Abstract

An atmospheric of Argon plasma jet is generated with column dielectric barrier discharge high voltage alternating current. Characterization of Argon plasma jet is used to observe the effect of variations in the voltage (V) to the length of the plasma jet. Voltage (V) and current (I) were analyzed to identify its effect to the length of the plasma jet. In this study, Argon gas is passed through the capillary column by regulating the flow rate of gas. Then the voltageis being increased until the plasma jet can be seen. Voltage is used consecutively in the range 0 to 10,5 kV at flow rate of Argon gas is 3 L / min. The result shows that electrical current increase and then reach saturation condition by the increase of voltage. The increase of the length of the plasma jet were given by the increase of the applied voltage. This research indicates that the length of the plasma jet characteristics tends to increase. The value of the voltage is affects to the value length of the plasma jet.

Abstract

A research on the application of dielectric barrier discharge reactor configured as a cylindrical spiral using ozone-producing which using the air as  source  and in atmospheric conditions. In this study, the observed effect of ozonation to show the influence to  dissolved oxygen, pH and Calcium carbonate. Active Electrode using copper wire spiral and has pyrex to be the dielectric. Plasma produce using AC voltages of 2 kV, 10 kV, 12.5 kV and frequencies between 880 Hz to 891 Hz. Air flow rate of 1.5 L / min. At the same time ozonation, using different voltage produce different ozone concentrations. If more voltage applied, the concentration of ozone is increasing. Similarly, the measurement of dissolved oxygen concentration and Calcium carbonate. But of water pH measurements obtained tends to be stable.Keywords: Calcium carbonate, DBD reactor, dissolved oxygen, ozone, pH.

Abstract

Research has been done on the levels of plasma radiation influence elements of nitrogen and protein samples of cow feed pellets from waste corn plant. Plasma being used in this study are positive corona plasma, which are generated using high voltage direct current (DC) with multiple point to plane electrode configuration, where the distance between the electrodes of 2.5 cm.On the research of this variable are used i.e. with voltage variations of quantity (3-9.5) kV, where the samples without treatment used as controls. Plasma reactor used in the research of electrode of multi point to plane, in which the electrodes point is connected to the positive electrode. Distance between electrodes of 2.5 cm.High electrical field strength around the electrodes can ionize the gas molecules of nitrogen around the active electrode. Ions of nitrogen is depositioning to the sample, so would the levels of nitrogen. Voltage variations can affect the amount of ions formed thereby affecting the levels of nitrogen samples. From this research conclusion effective voltage plasma radiation occurs at voltage 4 kV with levels of nitrogen 1.169% or the equivalent of 7.30% protein. These results meet minimum standards of proteins, suggested by Parakkasi (1999) of 7%.Keywords: plasma, ion, pellets, nitrogen, protein.

Abstract

Theoretical studies have been conducted on the Cross-sectional scattering equation which is one of the effects from collisions between electrons with ion. This theoretical studies aim to obtain the differential cross-section scattering equations of electrons with ion. Born approximations were used and convert potential energy into potential energy which is obtained from the distribution of ions in the Debye sphere, so the new equation for the scattering of amplitude that can write  will comparable with total sum of ions and also the scattering of cross section is   will too comparable with the large of Debye sphere. Keywords: scattering of amplitude, scattering of cross section, Born approximation, potential energy, Debye sphere, total sum of ions

Abstract

The research on application of Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma with spiral-cylindrical configuration to produce ozone has been done. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ozone on the physical characteristics of rice which include discoloration, hardness, and the value of amilograph.Ozone reactor that used in this research have a spiral electrode made of wire, and dielectric material was pyrex tube. Plasma discharge was generated by AC high voltage up to 9 kV. Air flow rate used as a determinant of ozone concentration characteristic was 6 liters/min, while for treatment the air flow rate that used was 4 liters/min in order to obtain the ozone concentration of 10 ppm. Ozone is produced by inserting the free air into the reactor. Ozone concentration is determined by varying the voltage, while ozone generated is detected by ozone meter.The results showed that that the effect of ozonation to physical character of rice was not give significant changes and has a tendency to increase the quality of rice.
