan tipe kepribadian dengan hasil kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the mathematical understanding ability of junior high school students through the application of contextual learning model type Hands-on Activity (HOA) and SAVI learning (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intelectual). The design of this study uses a comparative casual. The research sample consisted of 55 VIII grade students of SMPN 10 Cimahi, West Java. The research instruments used were test and non-test instruments. The test instrument consisted of mathematical understanding questions about the construction of the plan figures, and the non-test was in the form of a questionnaire of students' responses to the learning strategy. Hypothesis testing used was the t-test at a significant level (α = 0.05). The results of the study show that: are 1) The students' mathematical understanding ability has increased in the moderate category, 2) There is a difference in increasing mathematical understanding ability between students who obtain the contextual learning model type Hands-on Activity (HOA) and students who obtain the SAVI model (Somatic, Auditory, Visual, and Intellectual, 3) Students respond favorably to the contextual type of Hands-on Activity (HOA) learning model and the SAVI learning model.

Abstract

This comparative design study aims to find out how to improve student’s mathematical communication skills using cooperative learning models and Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) and Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) type, and to find out whether there are differences between the two. The sample in this study were students of class VIII C and VIII D in SMP Negeri 3 Parongpong, Bandung Barat. The instrument used in this study was a mathematical communication ability test instrument and a non-test instrument in the form of a response questionnaire. The results showed that increasing mathematical communication skills of students who obtained the cooperative learning model SFAE type and CIRC were categorized as moderate. Statistically, there is no significant difference on mathematical communication ability between students who obtained the SFAE and the CIRC . The results of the questionnaire showed that student’s really liked the cooperative learning model type of SFAE and liked the type of CIRC.

Abstract

This research aims to determine how the students’ math anxiety based on gender during the covid-19 pandemic. The respondents of this research are 200 students of SMP Advent Unklab Airmadidi Manado. The data collection technique applied is the math anxiety questionnaire. The method of this research is a quantitative method. The results show that mean of male students’ math anxiety is equal to 60,20% while for female students is equal to 58,92%. The results also show that math anxiety of male students is not higher or equal to math anxiety of female students. The aspects of math anxiety, namely the cognitive, affective, psychomotor and somatic aspects of male students are not higher or equal to female students.

Abstract

The study aims to which is a quantitative descriptive research, is to examine the ability of junior high school students to represent mathematical concepts comparatively, based on their gender. The participants were students in 7th grade at Cimindi Advent Middle School during the 2023/2024 academic year, with a total of 20 female and 19 male students. The research utilized a test to evaluate the mathematical representation abilities of the students. The collected data was analyzed by using techniques as data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of the study revealed that the average mathematical representation ability score of the female students was 45.42%, while the average score of male students was 34.06%. Female and male students can represent mathematically on the subject of comparison in the low category. But when viewed from gender, three female students are in high sort with average of 76.85%. In medium category, there are two people with average of 66.67%, and in low class, there are 15 people with an average – average 36.30%. There is one male student with a high ability with average of 75%. In the medium category, there are three people with average of 61.11%, and in the low sort, there are 15 people with an average of 25.93%. While the overall results for KRM were based on indicators of female visual representation 42.5% and male visual representations 31.6%, while the overall results for KRM were based on hands of representation of female mathematical equations/expressions 39% and representation of male mathematical equations/expressions 39.5%, and the overall result for KRM based on indicators of representation of written words/texts for women is 46.7% and model for words/written texts for men is 25.9%. Based on the overall results of female and male students for KRM based on indicators, there is no difference in the low category.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematical communication ability of junior highschool students. Research using cooperative learning model type Student Teams AchievementDivision (STAD) and Buzz Group type. This research uses two classes namely class VII-A andVII-E SMPN 3 Parongpong, West Bandung. The test instrument is a test of mathematicalcommunication ability on the subject of data presentation. Non-test instruments are aquestionnaire of student responses to know their preferences and benefits for mathematicslearning. The test used is t-test at the 0.05 significance level. The results showed that: 1)Student's mathematical communication ability before obtaining cooperative learning typeStudent Teams Achievement Division (STAD) and Buzz Group type are not different and are inlow category. Abstract

