Abstract

 In Biology learning especially in memorized material found a symptom of decreasing student’s activity and achievement. An alternative that can be used to increase student’s learning activity and achievement is using mind map technique. This research aims to know influence using mind map technique towards student’s learning activity and achievement. The design was pretest posttest group non equivalent. Sample are students from X6 and X7 which selected by cluster random purposive sampling. Quantitative data from the average of pretest and posttest scores which analyzed with Mann-Whitney U test and t-test. Qualitative data are student’s learning activity and responses about using the mind map technique which descriptively analyzed. Result of this study shown that the mind map technique can increase the student’s learning activity. Using it had not significant effect on student’s achievement. Almost of students also give positive responses to use mind map technique. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik mencatat Mind Map terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Desain penelitian ini pretes postes kelompok tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X6 dan X7 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretes dan postes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U dan uji-t. Data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa terhadap penggunaan teknik mencatat Mind Map yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknik mencatat Mind Map meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa. Penggunaan teknik mencatat Mind Map tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan teknik mencatat Mind Map dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa dan tidak berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok Protista. Kata kunci: aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa, protista, teknik mencatat Mind Map.

Abstract

Base in the observation on XI IPA 1 grade students of senior high school Bukit Kemuning  known that XI IPA 1 class  in even semester academic year 2011/2012 shows the average value mastery of the material of the human movement system is still lo, seen the average of student scores that 60,83 well below from the mastery learning that 65,0.  The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the use of teaching materials leaflet with teaching models TPS towards the activity and student lerning outcomes in the subject matter of the movement system.  This research is quasi experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. A sample of this reaserch is XI IPA 1 grade students of senior high school Bukit Kemuning. The data of this study was obtained from the test (pretest and posttest) and the observation sheet (students learning activities). data analysis using a t-test with the program SPSS17.The results showed that an increased in the average between the pretest (71,73) and posttest(71,73).  The average student activity at the third metting increased by 5,88%.  Also based on the data questionnaire leaflet interest of teaching materials, all students stated instructional material leaflet in interesting (96,32%). Thus, learning to use instructional materials leaflet is effect on activity and learning outcomes of XI IPA 1 grade students of senior high school Bukit Kemuning the subject matter of the human movement system. Keywords: Leaflet, Teaching materials, TPS, Learning activities, Larning outcomes, Movement system

Abstract

Learning activity and student material mastery In Junior High School 2 Tulang Bawang Tengah are still low. One of alternative to increase the activity and matter material mastery of the Creatures Growth and Development by students which are Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model, a learning model that can be increases learning activity even though effecting to students. Experimental design uses pretest posttest non equivalent group. The sample in this study is VIII D as a experimental class and VIII E as a control class which choose by cluster random sampling. The quantitative data is taken from the average of pre-test and post-test point and then analyzed with statistic using T-test by SPSS 17 program. The qualitative data is learning activity student which taken from observation paper as long as learning activity. The result of this study are  showing the application of NHT learning models have a significant impact to increase learning activity and mastery student matter. For seen, N-gain average experiment class is 53,6. The percentage average of student learning activity in experiment class which used NHT learning model are high category 12,91 %. Keywords: NHT  learning model, student learning activity, student matter mastery and material of the Creatures Growth and Development

Abstract

ABSTRACTCritical thinking skill is important for students to overcome their daily life problem . Result of observation of class VIII  SMP Negeri 1 Pardasuka, showed that students’ critical thinking skill was still low. The purpose of this research is to find out  the influence of multimedia interactive by using guided inquiry learning model to students’ critical thinking skill. The aspecs of students critical thingking observed  were to identify, to give example, to make differences, to interpretation, to generallized, to give assumption. Students activities observed were to give idea, to disscuss, to present, to answer questions, to ask question. This research used   pretest posttest group non- equivalent designed. The sampel were students of class VIII E and class VIII F  chosen at cluster randomly. The quantitative data was obtained from N-gain, and was analyzed by t-test at realibility of 5 %. Qualitative data were  the  students’ activity collected  during  process  which was  analyzed in the percentage of average. Students’ questionnaire responses on  using   multimedia interactive with guided inquiry learning  was analyzed descriptively. The  N-gain analysis of students critical thinking was  0,4 in average, meaning  that the use of multimedia interactive  using guided inquiry learning model  influenced significantly toward students’ critical thinking. In term of students activities, asking questions aspect reach the highest (54,5%).

