Abstract

Based on the information from the students of SMP Negeri 2 Pleret Bantul District, students are less conducive to the learning environment, as well as learning styles about students’ learning motivation is low. This study aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship between students’ learning environment, learning style and learning motivation the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Pleret Bantul District in the odd semester in the academic year of 2016/2017. The population of the research is all student's regular classes VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Pleret Bantul District of the odd semester in the academic year of 2016/2017 as many as 7 classes. Taken as a class VIII G class research sample by random sampling technique to class. Data collection techniques such as questionnaires and test engineering. Questionnaire research instrument for the variables of students’ learning environment, variable learning style, and variable learning motivation while research instrument outcome variables studied mathematics. Test using a research instrument validity, different power, and reliability testing. Analysis prerequisite test including normality test, independent test and linearity test. Data analysis for hypothesis testing using product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between (1) the learning environment of students with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.4317; (2) learning style with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.5145; (3) learning motivation with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.4012; (4) the learning environment of students and learning style with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.5728; (5) students' learning environment and learning motivation with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.4632; (6) learning style and learning motivation with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.5725; (7) the learning environment of students, learning style and learning motivation with mathematics learning outcomes, with R = 0.5874 and the linear regression equation  = -60,3895 + 0,2665  + 0,8747  + 0,5304 . Large donations are relatively  = 21,7776%,  = 58,7420%  and  = 19,4804% and the effective contribution  = 7,5134%, = 20,2664% and = 6,7209%. This shows that the way of learning style (x2) have a greater relationship to mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The reason for the research that the learning process uses in SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta tends centered to the teacher, students becoming passive and less involved in the learning process, so that needed model of learning that involved students becoming active. Model of learning that can provide opportunities for students to actively is a cooperative learning model of snowball throwing and cooperative learning model of group investigation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model of snowball throwing type and cooperative learning model of group investigation type toward mathematics learning outcomes in second grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta in odd semester academic year of 2016/2017. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta in the first semester of the academic year 2016/2017 is divided seven classes namely class VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D, VIII E, VIII F, VIII G totaling 150 students. Samples were taken 3 classes using random sampling techniques, derived class VIII B as an experimental class I, VIII D class as the experimental class II, and VIII C class as the control class. Data analysis techniques used for prerequisite tests including normality test with chi-square formula, bartlett homogeneity test by test, and test hypotheses include F test and significant raced different (LSD). The result on significant level 5% and db = (2,98) shows (1) there are different results of the mathematics learning uses model of learning snowball throwing, model of group investigation, and model of learning expository. This is shows with value  ,  so that  and (2) the results mathematics learning of the students that use the cooperative learning model of snowball throwing better than learning process uses cooperative learning model of group investigation and model of learning expository. This result shows with hypothesis test LSD which is significant level 5% and 98 degrees of freedom is obtained in case I because    rejected, and  >  it is mean that . Abstract

Teacher-centered learning may lead to low mathematics learning interest. It can also lead to poor mathematical concept understanding. Therefore, there need to be efforts to improve student motivation and mathematical concept understanding. This research aims at improving the learning motivation and concept understanding in mathematics learning by using Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model. The research is an action research, consisting of 2 cycles. The research setting is Grade XI Fashion 2 class at State Vocational High School (SMK Negeri) 6 Yogyakarta during the even semester of the academic year of 2019/2020 with 32 students. The data collection methods used were observation, interview, questionnaire, and test. The research instruments used were an observation sheet, interview guideline, questionnaire, and test. The instrument validity was also tested in this research. The data analysis used was descriptive qualitative analysis. The research results suggest that mathematics learning through the TPS learning model can improve students' motivation and mathematical concept understanding. The finding is supported by the observation, interview, and questionnaire in every meeting. The improvement of mathematical concept understanding can also be seen from the test result in every cycle. The finding is supported by the average percentage of student learning motivation and concept understanding that show an improvement in every cycle. In cycle, I, the average percentage of student learning motivation from the observation result was 61% and was categorized as Good. In cycle 2, it increased to 78% and was categorized as Good. The average percentage of student learning motivation from the questionnaire in cycle I was 78% and was categorized as Good. In cycle 2, it increased to 83% and was categorized as Very Good. The average percentage of student learning motivation from the cycle test I was 69% and was categorized as Moderate. In cycle 2, it increased to 88% and was categorized as Very Good. Cooperative learning type TPS also got good responses from the students. The finding is supported by the interview result with Grade XI Fashion 2 students at the end of the cycle I and II. Thus, cooperative learning type TPS can improve student motivation and concept understanding.

