Abstract

The poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost illustrates how fleeting life is. Its rhyme arrangement (aa bb cc) demonstrates the poem’s brilliance. Based on the usage of figures of speech, this analysis illuminates the poem’s meaning. From the analysis, it is found out that: First, Frost succeeds in using figures of speech proportionally. Second, Frost underscores that nothing in our lives—nothing ideal, lovely, youthful, or pure—can ever endure.

Abstract

This study aims to determine effective methods for early childhood English learning. The sample of the research is consisted of 35 kindergarten children aged 4-5-6, who do not speak English and have no linguistic or speaking problems. The sample of the research consisted of six girls and seven boys aged 4, five girls and six boys aged 5, and seven girls and four boys aged 6. None of the children in the sample of research has had English education before. English language education in early childhood is of great importance since it makes children realize different languages and grow up with a positive attitude for English. Because of this reason, the most effective educational environment must be prepared for obtaining the most effective performance in English language education. The instructor needs to have adequate knowledge and background for the English language education and formation on early childhood. One of the most important facts about children’s learning a second language is the usage of that second language actively in the children’s environment. Such as the one in this study, many schools give English language education. Nevertheless, children can forget what they have learned since they are not using the second language actively in the daily life.

Abstract

Literary Tourism is closely related to the contribution of literature to the development of tourism. The efforts to brand a place by maintaining the existence of culture and nature have been quite a challenge due to cultural and natural changes of globalization which is increasingly eroding the traditional culture of a place. However, Madura with its traditions, cultures, and beautiful nature make Madura different and unique from other regions. This study displays branding on Madura tourism thus the readers get to know Madura in literary works and become travel and tourism references to visit. This research focuses on how tourism branding exists in Madura poetry by D. Zawawi Imron. Therefore, this study uses a qualitative descriptive method to determine the setting of place and culture in the poetry by D. Zawawi Imron as a Madurese writer and its potential for developing Madura tourism. The results of this study figure out that the inspiration for D. Zawawi Imron's poetry was Madura as his birthplace. In his poems also found the potential for cultural and natural tourism such as Kerapan Sapi and Saronen, as well as village circumstances, Kalianget, Sumenep, and some vocabulary that reflects Madurese characteristics such as Nira and siwalan. Hopefully, Literary Tourism will make a new contribution to multidisciplinary dynamics in applied literary studies.

Abstract

Tourist attraction management has several problems that must be considered. The lack of information about halal tourism in Bangkalan for tourists outside the region causes tourists to only visit famous destinations. Tourism management has not paid attention to the development of art and culture typical of the region. In addition, the managers do not yet have a suitable model as a foundation for developing art and culture to increase visitors to Bangkalan halal tourism. This is the main problem in this study. The main objective of this study is to find the best formula related to the art and culture development model to increase visitors to Bangkalan halal tourism initiated by researchers by getting input from stakeholders, namely tourism managers, art / cultural actors, surrounding communities, and tourism visitors, and district governments throughout Madura. The model to be used is the Structural Equation Model. Data in this study were collected through observation (questionnaire), interviews, and documentation. Latent variables considered in this model include Accessibility, Attraction, Amenity, Ancillary, and Tourist Visits. This strategy is handed over to the management of Bangkalan halal tour-ism to be implemented to Increase Visitors.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of storytelling on English language development among young children in early childhood education. The subjects of the research include 60 children aged 4-6 years from three different preschools. Data collection methods encompass pre- and post-tests, observation checklists, interviews, and focus groups. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired t-tests and ANOVA, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. The findings reveal significant improvements in vocabulary acquisition, comprehension, and narrative skills, with both traditional and digital storytelling methods proving effective. The novelty of this research lies in its mixed-methods approach and the comparative analysis of traditional and digital storytelling, providing comprehensive insights into their respective impacts on language development.

Abstract

Elementary school students' literacy and numeracy skills are an important foundation in developing cognitive competence and future academic success. However, grade 4 and 5 students at Balongbendo Elementary School face challenges in improving these skills due to limited innovative learning media. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using Calistung media in improving students' literacy and numeracy at the school. This study used a qualitative-descriptive method. The results showed that the use of Calistung media increased students' literacy skills by 25% and numeracy skills by 30%. This media has been proven effective in increasing students' learning motivation through an interactive and fun approach. This study provides new contributions to the development of media-based learning methods, especially in the use of Calistung media to support literacy and numeracy in elementary education. The implementation of this media not only improves student learning outcomes but also provides practical insights for teachers in designing more effective learning. It is hoped that these findings can be a reference for policy makers and education practitioners in improving the quality of learning in elementary schools. Kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa sekolah dasar merupakan fondasi penting dalam pengembangan kompetensi kognitif dan keberhasilan akademik di masa depan. Namun, siswa kelas 4 dan 5 di SD Negeri Balongbendo menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan ini akibat keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas penggunaan media Calistung dalam meningkatkan literasi dan numerasi siswa di sekolah tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media Calistung meningkatkan keterampilan literasi siswa sebesar 25% dan keterampilan numerasi sebesar 30%. Media ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa melalui pendekatan yang interaktif dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi baru dalam pengembangan metode pembelajaran berbasis media, khususnya pada penggunaan media Calistung untuk mendukung literasi dan numerasi di pendidikan dasar. Implementasi media ini tidak hanya meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa tetapi juga memberikan wawasan praktis bagi guru dalam mendesain pembelajaran yang lebih efektif. Diharapkan temuan ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi pengambil kebijakan dan praktisi pendidikan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.
