Abstract

The study, entitled "Food security of farm households in the Galeh Watershed Semarang Regency" has an objective to determine the composition of farm household characteristics, income levels and food security of farm households annually. This research used survey method. Research area was determined using purposive sampling method which is in Semarang Regency Village Genting, Rejosari, Brongkol, Kemambang, Ngrapah, and Rowoboni. Respondents are determined by random sampling of 120 households in six villages. Survey results showed that the average age of head family in farm households of Galeh Watershed age is 44.90 years old, which is categorized as productive age group.  Farmers in these villages have an average size of rice fields about 0.26 ha  while average size of garden and land tenure owned are 0.210 and 0.215 ha. Goats are the main livestock in the Galeh Watershed, every family in these villages has more or less 2 goats. Average of income levels of farm household in this watershed is Rp 22,533,792.00. Dominant commodities producing in these villages are paddy, coffee, chili and cauliflower. Rice farming in Rowoboni village has a good performance compared to other village with R/C ratio 2.94. Meanwhile, in Genting village, coffe and red papper farming have given higher performance than other village with R/C ratio 2.03 and 1.64 consecutively.  R/C ratio of White pepper in Rejosari village is 1.61, and cauliflower is in Kemambang Village, with its R/C ratio 1.48. Share of household expenditure is dominated by food expenditure, with average 52.63% of total expenditure in one year. Non-food expenditure of farm households in the Galeh watershed is dominated by children's education costs, which reached an average of 10.71% a year. Purchasing power of farm households in the watershed Galeh is 116.30%, which means that all farm households in the Galeh watershed are able to meet all their needs both food and non food and still have remaining 16.3%. The criteria of household food security levels in Galeh Watershed Semarang Regency considered surplus which reached 1.27. It means that they can produce their own rice around 1,857.15 kg/year and household rice consumption equivalent to 1,456.80 kg/year. Keyword : food security, outcome, income, household.

Abstract

The improvements of rice production, which rice is the main food source for Indonesian people, have been carried out continuously; one of them is through the approach of Integrated Crop Management (ICM). ICM is not solely a technology or technology package but it is the approach of the production problem solution in a local region which applies appropriate technology and it is handpicked by farmers with the help of agricultural extension. The research was conducted to know how far the technology which has been introduced in the ICM are implemented or adopted by farmers viewed from the quality, speed and quantity. The introduced assembly technology is in form of new high-yielding varieties, high quality seed and labelled, increasing crop population through Jajar Legowo, balanced fertilizing, Crop Pests control through Integrated Pest Management approach, giving organic fertilizer, perfect cultivation, planting young seeds, planting 1-3 seeds per stick, intervallic watering, weeding with gasrok and proper harvesting after the harvest. The determination of sampling area is conducted purposively in Boja subdistrict, while the respondents sample are conducted in simple random sampling and obtained 70 farmers. Data analysis method which is used is the scoring based on the determiner component (impact point) while the level of adoption uses Likert's Summated Ratings (LRS) scaling method which are classified into three levels, namely the adoption of high, medium and low; with a low criterion (0,0 to 33,3 %), moderate (33,4 to 66,7%) and high (66,8 to 100%). The research results showed that the quality level of the technology adoption of integrated crop management of rice plant is categorized to moderate (60.61%), the adopted technology component is high-yielding varieties (72.38%), control of crop pests with integrated pest management approach (93.81%), proper soil management (97.14%), planting young seeds (70.71%), planting 1-3 seeds per stick (74.29%), intervallic irrigation (95.71%) and weeding with gasrok/hedgehog (88.98%) while other components are at medium and low categories. The speed and quantity of adoption are measured by the amount of farmers who adopted the ICM component, the analysis showed that the level of speed and quantity of the adoption is in the high category (76.48% and 75.73%). Based on these conditions, the elucidation of the technology which is summarized in the ICM still have to be carried out so that farmers can be more convinced to apply the ICM component. Abstract

