Abstract

This study is experimental research that aims to know and examine in depth about the influence of AQ of pre-service mathematics teacher toward the achievement of mathematical creative reasoning ability. The population of this study is the pre-service mathematics teacher in Cimahi City, West Java, Indonesia; while the sample is 60 pre-service mathematics teachers selected purposively. The instruments of this study are tests and non-tests. They are based on the assessment of good characteristics towards students' mathematical creative reasoning abilities, while the non-test instrument is based on the assessment of good characteristics towards AQ. The results of this research show that: (1) AQ gives positive influence to the development of mathematical creative reasoning ability of pre-service mathematics teacher with the influence of 60.9%, while the rest of it (39.1%) is influenced by other factors outside AQ; (2) The mathematical creative reasoning ability of the prospective teacher students is more develop in AQ Climber type, whereas students who have Camper and Quitter AQ types still tend to have thinking patterns in solving problems with imitative reasoning; (3) Students belonging to the Quitter AQ type still tend to have errors related to the idea of solving problems and mathematical expressions.

Abstract

This research includes descriptive qualitative research that aims to analyze or know the problem solving ability of mathematics of female and male students on matter contextual circle material in junior high school. From the results of this study obtained that the problem solving ability of mathematics subject of woman better than subject of man. This is reflected in the results of the average scores on average of each indicator indicating that the subject of women has a higher average than the male subject. It is influenced by the management of women subject time is better than the subject of men, where in completing the subject of women tend to go through the first step solving or problems that are considered difficult to further do the other first. However, for other things there is no significant difference between the subject of women and men in solving the problem of mathematical problems in the form of contextual matter of circle material proposed. Abstrak Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis atau mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa perempuan dan laki-laki pada soal kontekstual materi lingkaran di jenjang SMP. Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik subjek perempuan lebih baik dibandingkan subjek laki-laki. Hal ini tercermin dari hasil perolehan rata-rata skor benar setiap indikator yang menunjukkan bahwa subjek perempuan memiliki rata-rata lebih tinggi dibanding subjek laki-laki. Hal tersebut dipengaruhi oleh manajemen waktu subjek perempuan yang lebih baik dibandingkan subjek laki-laki, dimana dalam melakukan penyelesaian subjek perempuan cenderung melewati terlebih dahulu langkah penyelesaian atau soal yang dianggap sulit untuk selanjutnya mengerjakan terlebih dahulu soal lainnya. Akan tetapi, untuk hal lainnya tidak terdapat perbedaan yang mendasar antara subjek perempuan dan laki-laki dalam menyelesaikan soal pemecahan masalah matematik berbentuk soal kontekstual materi lingkaran yang diajukan.
