Abstract

About 46% from 136 dysfunctions of surveyed dams has related to internal erosion. Internal erosion is a phenomenon that is not fully understood, although it’s makes dysfunctions in dam’s structure. Two main phenomena responsible for erosion of particles in soil are backward erosion and suffusion. This report deals with suffusion process, which takes place inside the soil matrix. In suffusion, finer particles of a soil migrate within its own pore spaces be-tween the larger particles. These fine particles can be cohesionless particles or clay particles. With the objective to study the effect of angularity of coarse fraction grains on suffusion, a series of tests was performed on different clayey sand. Five sand types samples were tested which are different angularity of grains and same grain size distribution. Two experimental devices were used: one to characterize the grain shape and the second to quantify the influence of the grain shape on suffusion. Mechanical method was used to characterize the grain shape. By using a triaxial erodimeter, the suffusion sensitivity of five mixtures of kaolin-aggregates was determined. Results clearly demonstrate that suffusion process depends on the grain angularity of coarse fraction. With a constant flow, angularity of coarse fraction grains contributes to increase the suffusion resistance. Keywords: internal erosion, suffusion, triaxial erodimeter, angularity

Abstract

ABSTRACTLocal traditional mining in the Bodri River Kendal regency increasingly concerned, this is of course if left unchecked will damage the river body, river channel, causing landslides, can even disrupt the stability of water buildings such as weirs and bridges. The purpose of this research is as an effort to Determine Non-Metal and Rock Mineral Mining Zonation Based on the Inflow and Outflow of Sediment in Bodri River of Kendal Regency, to obtain the areas which are allowed to be mined and the mining volume. This research is descriptive qualitative by doing direct observation, interview and documentation. Descriptive method is a method used to examine the status of human groups, an object, a condition and a system of thought and events that will occur. The purpose of this study is to create an explorative, systematics, factual and accurate facts on the specific case. The research results are sediment inflow to  the Bodri river is 103.327,40 ton/year, whereas the outflow is 379.459.46 ton/year, which mean the river morphology has serious problem caused by the mining activity. Keywords: Zoning, Mining, Non-Metal Material and Rocks, Sediment

Abstract

AbstractCirebon Regency experienced very rapid development every year. Based on the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Cirebon Regency has a population of 2.270.621 million people. Plered road (Cirebon) – Bandung is directly bordered by Indramayu Regency in the north, in the south by Kuningan Regency, and in the west by Majalengka Regency and is passed by the National road network. Cirebon is currently experiencing traffic density problems on several roads due to the large population and the increase in motorized vehicles every year. In this Final Assignment Study, research, analysis and discussion were carried out on the Plered (Cirebon) – Bandung road section which resulted in a degree of saturation (DS) of 0,81 for the east to west direction and 0,8 for the west to east direction. With Service Level (Level Of Service/ LOS) category “D” with a range of degrees of saturation Q/C, which is between 0,75 – 0,84, which means the road has an unstable current, the speed is low and varies, volume close to capacity. The Plered (Cirebon) – Bandung road section will experience a decrease in performance if no efforts are made to maintain performance on this road section. Keywords : Plered road (Cirebon) – Bandung; Performance of Segment Road; Degree of Saturation; Level of Service. AbstrakKabupaten Cirebon mengalami perkembangan yang sangat pesat setiap tahunnya. Berdasarkan Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Kabupaten Cirebon tercatat mempunyai jumlah penduduk 2.270.621 juta jiwa.
