Abstract

Surimi processing waste liquid that still contains high sarcoplasmic proteins that can still be used, one of which is an cathepsin enzyme. The purpose of the study was to determine the parameters of pH and temperature in recovery of  enzyme cathepsin from surimi wastewater. The results showed that the best recovery of cathepsin enzyme  is obtained at pre-treated  pH 5 and heating at a temperature of 60 °C. In these conditions, cathepsin enzyme has a specific activity 17.90 U / mg and a multiple of 117 times the purity of surimi wash water. Keywords: cathepsin, enzyme recovery, pH, surimi wastewater, temperature

Abstract

The rapid growth of MSMEs in Indonesia provides great opportunities for the national economy. However, to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs, a deeper understanding of the factors that influence their performance is needed. This research specifically focuses on the role of financial literacy, financial inclusion and financial technology in driving MSME profit growth in Depok City. Apart from that, this research also considers gender roles as a differentiating factor. This research uses a quantitative approach by collecting data through questionnaires distributed to 100 MSMEs in Depok City who have utilized financial technology. The data obtained was then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results of the analysis show that financial literacy, financial inclusion and financial technology have a positive and significant influence on MSME profit growth. These findings indicate that increasing financial literacy, expanding access to financial services, and utilizing financial technology are strategic steps to improve the performance of MSMEs. Although gender is not proven to moderate the relationship between independent variables and profit growth, this research provides an important contribution in developing policies to support the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia. The results of this research can be a basis for governments, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to design more effective programs in increasing financial literacy, expanding financial inclusion, and encouraging the adoption of financial technology among MSMEs.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become the main driver of change in the global banking industry, including in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the effect of the number of digital transactions and the ratio of non-performing loans (NPL) on the profitability of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, as measured by Return on Assets (ROA) during the period 2015–2024. The method used is a quantitative approach with a multiple linear regression model, preceded by classical assumption tests including normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroskedasticity. The results of the study indicate that the number of digital transactions does not significantly affect ROA, while NPL has a negative and significant effect on ROA. These findings suggest that the success of banking service digitalization does not automatically improve financial performance if it is not accompanied by effective credit risk management. The implication of this study is the importance of integrating digital strategy and risk management in national banking business planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the boycott on the stock prices of companies that allegedly support Israel in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Through the collection and analysis of stock closing price data during 2023 from five selected companies, namely Unilever Indonesia, PT. Mitra Adiperkasa, PT MAP Boga Adiperkasa, PT Fast Food Indonesia Tbk, and PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk, and using a t-test paired sample, this study evaluates whether there is a difference in stock prices between the previous quarter (quarter 1-3) and the quarter affected by the boycott (quarter 4). The results of the analysis show that although there is an average difference in stock prices between the two periods, the difference is not statistically significant. The high correlation between stock prices in both periods shows that there is consistency in the trend of stock price movements. Thus, the results of this study provide valuable insights into understanding the impact of the boycott on the stock prices of companies that allegedly support Israel
