Abstract

The deaf and speech impaired are loosing of hearing ability followed by disability of developing talking skill in everyday communication.  Disability of making normal communication makes the deaf and speech impaired being difficult to be accepted by major normal community.  Communication used is gesture language, by using hand gesture communication. The weakness of this communication is that misunderstanding and limitation, it’s due to hand gesture is only understood by minor group.  To make effective communication in real time, it’s needed two ways communication that can change the code of hand gesture pattern to the texts and sounds that can be understood by other people. In this research, it’s focused on hand gesture recognition using shaped based hand algorithm where this method classifies image based on hand contour using hausdorff and Euclidian distance to determine the similarity between two hands based on the shortest range.  The result of this research is recognizing 26 letters gesture, the accuracy of this Gesture is 85%, from different human hands, taken from different session with different lighting condition and different range of camera from image.  It also can recognize 70% different hand contour.  The different of this research from other researches is the more the objects are, the less the classification of hands size is. Using this method, hands size can be minimized.

Abstract

Along with the current development, air quality is very vulnerable to being polluted. Factors that affect air quality are an increase in infrastructure development, factories, motor vehicle fumes and any other human activity. Based on these factors, an air quality monitoring system that is integrated into a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) system is needed. In this study, a Wireless Sensor Network will be designed using Multisensor Network technology that works in real time to measure pollutant gas levels using the TGS 2442 sensor as a measure of carbon monoxide (CO) , MG811 sensor as a measure of carbon dioxide (CO2) , TGS 2611 sensor as a measure of HydroCarbon (HC), the DHT-11 sensor as a temperature and humidity meter and the SHARPGP2Y1010 sensor as a measure of particulate levels in the air (PM10). The data from this sensor reading is sent to the server using a Raspberry pi microprocessor. Furthermore, the data will be processed until it becomes information that can be used by users or the general public.

Abstract

Genetic algorithm and TSP are  methods that can be solve optimization problem  of route or path. This paper discusses the application of genetic algorithms and Traveling Salesman Problem modeling (TSP) to those problems. The process of genetic algorithm is the principle of natural selection to find the shortest route, while TSP is Optimization issues to find the shortest journey for traveling traders who want to visit several cities. In addition, this paper compares genetic algorithms with TSP in finding the shortest route. The shortest route search is performed on the ODP device (Optical distribution point) on the FTTH access network passed by the salesman. The results is an optimal routes using genetic algorithms at 4.46 km, on 38 generations of 50 generations. While in TSP modelling is obtained an optimal route at 4.45 km on the second experiment of the twelve experiments. This route will affect the performance of the data transmission process on the FTTH access network, when this network attenuation is less than 28 dB (based on International Telecommunication Union standard). Keywords—  TSP, Genetic Algorithm, Optimization, FTTH.