This research aim to know profile effort and business area, internal factor and eksternal and alternative of association agribusiness strategy Aspakusa Makmur in expansion of pre-eminent vegetable agribusiness. Primary Data and secondary has been analysed to answer purpose of research. Analysis done by using matrik intenal/eksternal and matrik SWOT. Research responder consisted of official member of association, member of association, on duty agriculture and cooperation partner. Result of analysis matrik IFE to degree of importance based on factor wight - internal strategy influence factor at strength aspect of sequentially from a real important is motivation and loyality official member and member (0,18), supporting facilities for infrastructure (0,17), quality of better product (0,15), mission vision and institution of organization (0,13), and produce of vegetable (0,10). The biggest weakness factor associated is capital member of asosiasi/petani binaan terbatas/kecil and cistern of rain conducting system (0,09). Analysis matrik EFE menunjukan environmental factor eksternal which is highest had an effect on to association based on highest wight value successively is geographical position and conducting region (0,20), market opportunity (0,17), support from on duty sub-province agriculture (0,15), free market commerce (0,13), condition of politics social (0,06). The biggest threat factor is existence of competitor with wight value (0,10). Analysis matrik IE, with internal factor score total value 2,88 that contact with factor score total eksternal 3,19 at cell to 2 from 9 strategy cell. Alternative of strategy which can be done is increase product vegetable with quality, extends marketing, maintains quality of product, farmer access facility to defrayal institute, rekruitmen promotion division, increases quality of packaging, conducting applies greenhouse and net paranet, designs effective training system and studies comparing. Abstract

Paddy is the raw material of rice, where rice is a basic need that is important. Faltering rice self-sufficiency should be sought immediately find a way out, including technology that can answer these problems. One form of technology in the agricultural sector is to improve farming methods and the use of improved seed. The way that to do by farmers to renew farming especially in Kudus is by adopting innovation Jajar Legowo cropping system which is an integrated development concept pioneered by Centers of Agricultural Technology Research (BPTP) in Central Java. The purpose of this study were to determine the accuracy level of the farmer’s adoption in Jajar Legowo cropping systems at Undaan District and to know the problems that occur in Jajar Legowo cropping systems at Undaan District. The village was used as research is Undaan Kidul village, as the village has adopted the Jajar Legowo cropping systems. Taking a sample of farmers conducted in purposive sampling (a total of 100 people who will serve as the respondents in this study). Accuracy level of innovation adoption Jajar Legowo cropping systems in all aspects of belonging to the right (89,75%). This means that most of the respondent farmers have applied as recommended from every aspect of the Jajar Legowo cropping systems in paddy plant. The problems that arise in the innovation adoption of Jajar Legowo cropping system is the aspect of inspection because the aspects of the examination requires special expertise and thoroughness of farmers to examine in detail the condition of their grain crops. Abstract

The purpose of research is to analyze the costs, revenues, income, level of feasibility in terms of BEP Gross B / C on clove leaf oil distillation business in the sub-District Kendal Sukorejo. The methodology used is a case study in the sub-District Kendal Sukorejo. The number of respondents 29 are all entrepreneurs who are distillation in sub-District Kendal Sukorejo, scattered in the village Puwosari, Ngargosari, Pesaren, Tamanrejo, Harjodowo, Damarjati, Mulyosari, Selokaton, Ngadiwarno and Kalibogor. The data used are primary and secondary data. The results showed that in the dry season the average cost incurred for clove leaf oil distillation business in a single distillation process of Rp 1,433,003,-/ distillation unit. The average revenue of Rp 1,615,586,-, so that during the dry season earned income of Rp 182,583,-. Value BEP production quantities clove leaf oil distillation at 16.21 kg and BEP rupiah at          Rp 78,392,-/Kg, gross B/C ratio of 1.13 so that the business is feasible. While the rainy season the average cost incurred for clove leaf oil distillation business in a single distillation process of Rp 684,556,- / distillation unit. The average revenue of     Rp 646,058,-, so that during the rainy season loss of Rp 38,498,-. Value BEP production quantities clove leaf oil distillation at 7.75 Kg and BEP rupiah at Rp 93,264,-/Kg, gross B/C ratio of 0.94 so that the business is not feasible in the rainy season. The conclusion of this research hypotheses 1 and 2 can be accepted, hypothesis 3 can be accepted during the dry season and the rainy season the hypothesis is rejected.
