Abstract

This present study aimed to analyze the role of self-oriented perfectionism in mediating the effect of fathers? and mothers? parenting styles on Career Decision Self-Efficacy (CDSE) among students in Grade 11 Senior High School. The participants of the study comprised 179 students who were selected through convenience sampling method. This study employed three instruments, namely Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form, Parental Authority Questionnaire, and Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale. Data were analyzed by Hayes?s PROCESS Macro. Generally, the results show that fathers? permissive parenting and mothers? authoritarian parenting have an influence on the degree of CDSE among students which is mediated by self-oriented perfectionism. Moreover, the effect of fathers? authoritative parenting predicts CDSE directly without the mediation effect of self-oriented perfectionism, whilst mothers? authoritative parenting influences CDSE both directly and indirectly. Therefore, considering the actualization of proper parenting styles is necessary in order to build perfectionism personality which supports students? effectiveness in career decision making.Keywords: Career decision self-efficacy, parenting styles, self-oriented perfectionism, studentsAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran perfeksionisme orientasi diri dalam memediasi pengaruh gaya pengasuhan ayah dan ibu terhadap Efikasi Keputusan Diri Keputusan Karir (Career Decision Self-Efficacy/CDSE)  siswa kelas XI SMA. Sebanyak 178 partisipan terkumpul melalui teknik convenience sampling dalam pengisian tiga macam skala, yaitu Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form, Parental Authority Questionnaire, dan Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale yang sudah dilakukan adaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan PROCESS Macro dari Hayes. Secara umum, hasil uji menemukan bahwa gaya pengasuhan permisif ayah dan gaya pengasuhan otoriter ibu berpengaruh terhadap tingkat CDSE siswa melalui perfeksionisme orientasi diri. Sementara itu, pengaruh dari gaya pengasuhan otoritatif ayah terhadap tingkat CDSE siswa hanya terjadi secara langsung. Adapun pengaruh dari gaya pengasuhan otoritatif ibu terhadap tingkat CDSE siswa dapat terjadi baik secara langsung atau tidak langsung melalui mediasi perfeksionisme orientasi diri. Untuk itu, dengan penerapan gaya pengasuhan yang tepat, perkembangan pribadi perfeksionisme siswa dapat mendukung kenaikan efektivitas keputusan karier masa depan.

Abstract

Hasil penelitianini menunjukkanpentingnyadukunganorangtuaterhadappersiapankarierremajasehinggamerekalebihyakinakankemampuannyadalamkeputusankariernya,sehingga dapatlebihberkomitmen terhadappilihankariermereka.Penelitianini memilikiketerbatasankarenatidakmembedakanantara peran ayah dan ibu pada pengukuran parental career-related behaviors, oleh karena itu dalam penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat membedakan kedua peran tersebut.

