Abstract

Aktivitas antiinflamasi ekstrak matanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) dalam menghambat denaturasi protein telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antiinflamasi dari ekstrak metanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) dengan metode penghambatan denaturasi protein. Protein yang digunakan adalah bovine serum albumin (BSA) 0,2% (w/v) dalam tris buffer saline (TBS). Kontrol positif yang digunakan adalah natrium diklofenak. Hasil uji fitokimia ekstrak metanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) mengandung senyawa golongan alkaloid, steroid, fenolik dan flavonoid. Hasil uji aktivitas antiinflamasi ekstrak metanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) diperoleh nilai inhibition concentration 50% (IC50) sebesar 127,95 µg/mL. Ekstrak metanol daun pare hutan (Momordica balsamina Linn.) memiliki aktivitas sebagai antiinflamasi sedang. Kata Kunci: Momordica balsamina Linn., Antiinflamasi, Bovine Serum Albumin, Inhibition Concentration 50%.

Abstract

Sintesis nanopartikel perak menggunakan reduktor asam askorbat telah dilakukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk untuk mengetahui proses sintesis nanopartikel perak dan mengetahui kestabilan nanopartikel perak berdasarkan variasi konsentrasi AgNO3 dengan menggunakan reduktor asam askorbat. Pada sintesis ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan variasi konsentrasi AgNO3 dan variasi reduktor asam askorbat. Karakterisasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil Spektrofotometer UV-Vis menunjukan konsentrasi AgNO3 4×10-4 M dengan asam askorbat 1×10-3 M lebih stabil dibandingkan dengan konsentrasi AgNO3 yang lain. Kata kunci: Nanopartikel perak, asam askorbat dan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the antibacterial activity of crude ethanol extract, ethyl acetate fraction, methanol:water fraction and n-hexane fraction of white pacing flower (Costus speciosus (J. Koenig) Sm.). Sample preparation was carried out using the extraction method, namely maceration with 96% ethanol and obtained a crude extract of ethanol and continued by partition by liquid-liquid extraction method and obtained the n-hexane, the ethyl acetate, and the methanol:water fractions. The antibacterial activity test was carried out on the four samples using the well diffusion method with modification against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. The antibacterial activity test showed activity in the crude extract of ethanol with an inhibition zone diameter of 7.7 mm. Keyword: white pacing, antibacterial, Escherichia coli

Abstract

Antibacterial activity from methanol extracts of edible rhizomes namely temu putih (Curcuma zedoaria), temu ireng (Curcuma aeruginosis), temu giring (Curcuma heyneana) and temu kunci (Boesenbergia pandurata) against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 based on diameter of inhibition zone by using agar difusion method was conducted. With 1% of each extracts, methanol extract of temu kunci showed excellence acntibacterial acitivty against E. coli with the diameter of inhibition zone of 20,0 mm and followed by methanol extract temu giring is 19,0 mm. While methanol extract of temu ireng and temu putih revealed strong antibacterial activity with inhibition zones of 10.7 and 10,0 mm, respectively. Abstract

Inflammation is the basic process by which tissues respond or react to infection, irritation, or other injuries. One of the plants that have the potential as an anti-inflammatory is pacing putih (Costus speciosus (J. Koenig) Sm.). This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory activity of ethanol extract. The method used was the inhibition of protein denaturation with bovine serum albumin and diclofenac sodium as positive controls. The ethanol extract contains phenolics, flavonoids, and saponins. Anti-inflammatory activity (IC50) of 30.9031 mg/L. The ethanol extract of pacing putih flower has the potential to have anti-inflammatory activity. Keywords: Costus speciosus (J.