Abstract

Observation results show that mastery of the Virus subject matter on grade X Swadhipa’s student Senior High School in Natar is still low. This research aims to know the influence of the using picture cards media on students learning activities and mastering of the Virus subject matter for students. This research was quasi experimental design with unequivalent pretes postes group. The research samples are grade X1 and X2 which are selected from population by cluster random sampling. This research data is in quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data is obtained from the average of pretes and postes value which is analyzed statistically with t-test at 95% confidence levels using SPSS 17 program. Qualitative data is analyzed by descriptive analysis in percentage value. The research data is obtained from the student activity observation forms, and students' responses on using of flash cards media with NHT model. The research result shows that the average of mastering on subject by group students experiment is greater than control group (experiment = 79,1; control = 70,20). Moreover, the average of increasing the mastery of all observation indicators are greater than class control (experiment = 48,28; control = 43,22). The average of increasing percentage of student activity to all obeservation aspects in class experiment are greater than class control (experiment = 85,18; control = 76,30). In addition, the majority of students give positive response on using of flash cards media. Thus, learning process use flash card media with NHT learning model effects to improve the learning activity and mastery of the Virus subject matter on students.  Keywords: Flash Card, NHT, Learning Activity, Mastering Subject, Virus

Abstract

The observations were performed in the Junior High School  2 Ambarawa , especially the eighth grade, biology shows that subjects regarded as a difficult subject understandable to students. This is because learning takes place in conventional and low interest in reading students' biology textbooks. One effort that can be done to increase reading and student results of learning is through the use of  Leaflet teaching materials types Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model. This study aims to determine the improvement of student results of learning in the subject matter of human development after being treated with a Leaflet through tipeJigsaw koopertif learning model. The results showed an increase in the average between pretest and posttest values were measured with N-gain in the experimental class at 55.75 is higher than the control class at 46.89. Average of the highest values in the aspect of understanding that is equal to 59.75 while the average low of results of learning in analyzing aspects of 34.2. Average student learning activities in the experimental class higher at 75.53 compared to 68.34 in the control classes. Given these results it can be concluded that the use of instructional materials Leaflets through Jigsaw cooperative learning model type significantly in improving students' junior high school 2 Ambarawa on the subject matter of Human Development. Abstract

The purpose of this study was determine the effect of video media to increase student’s problem-solving skill at class X SMA Negeri 1 Banjar Agung. The research design was pretest-posttest non-equivalent groups. The samples in this study were students class X1 and X4  who selected by random cluster sampling technique. Quantitative data obtained from the average value of pretest and posttest were statistically analyzed using t-test. Qualitative data obtain from student learning activity. The results showed that the video media can improve student’s problem-solving skill significantly, it was seen on the experimental class average value of N-gain was 0,61 and the control class has 0,46. The average of percentage increase in all student learning activity aspect that activity in the experiment class was higher than control class. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media video terhadap peningkatan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah oleh siswa pada kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Banjar Agung. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretes-postes kelompok tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X1 dan X4 yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretes dan postes yang dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji-t. Data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media video melalui model pembelajaran TPS berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. ini terlihat pada rata-rata nilai N-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,59 dan rata-rata nilai N-gain kelas kontrol sebesar 0,46. Rata-rata persentase peningkatan aktivitas siswa dalam semua aspek yang diamati  pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar siswa, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, media video

Abstract

One of the life skills that need to be developed through a process of education is critical thinking skills, but in MAN 1 (Model) Bandar Lampung, critical thinking skills students have not developed optimally. This study aimed to determine the influence of illustrated cards media through Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning model towards the increase of students' critical thinking skills.This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design in non-equivalent groups. The research samples were class X4 and X5, selected from the population in accordance with cluster random sampling. The data of this study in the form of quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data was obtained from the average value of pretest and posttest, were statistically analyzed by t-test with SPSS version 17 at the level of 95%. Qualitative data in the form of descriptions of students' critical thinking skills, students’ activity data and students’ responses to the use of illustrated card media through TAI learning model that analyzed descriptively. The results showed students' critical thinking skills in experimental class as a whole or for each indicator has increased (pretest = 0.84; posttest = 42.79, N-gain = 0.42). The average percentage of students’ activity in experiments class also showed improvement in all aspects. In addition, all students gave positive responses to the use of illustrated card media through TAI learning model. Thus, learning to use the illustrated card media through learning model TAI influential on the increase of students' critical thinking skills.
