Abstract

A thought is not born from a vacuum, so that every thought has its own unique and different from each other, before and after. Knowledge and experience of someone greatly influence the pattern she thought. No exception was a great thinker origin Austria and influence on the modern century and even till now he is Karl R. Popper. The concept of epistemology Popper is relating to falsification human knowledge to answer the question of demarcation by the Wina Circle. Their demarcation is deemed irrelevant to the science that became the border wall between meaningful and meaningless. This is caused by the principle of verification method using induction. Where induction seen redundant and inconsistent. As for the relevance of epistemology Popper with the thought of Islam can foster an attitude of tolerance of logical thinking. The critical attitude of the very means to resolve the tension between the two thoughts are not the same. Critical are not only aimed at the external but more internal. So one another will open up to dialogue are thought-provoking.

Abstract

A discourse needs to be exposed in order to know its deepest meaning and what variables are hidden behind it. That is what this research wants to present through genealogical theory. The material object is Raghib al-Isfahani's moral thought, which is quite unique, namely making the shari'ah conception as its center. This study will discuss two main things, namely, (1) how is the conception of sharia in Raghib al-Isfahani's moral thought; (2) how is the genealogical construction of Raghib al-Isfahani's moral thought. This research is a library research. Michel Foucault's theory is used as an analytical knife. The results state: first, the conception of shari'ah in Raghib's moral thought has expanded its meaning, namely ahkam al-syariah and makarim al-syariah. Ahkam al-Sharia gave birth to dogmatic moral behavior as well as being the foundation of Makarim al-Sharia. As for Makarim al-Shariah itself gave birth to ethical moral behavior. Second, the genealogical construction of Raghib's moral thought is formed from several factors, the existence of a power struggle that causes social disorder (social disorder), the supremacy of sharia in all fields carried out by the Bani Seljuq government, and the development of imamate discourse by the assassin extremism movement. Raghib's moral thought was to rehabilitate the behavior of the people at that time while at the same time stemming the influence of the priestly discourse which tended to be destructive.

Abstract

The progress of the digital world influences the structure of religious discourse. The development of religious discourse in digital space, especially social media, has run wild without control. One-sided truth claims are getting stronger. So Khaled Abou el-Fadl's offer deserves consideration, namely the morality of discourse as the authority for religious discourse on social media. This research focuses on how the morality of discourse can be used as a basis for the power of religious discourse on social media. This research is descriptive-qualitative, which is a conceptual study using library data. Through a holistic approach, the reference data is analyzed through data reduction and data presentation. The data presented are adapted to relevant perspectives, interpreted based on theories, classified into concepts, and narrated in a new understanding of the phenomenon under study. As a result, discourse morality procedures in the authority structure of religious discourse on social media need to be upheld so that belief in God as the highest authority is not replaced by unilateral claims. In addition, the morality of discourse can also be the basis for government policies to regulate and limit religious discourse discussed on social media.

Abstract

The concept of dramaturgy focuses on social life as a dramatic performance with the strategy of creating an appealing image for the public. The purpose of this research is to examine the roles and challenges of using dramaturgy in selecting an ideal leader. This research uses qualitative methods. Informants in this study consist of community figures, traditional leaders, and legislative candidates in Mancani Village. Data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques applied include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results show that dramaturgy in leadership selection can reveal aspects of leaders that may not be apparent through their vision and mission, build attractiveness towards leaders in the eyes of the public, and effectively package political messages to create a convincing image. However, challenges in implementing dramaturgy include maintaining the authentic identity of a leader, difficulty in distinguishing between genuine character and constructed imagery, and diverse expectations from the community towards their leaders. Therefore, leaders must maintain their integrity and authentic identity in fulfilling their leadership roles. This helps them meet the expectations of the people they lead and maintain the trust that has been established.

Abstract

This is exploratory and constructionist research since it focuses on the Rambu Solo tradition and the social dynamics of the Toraja ethnic community in Lare-Lare Village. The problems proposed include how the Rambu Solo procession takes place and the way this tradition affects the social dynamics of the Toraja ethnic community. This research is qualitative since it uses a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that, First, the procession of the Rambu Solo death traditional ceremony in Lare-Lare Village passes through several stages including the pre-implementation, implementation, and the post-implementation. In the pre-implementation, the Toraja ethnic community forms a committee and prepares Lakkian with Lantang as a resting place for guests. A Rante (funeral) procession is carried out in the middle of the tongkonan traditional house, including Ma'tudan Mebalun (decorating the corpse like a bride), Ma'rato (decorating the coffin), Ma'papengkalao Alang (lowering the corpse into the barn to be buried), Ma'palao/Ma'pasonglo (delivering the corpse from the tongkonan to the burial area called Lakkian), traditional art performances of Ma'pasilaga Tedong and Ma'Badong (fighting buffalo), and Ma'tinggoro Tedong (slaughtering buffalo) at the implementation stage. In the post-implementation, the committee is disbanded and the ceremonial facilities are dismantled followed by the Ma'pakendek Tanduk Tedong tradition (raising a buffalo horn to the front of the tongkonan). This buffalo horn ornament symbolizes the economic capacity of the owner. Second, the implementation of Rambu Solo causes positive and negative impacts on the Toraja ethnic community since it has experienced a shift in social elements. The positive impact of implementing this traditional ceremony is to become a unifier between distant families and to develop cultural elements outside the home. Meanwhile, the negative impact is the potential for eroding kinship ties due to problems of family economic resilience dealing with the Rambu Solo tradition.

Abstract

This research uses virtual ethnography to analyze TikTok usage patterns and the phenomenon of communication ecstasy among students in Palopo City. The qualitative field research method employed involves the use of questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. A total of 53 students from universities in Palopo City participated in the questionnaire, and four were selected for further analysis through interviews. Data were analyzed using reduction techniques, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results reveal that TikTok usage is prevalent among students, with daily use averaging over three hours per day. The purpose of use varies, including entertainment, information seeking, stress relief, hobby expression, and money-making. The phenomenon of communication ecstasy is evident in students' addiction to digital symbols like "like," "comment," "share," and "save." TikTok features enable students to immerse themselves in total simulation, blurring the lines between reality and virtuality, representation and reference, and facilitating the creation of simulacra and hyperreality. The implications suggest that TikTok is significantly altering communication patterns among students, leading to a shift from in-depth, meaningful interactions to more superficial, symbolic exchanges. This shift fosters a pseudo-environment where students can meticulously curate and project an idealized version of themselves, further obscuring the boundaries between authenticity and performance. As a result, the emphasis on visual storytelling and viral trends can lead to a culture of comparison and validation, potentially impacting students' self-esteem and social skills in the long term
