Abstract

Background: Iron deficiency is the most common cause of anemia during pregnancy. Red dragon fruit is assumed having much iron to increase hemoglobin and erythrocyte level. Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of dragon fruit juice on levels of hemoglobin and erythrocytes. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent control group design. There were 34 respondents recruited in this study using consecutive sampling. The samples were divided into intervention group (17 respondents) and control group (17 respondents). Data were analyzed using independent t-test and paired t-test. Results: There was a statistically significant effect of red dragon fruit juice Hb level on the 7th day of intervention with p-value 0.037 (<0.05), but there was no significant effect on hemoglobin level in the 14th day of intervention with p-value 0.140 (>0.05). This study also revealed that there was a statistically significant effect of red dragon fruit juice on pregnant women's erythrocyte level on the 7th day with p-value 0.025 (<0.05), but there was no significant effect on the erythrocyte level in the 14th day of intervention with p-value 0.094 (> 0.05). Conclusion: There was a statistically significant effect of red dragon fruit juice on hemoglobin and erythrocyte levels. This study provides the insight of knowledge that the red dragon fruit juice can be an alternative treatment to deal with anemia among pregnant women.

Abstract

Psychological problems underlying the fear and anxiety will be embedded in the mother's subconscious mind, becoming negative thoughts. The psychological burden can lead to problems with labor complications, which interfere with the normal process of pregnancy and childbirth. The psychological condition of the mother who is less supportive can cause stress which can cause tense muscles, stiffness, labor pain and hard, inelastic birth canal. Negative thoughts accompanied by pain, will improve the work of the sympathetic nervous system. The hypothalamus sends a signal to the pituitary gland, to reduce the hormone cortisol, which is a stress hormone, so that the autonomic nervous system activates the adrenal glands causing physical tension in pregnant women which causes more pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hypnotherayi on reducing anxiety of pregnant and maternal mothers. This research article reviewed from electronic databases including Science Direct, Google Scholar and other related websites. The number of keywords used included 7 "Hypnotherapy" and "anxiety" From 1484 Publications ranging from 2008 to 2018, the use of the hypnotherapy method to reduce anxiety in pregnant women was presented in English, included in this review. Pregnant women who take hypnotherapy can reduce anxiety, gain peace of mind and instill positive thoughts on the subconscious mind because during the hypnotherapy process the mother experiences deep physical relaxation, focused attention, increased sensory ability, and relaxed control.

Abstract

In the Jiken Health Center area, Jiken Village is the village with the lowest Posyandu visit coverage in 2019 (41.4%). The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the activity of mothers under five to the Posyandu in Jiken Village. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional research design. The study population was mothers with children aged 12-59 months (387 mothers). Sampling using simple random sampling as many as 88 mothers. Data retrieval using Google Forms and interviews via telephone. To verify data on visits to children under five and immunizations, the researchers looked at the Posyandu register book and the village midwife cohort. With the Chi square test, the results showed that there was a relationship between the mother's level of education (ρ value 0.001), toddler age (ρ value 0.000) and the activeness of the mother under five at the Posyandu. There was no relationship between the level of knowledge (value 0.678), occupation (value 0.183) , immunization status (p value 0.162) with the activeness of mothers under five to the posyandu. From the results of the study, it was found that the activity of mothers under five to the posyandu was 47.7%, so mothers should always bring their toddlers to the posyandu. Posyandu should be integrated with PAUD and TK. It is hoped that this research can be a reference for further research materials. Keywords : Toddler Posyandu; education; knowledge; occupation; immunization status
