Abstract

This study evaluates the morphometric characteristics of female Peranakan Ongole (PO) cattle in Napis Village, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, as part of a strategy for developing sustainable village breeding centers. The selection of the research location was conducted through purposive sampling, and the material in this study consists of female Peranakan Ongole cattle with age criteria (PI) based on the SNI for Peranakan Ongole cattle, namely PI0 (aged <1 year), PI2 (1 – 1.5 years), PI4 (1.5 - 2 years), PI6 (2 – 3 years), PI8 (aged > 3.5 years). Measurements include body height, body length, hip height, chest depth, chest circumference, ossa cervical vertebrae, ossa thoracic vertebrae, ossa vertebrae lumbar, ossa scapula, hip width, head length, head width and body weight, as well as morphometric indices such as head index, height slope, body index, index of compression, conformation index, length index, body ratio, proportionality and thoracic development on 206 female cattle grouped by age (PI0-PI8). Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and post hoc tests, as well as key indices to identify growth patterns and body size stability. The research results show a significant increase in body size in the young-to-adult age group, where adult cows reach size stability. The morphometric index reveals consistent proportional development in the body of cattle as they age, reflecting structural maturity. Evaluation based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) shows that most cattle are in Class II and III, indicating excellent body quality in the productive age group. This research emphasizes that morphometric characteristics are important indicators in determining optimal management strategies to support the sustainability of local PO cattle development. These findings provide a foundation for the maintenance and development programs of the PO cattle population by prioritizing quality livestock management, supporting the conservation of local genetic resources, and enhancing cattle productivity in Indonesia.

Abstract

Anemia among adolescent girls (Rematri) in Indonesia remains a significant health issue, with a prevalence of 48.9% according to Riskesdas 2018. This issue is particularly prominent in the age groups of 15-24 years and 25-34 years. Anemia can be managed through the consumption of iron supplementation tablets (TTD) or Fe tablets, but the coverage of Fe tablet distribution in Central Java remains low at 29.3%, much lower than in Bali, which reaches 95.1%. Knowledge about Fe tablets is crucial for adolescents to understand their role in preventing anemia and improving hemoglobin levels. This study aims to determine the relationship between information sources and the knowledge of adolescent girls about Fe tablets in Sewan Village, Kedungampel, Klaten. The research method used is quantitative with a cross-sectional design, involving 49 adolescent girls aged 13-19 years who have reached menarche. A questionnaire was used as the instrument, and data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed an Asymp. Sig value of 0.025, indicating no significant relationship between information sources and knowledge about Fe tablets among adolescent girls in Sewan Village, Klaten.

Abstract

The research conducted at the Singosari Artificial Insemination Center aims to analyze internal and external environmental factors affecting frozen semen marketing and formulate effective marketing strategies. Using a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. Internal factors were evaluated using the Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) matrix, external factors were assessed through the External Factor Evaluation (EFE) matrix, and the Internal-External (IE) matrix was utilized to determine the company's position, providing a more comprehensive overview of the analysis. Results show that strengths (score: 1.77) and opportunities (score: 1.69) outweigh weaknesses (score: 1.52) and threats (score: 1.4). BBIB Singosari's key strengths include ISO- and SNI-certified frozen semen, genetic diversity, and competitive pricing. Meanwhile, threats such as reproductive diseases and market competition must be addressed. The marketing strategy, based on the SWOT matrix, emphasizes consistent product quality improvement, utilization of market intelligence, and fostering consumer relationships. A significant component of this strategy is social marketing, which raises awareness about artificial insemination and the benefits of high-quality frozen semen. Social marketing involves targeted education through social media, direct farmer outreach, and community campaigns, ensuring higher adoption rates of artificial insemination technology. These strategies strengthen BBIB Singosari's market position while contributing to sustainable livestock population growth in Indonesia. The investigation emphasizes the necessity of innovative marketing approaches to overcome internal and external challenges and enhance BBIB's role as a leader in livestock development.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the understanding of grade II students of SD Negeri 1 Singkohor on the main message in Surah An-Nas through the application of the storytelling method. The problems faced are low student understanding due to conventional learning methods and lack of interest in learning. The research method used is classroom action research with two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects involved 35 grade II students of SD Negeri 1 Singkohor. Data was collected through written tests and observation of student learning activities. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of the material after the application of the storytelling method, with the percentage of completeness of learning outcomes increasing from 51.43% in pre-research to 77.14% in cycle I and 91.43% in cycle II. In addition, student learning activities also showed an increase from fair to good and excellent. The conclusion of this study is that the storytelling method is effective in increasing students' understanding and activeness in learning the main message material of Surah An-Nas in grade II elementary school.

Abstract

Microgreens of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) are small and nutritious vegetables consumed at the early stages of growth. The growing process dictates the microgreen quality, such as planting media and watering frequency. This study aims to determine the interaction of various planting media with the watering on the microgreen growth parameters. This study conducts an experiment using 9 total treatments replicated 3 times. The research followed a randomized group design (RGD) and utilized analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a significance level of 5%, as well as Duncan's further test at a 5% significance level. The research parameters include plant height, hypocotyl length, epicotyl length, number of leaves, wet weight, consumable weight, and dry weight. The results showed that the interaction of planting media and watering frequency had a significant effect (P<0,01) on the growth parameters of sunflower microgreens. The best treatment combination is M1P3, Rockwool with watering three times a day with a plant height of 7,67 cm, hypocotyl length of 7,09 cm, epicotyl length 0.36 cm, number of leaves 2,53, wet weight 6,67 g, consumable weight 20.67 g and dry weight 1,22 g. Rockwool is sterile and has a structure that absorbs and stores water sufficiently for the growth of microgreens. The results of this study contribute significantly to improving the growth of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) microgreens through a combination of proper growing media and watering frequency.
