Abstract

Bahasa telah menjadi alat bantu yang berperan penting dalam kehidupan, tidak hanya bagi manusia, tapi bahkan bagi seluruh makhluk hidup. Bahasa menjadi jembatan komunikasi antara manusia guna menyampaikan keinginan, pikiran, emosi dan lain-lainnya. Bagi agama, bahasa menjadi sarana penting bagi dakwah, dan secara komunal, bahasa telah menjadi ekspresi budaya bagi menegaskan eksistensi kesukuan, dan secara nasional menjadi alat bagi pemersatu bangsa yang memiliki keragaman suku seperti halnya Indonesia.Namun ternyata tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa bahasa yang seharusnya menjadi penegas identitas kesukuan tersebut malah menjadi media ashabiyah yang dibingkai oleh arogansi dan dominasi kesukuan jika pribadi-pribadi penuturnya tidak memiliki kepekaaan sosial dan semangat nasionalisme. Tidak jarang ditemukan person-person yang masih tetap menggunakan bahasa daerah masing-masing jika berdialog di tempat-tempat umum yang tentunya hanya dipahami oleh sesama suku saja. Meskipun hal itu dengan maksud yang baik dalam rangka merekatkan kembali emosi kesukuan, namun bagi suku lain yang ikut mendengar dan tidak paham maka bisa jadi memicu ketersinggungan dan kesalahpahaman.Pada sisi lain, upaya menjaga eksistensi bahasa lokal (daerah) yang sarat dengan kearifan lokal tetap penting dipertahankan seiring dengan upaya menumbuhkan kearifan lokal dalam rangka menjaga dan melestarikan kebudayaan nasional. Pada sisi yang lain pula, bahasa indonesia tetap dibutuhkan guna menjadi kohesi sosial di tengah kebudayaan yang heterogen di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan upaya serius untuk tetap menjaga eksistensi keduanya tanpa harus membangun sekat-sekat sosial baru yang memicu disintegrasi bangsa.

Abstract

This research aims to illustrate the integration between revelation and the local culture of the Sengkang city community. This research uses qualitative research with historical and anthropological approaches. The tradition of Mappanre Temme', also known as Mappanre Lebbe, is a traditional event of Khataman al-Qur'an conducted by the Bugis community as a form of worship because one of the family members has been ready or has finished reading the Holy Qur'an. Mappanre Temme' implemented maccera, which means as a thank you to ustadz (teacher) and hand over foodstuffs, and as a thank you to parents by slaughtering cows, goats, or chickens, depending on the level of community performance. Maccera can be livestock or foodstuffs such as rice, coconut, and bananas. The phenomenon of Mappanre Temme' is always hereditary by the people of Sengkang city, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi is not only a culture that appears just like that. But this tradition arises because it is inspired by a hadith, as a form of practice from the companions of the Prophet, referred to as the mauquf hadith, which later developed into a tradition inherent in society.

Abstract

The purpose of the study illustrates that marriage contains good social values in character education. Ethnographic method is the research of the culture of a community. Ethnographic research involves extensive observations of the Bugis community in Tana Luwu, most often through participant observation, where researchers immersed in the daily lives of the community and observed and interviewed participants in the group. Bugis wedding ceremony in the implementation of mappacci or tudampenni means cleanliness of the body and sanctity of the soul. The value of sacredness is clearly seen from the implementation of various special rituals such as bathing refuse bala, reading barzanji things is the value of respect for women. On the other hand, community marriage has character values such as help; It is clearly a social value embodied in this tradition. The concept of help cannot be separated from the principle of gotong royong. Solidarity; The value of solidarity cannot be separated from this tradition. What's more, there has been a value that is maintained in this tradition, namely gotong royong and please help. Communicative; It is one of the most important parts of this tradition, because if there is no communication in any case, then it is very impossible that stage by stage of the implementation of the mappanre temme' tradition will be carried out. Ethics in Bugis culture can strengthen pangedereng (customs) and connect with each other.