Abstract

The study was conducted on the grounds that learning commonly applied in Jetis Middle School 3 in Bantul Regency tends to be teacher-centered, students become passive and less involved in the learning process, so learning models that involve students are needed. One learning model that can provide opportunities for students to be active in the Cooperative Learning Model Type TAI (Team-Assisted Individualization) and NHT type (Number Head Together). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Cooperative Learning Type TAI (Team-Assisted Individualization) and NHT type (Number Head Together) on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VII students of SMP N 3 Jetis Bantul district, even semester 2015/2016 academic year on the subject of flat building rectangular. The population in this study were all VII graders in the even semester of SMP N 3 Jetis, Bantul Regency in the 2015/2016 academic year which were divided into 7 classes namely VII A, VII B, VII C, VII D, VII E, VII F, and VII G which a total of 212 students. The samples were taken in 3 classes with a purposive sampling technique, obtained class VII B as Experiment Class I, class VII A as Experimental Class II, and Class VII C as Control Class. The data analysis technique used for the prerequisite test includes the normality test with the Chi-Square formula, the homogeneity test with the Bartlett test, and the hypothesis test includes the F Test and the Least Significant Different (LSD) test. The results at a significant level of 5% and df = (2, 94) indicate (1) that at least two classes have differences in mathematics learning outcomes of students who use the Cooperative Learning Model Type TAI, NHT type, and direct learning models. This is indicated by the value  so   and (2) Classes that use the Cooperative learning model Type TAI are more effective than those using the NHT type learning model on learning outcomes and classes that use NHT type learning are more effective than those that use direct learning models on learning outcomes. This is indicated by the results of the LSD hypothesis test where a significant level of 5% and 94 degrees of freedom were obtained in case I   = 7,92 and LSD = 6,35 so then  > LSD then  rejected and = 80,00 and = 72,08 means . In case II = 15,625 and LSD = 6,35 so then  > LSD then  rejected and = 80,00 and =  means . While in the case III = 7,708 and LSD = 6,30 so then  > LSD so  rejected and = 72,08 and =  means . Abstract

The process of learning mathematics in schools that are still lacking in training students' abilities in solving mathematical problems. Practice questions given are still not enough to train students' ability to solve math problems. Research on giving quizzes aims to improve student learning outcomes. This research is included in experimental research, which intends to determine the differences in students' motivation and mathematics learning outcomes who use quiz learning methods with scientific learning methods. This research was conducted at Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah 2 Minggir, Sleman Regency, with research subjects being grade VII students of Even Semester SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Minggir Academic Year 2017/2018. The research instrument in the form of tests of mathematics learning outcomes in multiple-choice questions. Data analysis using analysis prerequisite test consisting of normality test and homogeneity test. Test hypotheses using an average test. Based on the average test on the test results of mathematics learning, the average value of the experimental class's mathematics learning outcomes was 76.190467. The average value of the mathematics learning outcomes of the control class was 66.84818. This shows differences in the mathematics learning outcomes of the seventh-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Minggir Sleman in the even semester of 2017/2018 school year using quiz learning methods with students' mathematics learning outcomes using conventional learning methods. The difference in the average value of learning outcomes of the experimental class and control class is 9,342287, with the average value of the experimental class is higher than the control class. This shows the quiz learning method is more effective in mathematics learning outcomes for students of class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Minggir Kabupaten Sleman even semester 2017/2018 school year.

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes are related to various factors. Allegedly include interest in learning, peer interaction, and parents’ attention are several factors related to learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the presence or absence of a positive and significant relationship between interest in learning, peer interaction, and parents’ attention with mathematics learning outcomes of eighth-grade students of Islamic Junior High School (MTs) Miftahul Ulum Bulakan even semester academic year 2018/2019. MTs Miftahul’ Ulum Bulakan 2018/2019 school year consists of 3 classes. The population in this study is class VIII A, VIII B, and VIII C. The sampling technique uses class random sampling techniques and class VIII B as a sample class. Data collection techniques using the questionnaire method and the question method. Data collection instruments using questionnaires and math items. Analysis prerequisite tests include normality tests, independence tests, and linearity tests. Data analysis for hypothesis testing uses product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed t positive and significant relationship between interest in learning, peer interaction, and parents’ attention to learning outcomes in mathematics. At a significant level of 5%, v1 = 3, v2 = 26, Fcount = 15.10592 and Ftable = 2.97515, so Fcount> Ftable with a multiple correlation coefficient of 0.79714 and a multiple regression equation for three variables namely . The relative contribution of = 62,75 %, = 0,36 %, = 36,89 % and the effective contribution = 39,87 %, = 0,23%, = 23,44%.

