Abstract

English is one of the subjects that students in Indonesia are required to study, including during the COVID-19 pandemic situation. As a result of the the pandemic, the English learning process is conducted online. Therefore, students are expected to adapt to this new learning mode, and to be interested in it as well. This research aims to find out the level of the students’ interest in learning English online. The research utilizes descriptive quantitative method. A questionnaire is used as the research instrument. Taking SMPN 2 Girimulyo junior high school, Yogyakarta, Indonesia as the research setting, it involves 40 students which consist of 25 female students and 15 male students. The research data are collected online through Google form distributed to the respondents to reveal their interest in learning English online. The study findings show that 77% of students are interested in learning English online, 66% of the students master the material, and the interaction between students and teacher is very good reaching perfect score of 100%. However, when asked about their preference, 60% of the students prefer learning English offline under face-to-face mode.

Abstract

Google Meet is a new medium used for students and teachers in learning during COVID-19 pandemic. At Muhammadiyah Nitikan Elementary School, English learning has been carried out online by utilizing online mediums in the learning process. By using Google Meet as an alternative learning medium, students at Muhammadiyah Nitikan Elementary School have various opinions on its use. The objective of this research was to find out students’ perceptions of using Google Meet in English online learning. The research method in this research was quantitative method. The participants of this research were sixth grade students of Muhammadiyah Nitikan Elementary School consisting of 88 students, 46 female students and 42 male students. The sampling used in this research was random sampling. Questionnaire is used to collect the data which is then analyzed using quantitative methods. The results of this study showed that out of a total of 88 participants, 1 student (1.14%) has a very positive perception, 35 students (39.77%) have a positive perception, 27 students (30.68%) have a neutral perception, 17 students (19.32%) have a negative perception, and 8 students (9.09%) have a very negative perception.

Abstract

Kegiatan Market Day di SDN Pertapanmaduretno bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha dikalangan siswa. Siswa terlibat dalam kegiatan ini seperti dalam proses pembuatan barang, promosi, serta penjualan produk yg telah mereka buat. Untuk menggambarkan fenomena yang diteliti, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Target penelitian adalah siswa kelas 4 dan 5 SDN Pertapanmaduretno. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat ditunjukkan bahwa kegiatan Market Day dapat menumbuhkan jiwa wirausaha siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan tersebut. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan minat siswa dalam berwirausaha, peningkatan karakter peserta didik misalnya berani menghadapi tantangan usaha, percaya diri, bertanggung jawab, serta peningkatan pada sistem pengelolaan keuangan siswa. Beberapa hal tersebut mungkin terjadi dikarenakan kegiatan Market Day yang melibatkan keseluruhan siswa untuk berpatisipasi didalamnya, sehingga terjadi interaksi yang mampu melatih mental mereka. Diharapkan bahwa implementasi nilai-nilai entrepreneur melalui kegiatan Market Day dapat membentuk siswa menjadi bibit unggul pengusaha dimasa yang akan datang sehingga mampu membuka lapangan pekerjaan.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2021, around 14% of the 12 billion adolescents in the world aged 10-19 experience anxiety before puberty. The most important event that occurs during puberty for adolescent girls is menarche. Problems facing menarche include anxiety caused by negative perceptions of menstruation that lead to feelings of fear, anxiety, and worry. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of video-based health promotion on knowledge and readiness to face menarche among female students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Nurul Ihsan Bumi Nabung Timur, Central Lampung Regency in 2024. This research is a quantitative analytic study with a pre-experimental approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was all female students in grades 5-6 who had not experienced menarche, with a population and sample size of 17 female students using a total sampling technique. Data collection was done using a questionnaire. Univariate data analysis used mean calculations, while bivariate analysis used chi-square. The results showed that the average pretest knowledge was 4.59, and the pretest readiness to face menarche was 18.47. The average posttest knowledge was 9.94, and the posttest readiness was 25.24. There was an effect of video-based health promotion on knowledge about menarche (p-value: 0.000). There was an effect of video-based health promotion on readiness to face menarche (p-value: 0.000). It is recommended that the school can develop a sustainable health promotion program in collaboration with related parties such as the community health center (puskesmas) and other health workers.
