Abstract

This research is proposed to find out the response of growth and yield of paddy rice situ bagendit variety by tillage of land ground and frequency of weeding. It was conducted at Dinas Pertanian UPT BBI, Tanjung Selamat with a height of 57 m above sea level on March until June 2012 with the soil which has ever tillage before, by using a Randomized Block Design of two factors, they are tillage of land ground (no tillage, two tillage and three tillage) and frequency of weeding (weeding 7 day, 14 day, 21 day and weeding full). The parameters observed were plant’s height, numbers of tiller, numbers of panicle, percentage shell of empty rice, number shell of rice containt, production shell of rice contain, 1000 grain weight, production shell of plot weight dry root and weight dry paddy stem. The results showed that tillage of land ground and frequency of weeding showed significant effects on plant’s height of 6 MST, numbers of tiller of 4 MST, numbers of tiller of 8 MST, percentage shell of empty rice, weight dry root and weight dry paddy stem.   Key words : paddy rice, soil tillage , weeding

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the most suitable planting distace and dose of phospate fertilizer forthe growth and yield of yam. The reasearch was conducted at Jln. Setia Budi, Simpang Selayang,Medan Tuntungan at ± 25 meters above sea level from April until August 2012. The research usedthe factorial completely randomized block design with two factors, namely phospate fertilizer (0g,5,3g, 10,67g, and 16 g/plot) and planting distance (20x15 cm, 20x20 cm, and 20x25 cm).Parameters observed were plant length, number of branches, tuber weight per sample, tuber weightper plot, tuber diameter , root volume and   and harvest index. The results showed that phospatefertilizer treatment did not show any significant effects for all parameters. Longer planting distancesignificantlly increased plant lengths only at 3 and 4 WAP, but not at other ages, and for all otherparameters as well. Similirlly, there was no significant interaction effect of the two treatments for all parameters.Key words : phospate fertilizer, planting distance, yam

Abstract

Peanut is one of the source of protein for human foods. Production of peanutscan be increase by land cultivation and giving vermicompost. This research aimed toevaluate the effect of land cultivation and giving vermicompost for growth andproduction of peanuts. The study was conducted in Tanjung Sari, Kecamatan MedanSelayang. This research used split plot design, with two factors. First factor is landcultivation with 4 levels (traditional tillage with two stage of cultivation, traditionaltillage with one stage of cultivation, minimum tillage, and no-tillage).The secondfactor is the ratio of vermicompost and chemical fertilizers, whith 5 levels(chemical 100%,vermicompost 100%, vermicompost 75% + chemical fertilizer25%, vermicompost 50% + chemical fertilizer 50%, and vermicompost 25% +chemical fertilizer 75%. The result showed that land cultivation significantlyaffected the parameters the number of ginofor 2 and 3 month after planting(MAP), the number of filled pod, 100 seed weigth, production per sample andproduction per plot. The ratio of vermicompost and chemical fertilizerssignificantly affected the parameters of the number of branch 1 and 2 MAP. Theinteraction between land cultivation and the ratio of vermicompost and chemicalfertilizers did not significantly affected for all parameters.Keywords : land cultivation, vermicompost, peanuts.
