Abstract

EnglishDevelopment of bio-fuel energy in Indonesia deals with serious challenges. This study aims to analyze performance and development prospects of bio-fuel energy based on production performance, agribusiness, and financial feasibility of industries using coconut palm, jatropha, cassava and sugarcane as raw materials for producing of bio-fuel. It is found that bio-fuel production is influenced by land area size. All crops are feasible to develop, except jatropha than has lower bio-fuel content below the standard. Financial feasibility study shows that biodiesel and bio-ethanol industries reasonable to develop. The policy suggested is land conversion control, expanding planting areas by utilizing marginal land, price incentive and agribusiness improvement, research and development, farmers’ access to capital, farmers’ partnerships with businessmen, restructuring the bio-diesel processing, and standardization.

Abstract

CV.

Abstract

This study examines the dilemma of rice import policy in Indonesia within the context of international trade and food security challenges. Rice, as a strategic commodity, holds significant social, economic, and political value, making import policies highly influential on price stability, farmers’ welfare, and national food security. The research identifies that import policies are often misaligned with domestic needs due to weak inter-institutional coordination, data inaccuracies, and pressures from political and business interests. As a result, import policies frequently create imbalances between the interests of consumers, traders, and local farmers, while also reducing the competitiveness of domestic rice due to inefficiencies in the distribution chain and post-harvest infrastructure. This study emphasizes the importance of data-based, transparent, and farmer-protective governance of rice import policies to strengthen national food security amid global trade liberalization pressures. hain, trade liberalization.
Pengaruh aplikasi Trichoderma harzianum terhadap pengendalian jamur Fusarium oxysporum pada tanaman bayam brazil (Alternanthera sissoo): Trichoderma sp. is one of the biological control agents that can be used to manage soil-borne pathogens, including Fusarium sp. Abstract

Trichoderma sp. is one of the biological control agents that can be used to manage soil-borne pathogens, including Fusarium sp. This study aimed to determine the effect of Trichoderma sp. on the growth, yield, and effectiveness in controlling fusarium wilt in Brazilian spinach (Alternanthera sissoo). The experiment used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and six replications. The study was conducted in the Paranet Screen House, Sidobunder Village, Puring Subdistrict, Kebumen Regency. The treatments consisted of Trichoderma sp. doses of 0 g/plant (control), 10 g/plant, 20 g/plant, and 30 g/plant. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by an Honest Significant Difference (HSD) test at the 0.05 significance level. The results indicated no occurrence of fusarium wilt in plants treated with any dose of Trichoderma sp. or in the control treatment. This was presumed to be due to environmental conditions that were unfavorable for the growth of Fusarium sp. A dose of 10 g/plant of Trichoderma sp. resulted in optimal growth and yield for Brazilian spinach (Alternanthera sissoo).

Abstract

Juvenile cataract is one of the leading causes of visual impairment in children and adolescents, either due to congenital abnormalities or acquired factors. This condition may significantly reduce quality of life and carries a risk of amblyopia if not managed promptly. We report a 12-year-old boy presenting with blurred vision in the right eye for the past seven months, worsening within the last month. The patient complained of cloudy vision, difficulty seeing both near and far objects, and frequent glare. His mother noticed a whitish spot on the right eye. Ophthalmological examination revealed visual acuity of 1/300 in the right eye, leukocoria, whitish lens opacity, and a positive shadow test, while the left eye was within normal limits. The patient was diagnosed with juvenile cataract in the right eye and scheduled for cataract extraction with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.
