Abstract

This article aims to develop the animation media of hero Sisingamangaraja XII which is digitally packaged in the 4.0 era of students so that they can enhance the national character of national heroes in their regions. The location of the study was conducted in the first semester students of the basics of developing social studies material at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Medan State University. Research refers to Borg & Gall's research and development research theories and models. The development model is summarized into three stages of activities namely (1) a preliminary study, namely: observation and study of literature. (2) Development is carried out by making scripts, storyboards and making video animations. (3) The evaluation phase consists of evaluating the media and material experts and evaluating small groups. This media deserves to be utilized with the results of the validation of 85% of instructional media experts and product trials. This shows that this animation media is very populated as learning media of the digital era 4.0, especially learning materials, Fundamentals of Social Sciences material.

Abstract

Nande-nande perengge-rengge adalah perempuan Karo yang bekerja sebagai pedagang eceran sayur-mayur di Pasar Raya Medan Metropolitan Trade Centre (MMTC) di Kota Medan. Sebagai perempuan Karo, Nande-Nande Perengge-rengge secara kultural seperti mata uang yang memiliki dua sisi, yakni secara kultural berada dibawah laki-laki, dipandang negatif atau mengalami subordinasi perempuan. Disisi lain, secara ekonomi perempuan Karo memegang peranan penting dalam pemenuhan ekonomi keluarga. Tujaun penelitian ini untuk menguraikan kontribusi Nande-nande Perengge-rengge dalam sektor perekonomian keluarga ditengah budaya patriarki dan mengungkapkan peranannya sebagai role model di ruang publik. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kulitatif deskriftif dengan menggunakan teknik analisis etnografi (analisis Spradley). Tahapan penelitian ini terdiri dari studi literatur, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Kontribusi dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan ekonomi keluarga berada di tangan perempuan Karo Nande-nande Perengge-rengge, mereka menjadi tulang punggung atau sumber pendapatan keluarga (pencari nafkah). Melalui bekerja Nande-nande Perengge-rengge membuktikan posisi perempuan setara dengan laki-laki (bahkan lebih tinggi), mereka dapat memposisikan kembali kedudukannya dalam budaya yang patriarki. Sosok pedagang perempuan Karo yang berdikari sendiri dalam pemenuhan ekonomi keluarga, bisa membuka lowongan kerja bagi perempuan lain, sosok good girls yang sukses, pekerja keras, sederhana dan cerdas di ruang publik inilah yang bisa menjadi role model bagi perempuan lain. Nande-nande perengge-rengge is a Karo woman who works as a vegetable retailer at Pasar Raya Medan Metropolitan Trade Center (MMTC) in Medan City. As a Karo woman, Nande-Nande Perengge-rengge culturally is like a coin that has two sides, namely being culturally under men, viewed negatively or experiencing women's subordination. On the other hand, economically Karo women play an important role in fulfilling the family economy. The purpose of this study is to describe the contribution of Nande-nande Perengge-rengge in the family economy sector in the midst of a patriarchal culture and to reveal its role as a role model in the public sphere. The method in this study is descriptive qualitative using ethnographic analysis techniques (Spradley analysis). The stages of this research consist of literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. Contributions in fulfilling the family's economic needs are in the hands of Karo Nande-nande Perengge-rengge-rengge women, they are the backbone or source of family income and breadwinners. Through the work of Nande-nande Perengge-rengge to prove the position of women as equal to men (even higher), they can reposition their position in a patriarchal culture. The figure of a Karo woman trader who is independent in fulfilling the family economy, can open job vacancies for other women, the figure of good girls who are successful, hardworking, simple and intelligent in the public sphere can be a role model for other women.

Abstract

This research examines the Syekh Zainal Abidin Harahap Mosque as the oldest mosque in Padang Sidempuan City which was founded in 1880 which was self-educated by one of the religious leaders in Padang Sidempuan City, Syekh Zainal Abidin Harahap and still exists today. The study is seen from various sides, namely the development of mosques, acculturation of mosque architecture, and the role of the Sheikh Zainal Abidin Harahap mosque. This mosque has its own uniqueness from other mosques, namely the acculturation of culture found in the mosque, this is the reason why pilgrims visit this mosque for religious tours in addition to performing worship. The acculturation comes from Arabic, Javanese, and Hindu cultures. The Sheikh Zainal Abidin Harahap Mosque has been legalized as a Cultural Heritage object. This type of research is qualitative research using 4 stages of the historical method, namely, 1) Heuristics, 2) Source Criticism, 3) Interpretation, 4) Historiography. This research will be very useful for the field of education, especially the history of the entry of Islam into Indonesia and local history.