Abstract

The results of interviews in SMK Negeri 1 Pleret country found some problems that numerical ability is still lacking, assuming that mathematics is a difficult lesson or complicated. Social, economic parents are still less, such as inadequate facilities, and the result of student learning mathematics is still low. This research aims to determine the presence or absence of positive and significant the relationship between numerical ability, student’s perception of mathematics, and social, economic parents to mathematics learning outcomes in students class X TITL of State Vocational High School 1 Pleret (SMK Negeri 1 Pleret) Bantul in Even Semester in Academic Year of 2017/2018. This research population was the students of X TITL of SMK Negeri 1 Pleret Bantul in 2017/2018, consisting of class X TITL A, X TITL B, X TITL C, totaling 101 students. Class X TITL B was selected as a class of research samples with a random sampling technique. The writer uses the questionnaire method to collect the data of student's perception of mathematics and social, economic parents, and test method to get data of numerical ability and the resulting learning of math. The research instrument: validity test, different power test, and reliability test. Test requirement analysis includes a test of normality, a test of linearity, and independence. The writer uses product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear Regression analysis to analyze the data. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between numerical ability, students' perception of mathematics, and social, economic parents with mathematics learning outcomes in students class X TITL of SMK Negeri 1 Pleret Bantul in Even Semester in Academic Year of 2016/2017. Abstract

Hasil observasi di di salah satu MTs Negeri di Kota Yogyakarta ditemukan beberapa masalah pada siswa, yaitu sebagian siswa merasa tidak percaya diri dalam mengerjakan soal matematika, pergaulan kelompok teman sebaya belum sepenuhnya memberikan pengaruh baik dan kurannya pengaruh baik dari lingkungan belajar di rumah serta hasil belajar matematika siswa yang masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui ada atau tidak adanya hubungan yang positif dan siginifikan antara dukungan teman sebaya, lingkungan belajar di rumah, dan konsep diri dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII di salah satu MTs Negeri di Kota Yogyakarta semester genap tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di salah satu MTs Negeri di Kota Yogyakarta semester genap tahun ajaran 2017/2018 sebanyak 7 kelas yang berjumlah 233 siswa. Sampel diambil dengan teknik random sampling terhadap kelas dan diperoleh kelas VIII E yang berjumlah 37 siswa. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode angket untuk memperoleh data dukungan teman sebaya, lingkungan belajar di rumah dan konsep diri sedangkan metode tes untuk memperoleh data hasil belajar matematika. Analisis data menggunakan analisis korelasi dan analisis regresi linier ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada hubungan positif dan signifikan antara dukungan teman sebaya, lingkungan belajar di rumah, dan konsep diri dengan hasil belajar matematika, diperoleh Fhitung = 5,973 dan Ftabel = 2,891 dengan koefisien korelasi ganda sebesar 0,6052 dan persamaan regresi linear ganda tiga variabel yaitu . Besar sumbangan relatif (X1) = 71,014 %, (X2) = 22,812%, (X3) = 6,174% dan besar sumbangan efektif (X1) = 26,014 %, %, (X2) = 8,357%, (X3) = 2,261%.

Abstract

Students' mathematics learning outcomes who low are associated with several factors. Students learning interest, parental supervision, and students' perception of the learning environment at school are several factors that probably related to learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to know whether existing or not a positive relationship and significant between students learning interest, parental supervision, and students perception to learning environment at school with students mathematics learning outcomes in class X TKR (Teknik Kendaraan Ringan) SMK Negeri 1 Seyegan, Sleman District in odd semester in academic year of 2016/2017. The population in this research was a student of class X TKR SMK Negeri 1 Seyegan, Sleman District in the odd semester in the academic year of 2016/2017 who consisting of class X of TKR 1, X of TKR 2, and X of TKR 3 with total 96 students. Sample taken class X of TKR 3 as a research class sample with random sampling to the class. Technique to collect the data uses the chief to obtain students learning interest, parental supervision, and students' perception of learning environment data at school, and a method of test to obtain data of mathematics learning outcomes. Research instruments test: validity test, different power test, and reliability test. The prerequisite analysis test include normality test, linearity test, and independence test. The data analysis use product moment analysis and multiple linear regression analysis to analyze the data. The research results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between students learning interest, parental supervision, and students perception to learning environment at school with students mathematics learning outcomes in class X TKR (Teknik Kendaraan Ringan) SMK Negeri 1 Seyegan, Sleman District in odd semester in the academic year of 2016/2017. Abstract

Proses pembelajaran matematika di sekolah yang masih berpusat pada guru menjadikan siswa kurang aktif dan mengantuk pada saat pembelajaran karena bosan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang bermaksud untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe index card match (ICM). Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Piyungan Bantul tahun ajaran 2017/2018 yang terdiri dari 3 kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling dan terpilih kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII B sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa dokumentasi, lembar observasi dan tes berupa soal pilihan ganda. Uji instrumen meliputi uji validitas, uji daya pembeda dan uji reliabilitas. Analisis data menggunakan uji prasyarat analisis yang terdiri dari uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t dua pihak dan uji-t satu pihak. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis rata-rata dengan taraf signifikan 5% dan derajat kebebasan = 38, diperoleh dan 2,02534, sehingga 2,02534, sehingga diterima dan ditolak, dengan demikian tidak ada perbedaan hasil belajar matematika antara siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Piyungan Bantul tahun ajaran 2017/2018 yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe ICM dengan siswa yang menggunakan model konvensional.