Abstract

Today, fathers are more involved in children’s caretaking.  This role has shifted the views about family. Fathers who had the function as breadwinners are now also taking the role as caregivers. Unfortunately there are still some inadequacy in caregiving by fathers, especially in communicating with children. This issue needs to be handled because father’s competence in caregiving affects the development of the children to produce positive behavior. Fathers need an intervention to increase their knowledge and skills to communicates with children. One intervention that gives maximum effect is by trained fathers to increase knowledge and skills on active listening. This research is a one group pretest and posttest design type which involved 5 young adult fathers with children aged 4-6 years old and was performed in Depok, West Java. The final result shows a significant differences in fathers’ active listening knowledge and skills before and after receiving the father active listening program.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh parental career-related behaviors pada komitmen terhadap pilihan karier remaja dengan efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier sebagai variabel mediator. Partisipan penelitian adalah siswa-siswi SMA di Jakarta Selatan (N=315). Komitmen terhadap pilihan karier diukur dengan Commitment to Career Choice Scale (CCCS), efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier dengan Career Decision Self-Efficacy Short Form (CDSE-SF), serta persepsi anak terhadap perilaku orang tua terkait karier dengan Parental Career-Related Behaviors (PCB). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa parental career-related behaviors yang mendukung (B=-0, 0212, p<0,001), mengganggu (B=0,001, p<0,001), dan kurang terlibat (B=0,138, p<0,01) berpengaruh signifikan pada komitmen terhadap pilihan karier remaja dimensi vocational exploration and commitment (VEC) melalui efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier. Parental career-related behaviors yang mendukung (B=-0,220, p<0, 001), mengganggu (B=0,139, p<0,001), dan kurang terlibat (B=0,073, p<0, 01) juga berpengaruh signifikan pada komitmen terhadap pilihan karier remaja dimensi tendency to foreclose (TTF) melalui efikasi diri dalam pengambilan keputusan karier. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat, tampaknya dukungan orang tua tetap diperlukan pada remaja dalam perkembangan kariernya. Hasil penelitian akan didiskusikan lebih lanjut dalam hubungannya dengan teori dan penelitian sebelumnya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pelatihan “mengasuh dengan empati, mengasuh dengan hati” dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan parental empathyibu-ibu bhayangkari. Penelitian ini berbentuk pelatihan dengan dasar pikiran experiential learningyang diberikan pada sekelompok ibu-ibu bhayangkari yang memiliki anak usia 3 sampai 5 tahun, dan merupakan penelitian dengan one group pretestdan posttest design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Jakarta Timur dengan melibatkan partisipan sebanyak 13 orang ibu yang memiliki anak usia 3-5 tahun dengan diberikan pelatihan sebanyak 10 sesi dalam waktu 4 hari. Pretest dan posttest diberikan sebelum dan setelah pelatihan dengan instrumen yang mengukur kemampuan parental empathy berdasarkan Eagle dan Bylund Makoul yang dirancang oleh peneliti. Hasil pretestdan post testdiuji dengan uji non parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank menunjukkan level signifikansi p.value0,003 (<0,05). Hasil ini berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara nilai pre-testdan post-test. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan “Mengasuh dengan Empati, Mengasuh dengan Hati” dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan parental empathyibu. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah melakukan kunjungan rumah kepada partisipan agar partisipan memperoleh umpan balik langsung dan kemampuan parental empathy akan lebih meningkat. Kata kunci: Pelatihan, Mengasuh dengan empati, Empati, Pengasuhan, Parental empathy, Ibu

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Student-athletes are faced with two possible carrier choices either to remain athletes in the long term or to choose an alternative path. When they are not engaged in their choice, this may lead to indecision in the future. Furthermore, a need analysis conducted at Vocational High School X showed that student-athletes are not involved in their carrier, hence, they need intervention as external support. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effectiveness of STAR career intervention in increasing student-athletes career engagement, enabling appropriate choices. This was a quasi-experiment with a one-group-pretest-posttest design, and the subjects were 9 student-athletes. The results analyzed using the Wilcoxon test showed that STAR career intervention significantly increased understanding of the material (p-value=0.012), career engagement (p-value=0.002), and reaction evaluation (p-value=0.018). The implications of this study can be applied by school guidance counselors.

Abstract

Vocational high school students were provided with a curriculum designed to facilitate their transition into the workforce. Elicitation studies have indicated that vocational high school students experience difficulties in making career decisions. The internship program is designed to enhance students' emotional intelligence and goal commitment, thereby preventing career decision-making difficulties. This research aims to investigate the mediating effect of goal commitment in the relationship between emotional intelligence and career decision-making difficulties. This quantitative correlational research was conducted in a vocational high school in Bogor with a total of 173 participants using a self-report questionnaire of CDDQ, TEIQue-SF, and HWK Scale. Mediation analysis was processed using Hayes PROCESS. Results showed that goal commitment plays a partial mediation role in the relationship between emotional intelligence and career decision-making difficulties (c’ = -0.19, p < 0.001; c = -0.25, p < 0.001). This research will also present the limitations and suggestions for future study.

Abstract

Constructivist career counselling is a form of career counselling that can help students who have difficulty making career decisions due to a lack of information. This research is an intervention program that aims to determine the effectiveness of constructivist career counseling in reducing carestudents' career decision-making difficulties a ququantitativend qualitative research with a single subject ABA design. The research subject was a 21-year-old student, who had difficulty deciding on a career after graduating from college because of the lack of information he had. Measuring the success of counseling was carried out using Career Decision Making Difficulties. The results of the research show that constructivist career counselling can help students overcome career decision making difficulties. Subjects no longer find it difficult to decide on a career and can understand the process of searching for information about careers..