Abstract: Mathematical communication is the ability of students to explain mathematical ideas both verbally and writing. But students' mathematical communication skills are still very low compared to other countries. The purpose of this research was to find out whether there were an increase in mathematical communication skills of students who obtained the cooperative learning model Question Students Have or Fishbowl type, and the students' responses to the learning model. The sample in this research were students of VA and VC, SD KARTIKA X-3 Parongpong, West Bandung. The instrument used is a mathematical communication skills test in the form of subjective questions related to the material "Collection and Presentation of Single Data". The statistical test used is a two-mean difference test, t-test at a significant level of 0.05. The results showed that (1) The increase of students' mathematical communication skills through cooperative learning models Question Students Have and Fishbowl types were in the medium category. (2) There is no significant difference in the increase of mathematical communication skills between students who get the cooperative learning model Question Students Have type and students who get Fishbowl type learning model. (3) Students' responses to mathematics learning using cooperative learning models Question Students Have type is in the "like" category while Fishbowl type is in the "really like" category. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa SMP melalui pembelajaran Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting and Extending (CORE) dan pembelajaran Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review, and Reflect (SQ4R). Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswa dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas VIII-F dan VIII-D SMPN 26 Bandung. Intstrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada pokok bahasan persamaan garis lurus. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa sebelum memperoleh pembelajaran CORE dan pembelajaran SQ4R tidak berbeda dan berada pada kategori rendah. Setelah perlakuan kemampuan komunikasi matematis mengalami peningkatan. Peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran CORE dan pembelajaran SQ4R berada pada kategori sedang, 2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran CORE dan pembelajaran SQ4R.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan representasi matematis siswa SMP mada materi kubus dan balok berdasarkan gender. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu di SMP Advent Cimindi Kota Bandung kelas VII yang berjumlah 38 siswa, yang dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan melakukan tes kemampuan representasi matematis kepada siswa, yaitu representasi gambar, representasi verbal, dan representasi symbol. Siswa diberikan soal sebanyak 5 uraian yang sesuai dengan indicator kemampuan representasi matematis pada materi kubus dan balok. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan jumlah siswa pada kategori KRM tinggi  18,42% ,  kategori KRM sedang 71,05%, dan kategori KRM rendah 18,42%. Rata-rata KRM siswa perempuan 80,55% , dan rata-rata KRM siswa laki-laki 58,23%.  Pada kategori tinggi terdapat rata-rata KRM siswa perempuan 97,53% ,dan siswa laki-laki 100%. Pada kategori sedang rata-rata KRM siswa perempuan 74,93% dan siswa laki-laki  60,05%; sedangkan pada kategori rendah rata-rata KRM siswa perempuan 51,58% dan laki-laki 35,80%. Siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki pada kategori KRM tinggi memiliki nilai rata-rata KRM gambar adalah tinggi, sedangkan siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki yang pada kategori KRM sedang dan KRM rendah memiliki nilai rata-rata KRM gambar yang rendah. Siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki pada kategori KRM tinggi memiliki nilai rata-rata KRM verbal adalah tinggi. Siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki yang pada kategori KRM sedang cenderung memiliki nilai rata-rata KRM verbal yang sedang. Sedangkan siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki yang pada kategori KRM rendah memiliki nilai rata-rata KRM verbal yang rendah. Siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki pada kategori KRM tinggi memiliki nilai rata-rata KRM simbol adalah tinggi. Siswa perempuan pada kategori KRM tinggi dan siswa laki-laki pada kategori KRM sedang. Siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki yang pada kategori KRM rendah memiliki nilai rata-rata KRM simbol yang rendah. KRM siswa perempuan lebih tinggi dari KRM laki-laki secara signifikan.
