Abstract

Optimization of system capacity electric power transmission systems requires a reliable power flow controller. The power flow controllers must be able to control the level of electrical voltage and active and reactive power flow without reducing the level of stability and security of the transmission system. Latest technology in the control of power flow is a Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC). The entire transmission line parameters are impedance, voltage, and phase angle can be controlled simultaneously by the UPFC. The method used in the conventional algorithms based UPFC is still firmly with logic. These algorithms have difficulties to electric power transmission systems multimachine very dynamic, i.e. systems that are experiencing rapid changes in the electrical load from time to time. Therefore, in this study was developed based on neuro-fuzzy method is applied to the adaptive UPFC for adaptively controlling the power flow in electric power transmission systems multimachine very dynamic. In this study, three phase fault is applied to the multimachine system. The results are taken to be consideration of PI and neuro-fuzzy controllers. The PI and neuro-fuzzy controllers show nearly same results but there is a low overshoot occurred during the fault in the neuro-fuzzy controllers results. According to results that UPFC improves the system performance under the transient and the normal conditions. However, it can control the power flow in the transmission line, effectively.

Abstract

Aside from being a place of lectures, UMY also has several business units such as building rental, bus rental, auto care, and drinking water production. From the activities of UMY's business unit caused the number of outside vehicles entering UMY. The public vehicle does not have RFID as well as the UMY's internal civitas. Currently still using manpower to provide parking cards and open the door. In this study, a prototype of an automated parking system can provide a parking card and open the entrance. This prototype uses a switch as a sensor, a microcontroller as a controller, LCD as a guide display for the model of vehicle that will enter, and motor servo DC as the driver of parking doors. The entire circuit is able to form a prototype automatic parking door at UMY

Abstract

The household sector plays an important role in the energy demand in Indonesia. Households consume more than 50% of total energy in many major cities in Indonesia and account for 34% of the total energy demand. The main share of capital allocation and attention, however, has gone to rural electrification programs over the past years with mixed results, due to an abundance of problems during the operation phase. We propose that government attention and capital should be broadened to policy development for solar home systems for urban areas. The problems that are encountered by rural electrification projects are mainly due to a lack of resources and unclear task allocation between involved parties and difficulties of addressing problems in remote environments. These risks are insignificant in urban areas where maintenance services are available and where solar home systems can be commercially interesting for higher income consumers without the need for subsidy. By means of a cost benefit analysis, this paper shows that solar home systems can be commercially interesting for households in urban areas. Different investment scenarios were worked out with systems costing 5%, 10%, and 15% of the total average house price. The analysis indicates that the policy is feasible when solar systems are coupled to the grid but not for off-grid systems. This is because the battery leads to high investment and maintenance cost. From a government point of view, developing policy towards renewable energy usage in urban households could help to reach national  electrification and environmental targets without extra capital allocation as well as relieve pressure on the already overburdened state electricity company, the PLN.

Abstract

Batik merupakan kain yang motif dan pewarnaannya dibuat menggunakan teknik tradisional denganmemanfaatkan lilin. Badan dunia UNESCO telah menetapkan batik Indonesia sebagai warisankemanusiaan untuk budaya lisan dan nonbendawi. Oleh karena itu menjadi tanggungjawab seluruhkomponen bangsa untuk melestarikan batik, diantaranya dengan memperkuat industri batik. Salahsatu industri batik unggulan di Indonesia adalah industri batik Bantul Yogyakarta. Sebagaimanaumumnya di Indonesia, industri batik Bantul juga berstatus kelas usaha kecil dan menengah (UKM).Dari puluhan UKM batik di kabupaten Bantul, dua UKM yang mempunyai potensi untuk berkembangyaitu UKM Batik Ida Lestari dan UKM Batik Arjo Munir. Kendala kedua UKM ini adalah prosesproduksi yang masih menggunakan kompor minyak tanah, sementara harga minyak tanah semakinmahal dan terkadang sulit didapat. Persoalan lain adalah sering putusnya aliran listrik PLN. Keduapersoalan ini cukup mengganggu UKM batik sehingga menghambat proses produksi. Oleh karenaitu dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini diaplikasikan green technology berupa kompor batik listrik daninstalasi solar home system 400W untuk suplai daya listrik. Aplikasi green technology tersebut telahmembuahkan hasil yang sangat bermanfaat. Penggunaan kompor batik listrik mampu menekanbiaya produksi hingga 75%. Pemanfaatan solar home system sangat membantu terutama sebagaisumber listrik untuk pompa air dan lampu dalam proses pelepasan lilin (pelorodan) yangmembutuhkan banyak air. Aplikasi teknologi ini menjadikan UKM batik mengurangi ketergantungankepada catu daya listrik PLN. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat selama setahun ini telahberhasil membantu meningkatkan kapasitas produksi kedua UKM. Produktivitas UKM Batik IdaLestari meningkat dari rata-rata 200 menjadi 250 lembar kain batik per bulan. Demikian juga UKMBatik Arjo Munir, dimana produktivitasnya meningkat dari rata-rata 400 menjadi 450 lembar kainbatik per bulan. Peningkatan produktivitas ini dibarengi dengan peningkatan laba kotor UKM sebesar20%.

Abstract

Tujuan Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah membantu sekaligus memberdayakan masyarakat dalam memenuhi akan lahan hijau di lingkungan sekitarnya. Selain itu masyarakat juga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan akan sayur mayur sederhana untuk kepentingan sendiri maupun kelompok masyarakat. Target khusus kegiatan PKM ini adalah bisa memberikan dan mengaplikasikan teknologi tepat guna kepada masyarakat. Diharapkan dengan membuta prototype yang aplikatif di tengah masyarakat, ini bisa dikembangkan secara luas. Masyarakat bisa bergotong royong untuk pengadaan barang/ secara mandiri. Oleh karena itu yang dirancang tidak akan membebani masyarakat secara individu. Kegiatan PKM ini juga menargetkan luaran publikasi di jurnal nasional ber-ISSN, publikasi di laman prodi, dan publikasi di surat kabar “Harian Jogja”. Kegiatan ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi dalam rangka mendukung upaya pemerintah akan pemenuhan lahan hijau di wilayah perkotaan.
