<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa kelas VII MTsN 2 Banda Aceh memahami struktur dan informasi dalam teks ekposisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis. Populasi penelitian ini berjumlah 259 siswa dengan sampel 38 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik penilaian hasil kerja siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kemampuan siswa kelas VII MTsN 2 Banda Aceh memahami struktur dan informasi dalam teks eksposisi adalah 82. Berdasarkan acuan penilaian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan siswa kelas VII MTsN 2 Banda Aceh memahami struktur dan informasi dalam teks eksposisi berada pada kategori baik yaitu berada pada rentang 76-85. Secara khusus nilai rata-rata memahami struktur teks eksposisi adalah 88 dan nilai tersebut termasuk ke dalam kategori baik sekali yaitu pada rentang 86-95. Kemudian memahami informasi dalam teks eksposisi nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh adalah 67 dan nilai tersebut berada pada kategori sedang yaitu pada rentang 66-75. Dengan demikian, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas VII MTsN 2 Banda Aceh mampu memahami struktur dan informasi dalam teks eksposisi.Kata kunci: Kemampuan siswa, memahami, struktur, informasi, teks eksposisi. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the ability of VII students of MTsN 2 Banda Aceh to understand the structure and information in the text of the exposition. This research uses quantitative approach with analytical technique. The population of this study amounted to 259 students with a sample of 38 students. The data collection is done by the technique of assessing student work result. The results showed that the average score of the ability of grade VII students of MTsN 2 Banda Aceh to understand the structure and information in the exposition texts was 82. Based on the appraisal reference indicated that the level of ability of the VII students of MTsN 2 Banda Aceh understood the structure and information in the exposition texts are in the category Either that is in the range 76-85. In particular the mean value of understanding the structure of expository text is 88 and that value falls into the excellent category of 86-95. Then understand the information in the exposed text the average value obtained is 67 and the value is in the medium category that is in the range 66-75.
