Abstract

Linguistic landscapes have an important role in the public sphere as the use of language such as informative and educational. Various languages can be displayed in the linguistic landscape in tourist destinations such as Cakraningrat Museum in Bangkalan, Madura, which presents a linguistic landscape (LL) in Indonesian and English. However, some linguistic landscapes have not provided complete information about the relics. In addition, the increase in tourists, both local and foreign tourists, meanwhile the language presented in the linguistic landscape is still limited. Based on these problems, through this civil engagement program, LL labeling is carried out to add information about relics and improve the condition of the existing linguistic landscape as a renewal program in the new normal era. The implementation method of service consists of several stages, such as planning, preparation, LL execution and translation, labeling, and preservation. The output of this civic engagement activity is that all relics are equipped with multilingual LL (Indonesian, English, and Madurese).

Keraton Sumenep Museum is a place to collect, treat, present and preserve the historical objects of the Sumenep Palace and one of the tourism destination in Sumenep.  It employed a qualitative method to describe and explain the languages displayed, the sign meterials, and the sign categories in the museum following the taxonomy signs by Spolsky and Cooper. The applied method has assisted the researchers to reach the objectives of this study by getting 124 pictures of landscape linguistic signs. The result of this research shows that linguistic landscape in the museum buildings consist of monolingual and bilingual in Indonesian and English language. The Indonesian language is being chosen because most of the visitors are from locals who can communicate in Indonesian. Abstract

Literary Tourism is closely related to the contribution of literature to the development of tourism. The efforts to brand a place by maintaining the existence of culture and nature have been quite a challenge due to cultural and natural changes of globalization which is increasingly eroding the traditional culture of a place. However, Madura with its traditions, cultures, and beautiful nature make Madura different and unique from other regions. This study displays branding on Madura tourism thus the readers get to know Madura in literary works and become travel and tourism references to visit. This research focuses on how tourism branding exists in Madura poetry by D. Zawawi Imron. Therefore, this study uses a qualitative descriptive method to determine the setting of place and culture in the poetry by D. Zawawi Imron as a Madurese writer and its potential for developing Madura tourism. The results of this study figure out that the inspiration for D. Zawawi Imron's poetry was Madura as his birthplace. In his poems also found the potential for cultural and natural tourism such as Kerapan Sapi and Saronen, as well as village circumstances, Kalianget, Sumenep, and some vocabulary that reflects Madurese characteristics such as Nira and siwalan. Hopefully, Literary Tourism will make a new contribution to multidisciplinary dynamics in applied literary studies.
