Abstract

Vital archives are vital records and also records the class that requires special treatment both in terms of security and protection, because the information it has is closely related to the existence and survival of the organization. Therefore, there is no reason whats over for the organization to ignore the existence of these vital records. Vital records protection is a preventive action performed before the occurrence of an event that affects the damaged and destruction of records. This is what lies behind the author to reveal about the protection of vital records at the National Library and Regional Archives in Yogyakarta. As this study aims to determine the general protection of vital records at the National Library and Regional Archives in Yogyakarta. Based on the results of this study concluded that, protection of archives vital conducted by the National Library and Regional Archives in Yogyakarta, which prefer the physical archive vital itself to remain intact saved and survived the disaster, and archive vital is stored on each work unit always use it.Arsip vital merupakan arsip dinamis dan juga arsip kelas satu yang memerlukan perlakuan khusus baik dalam hal pengamanan maupun perlindungan, karena informasi yang dimilikinya sangat terkait dengan keberadaan dan kelangsungan organisasi. Oleh karenanya, tidak ada alasan apapun bagi organisasi untuk mengabaikan keberadaan arsip vital ini. Proteksi arsip vital merupakan tindakan preventif yang dilakukan sebelum terjadinya suatu peristiwa yang berdampak kepada rusak dan musnahnya arsip. Inilah yang melatarbelakangi penulis untuk mengungkap tentang proteksi arsip vital pada Badan Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah di Yogyakarta. Adapun penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan untuk mengetahui proteksi arsip vital pada Badan Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah di Yogyakarta. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa, proteksi arsip vital yang dilakukan oleh Badan Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah di Yogyakarta, yaitu lebih mengutamakan fisik dari arsip vital itu sendiri supaya tetap utuh tersimpan dan selamat dari berbagai bencana, dan arsip vital tersebut disimpan pada setiap unit kerja yang selalu memanfaatkannya.

Abstract

Librarians in their profession in the library must have adequate knowledge in all fields. As we know that the task of librarians, reference librarians especially severe because it requires special skills because the information presented comes from a special collection. Therefore, a reference librarian should have the skills, one of which effective communication associated with their professionalism in carrying out its duties are to serve, assist, guide, and became a consultant for user information as well as the high demands of science should be mastered. This is what lies behind the author's research on effective communication skills in serving the reference librarian at the Library of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This study aims to determine the general effective communication skills, how to build effective communication and the factors that hinder effective communication skills in serving the reference librarian at the library of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative research approaches. The research results indicate that communication reference librarian in serving users are already skilled and effective. As for how to build effective communication is done by reference librarian in serving users is how to understand and fulfill the aspects of effective communication as a full relief, tolerance, respect / respect, empathy, caring, polite, caring, can be heard, clearly, trust, caring and humble attitude. The factors that hinder effective communication skills in serving the reference librarian at the library UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta that psychological factors, systematic, and ecological.
