Abstract

Cow dung waste at Srunen hamlet, Glagaharjo village, Cangkringan, Sleman is recorded to be high in quantity since it also has a high population of dairy cows. The high volume of cow dung waste leads to environment pollution, either water or air pollution. The environment pollution it causes may further trigger some problems regarding society’s health, safety and comfort. Thereby, the abundant quantity of cow dung waste needs to be well-managed and oriented for economics. One of among other technologies to manage cow dung waste which had never been implemented before is to utilize the waste as the raw material component of brick. Such brick production technology is not only environmentally friendly but is also resistant toward earthquake. This technology was introduced and implemented during the Community Service program at Glagaharjo village. The program was implemented through the methods of assessment and education, as well as feasibility test. Training and practice were conducted to adopt the technology of environmentally friendly and earthquake resistant cow dung brick. Further, the product was tested for its feasibility as construction material. The success of the program is shown from the society’s ability to produce the environmentally friendly and earthquake resistant brick which has also increased society’s income and the hamlet’s economy

Abstract

Collision avoidance multiple access plays a significant role in WirelessSensor Networks (WSN) as there may have a huge number of nodes in a network.Therefore, it has big chance to conflict when they want to send a packet to the server atthe same time. In our work, we focus on the sensor networks with two-tier network designarchitecture that composed of simple function nodes and presented performance analysisof the proposed collision avoidance multiple access protocol for Wireless SensorNetworks, with emphasis on the contention process exercising in each contention subframe.Then we also examine the efficiency of the overall system based on the simulationresults. The results shows that using different parameter of n, m, and k then the successfulprobability tends to increase, however after certain value of n, the successful probabilitywill decrease. Regarding the overall system efficiency, Esys, in order to get the optimumvalue of system efficiency, we have to maximize α. It is obvious that the bigger value of βwill produce bigger value of α. That is mean a shorter contention sub-frame leads to abetter efficiency of the systems, if Lr (average length of transmission sub-frame) is fixed.

Abstract

Reliability of distribution networks is a factor that greatly affects customers as consumers of electricity. Analyzing and calculating the reliability of distribution networks are determined by the reliability index including SAIFI, SAIDI, CAIDI, and ASAI. On the other hand, smartphone technology is growing rapidly with a variety of applications to help simplify and accelerate human work in several fields of work. This paper delivers the design of an Android-phone-based analytic tool for distribution system reliability index measurement by developing it on Android application software. This application is named KALINDA, stands for Kalkulator Indeks Keandalan (Reliability Index Calculator), and created by using Android Studio IDE. We compare the data result between KALINDA calculations and manual calculations. The results obtained from the KALINDA application are declared to be valid accurate.

Abstract

The development of communication technology in Indonesia is currently growing, one of which is cellular telecommunications technology. Cellular communication technology developed from the first generation to the present time has entered the 4th generation known as 4G LTE. The writing of this final project discusses the analysis and optimization of the 4G LTE network of Telkomsel seluer operators in Jombang, East Java. Measurements were made using the drive test method to test the 4G LTE network in the inner area of Jombang district. This testing is done to check the network in the inner area whether it is optimal in providing network to customers. This drive test uses a nemo handy device and to analyze drive test results using a nemo analyzer. The results measured when doing a drive test are RSRP, SNR, and throughput parameters. The results of the RSRP parameter get 95% of the total sample RSRP values -100 dBm to 0 dBm. The SNR parameter gets 94% of the total sample which has a value of 0 dB to 25 dB. The throughput parameter gets 95% of the total sample value above 1Mbps. After a drive test and analysis there are 4 areas that need to be optimized because in terms of quality or SNR and the data speed or throughput is below the standards applied by the operator.

Abstract

Energi non-fosil telah menjadi sebuah isu besar saat ini. Penggunaan energi yang berasal dari matahari,angin, panas bumi, dan energi terbarukan lainnya menjadi sebuah keharusan di beberapa negara,termasuk Indonesia. Tujuan program pengabdian masyarakat skim Kemitraan Masyarakat, kerja samaantara program studi Teknik Elektro UMY dengan Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Prambananadalah dengan membangun sebuah sistem pembangkit listrik sederhana yang bersumber dari energimatahari. Sistem ini dibuat untuk dua tujuan; sebagai fasilitas umum penerangan bila ada gangguanpada listrik PLN dan sebagai bahan pembelajaran bagi civitas di lingkungan MBS Prambanan. Denganmenggunakan skema PLTS off-grid atau tidak terhubung dengan jaringan listrik PLN. Komponen yangdigunakan adalah 3 x 300 Wp modul surya, solar charge controller jenis MPPT, baterai kapasitas 100 mAh jenis VRLA, inverter 12 VDC/230 VAC 500/1000 Watt, dan 3 x panel indikator (2 x watt-meter DC, 1 x watt-meter AC). Skema off-grid ini menghasilkan suatu sistem yang dapat menghasilkan listrik secara mandiri dengan total daya maksimal 100 Watt. Daya ini cukup untuk memenuhikebutuhan listrik lima lampu jalan umum di sekitar tempat parkir MBS Prambanan dengan jenis lampuLED masing-masing berdaya 20 Watt.

Abstract

This paper presents performance analysis of synchronous generator: a case study in steam power plant PT POMI Paiton unit 7 Probolinggo, East Java, Indonesia. The steam power plant is the most powerful in Indonesia. The dominance of this type of power plant can be seen from statistical data that until the end of 2018 there were 48.43% of steam power plants out of the total installed capacity of national plants. Generators used in steam power plants are generally of the synchronous generator type, which in its operation always experiences dynamics from time to time as the load changes in electricity. In this study, an analysis of the performance of synchronous generators has been carried out concerning changes in electricity load. Synchronous generator performance analysis includes output voltage, active power, reactive power, power factor, and generator efficiency. The steam power plant in this study is the largest capacity power plant in Indonesia, thus providing an important role in the supply of electric power. Based on the results of the study, it has been shown that although the load dynamics that experience changes are very dynamic, the generator performance still has good performance.

Abstract

Telecommunications technology is always developing every time from the beginning of the emergence of the first technology known as 1G in 1980 until now its development is growing rapidly, in this year 2019 telecommunications technology is using 4G technology that is sophisticated enough, to balance the sophistication, it must have efficient telecommunications procedures so that more optimal. One way to make the procedure more optimal, especially in paging, is by modifying the core network configuration located on the SGSN, from the initial use of the paging configuration to the adaptive paging configuration and prove whether it is more optimal by comparing the two configurations. The results of research that have been obtained from PT Indosat Ooredoo is that on SGSN Banjarmasin 4 (SGBJM4) an increase in the percentage of Paging Success Rate (PSR) of 0.96%. In SGSN Banjarmasin 5 (SGBJM5), the percentage value increased 0.1%. In SGSN Pontianak 1 (SGPTK1) an increase in the percentage value of 0.04%. As for the RRC Paging Discard Ratio (PDR) decreased when using the adaptive paging configuration by 48.85%.

Abstract

Analysis of the performance of the LTE network with WiFi networks was carried out in the G5 building of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, which is the building of the Faculty of Engineering Laboratory. This research was conducted by comparing the LTE network with indoor or indoor WiFi networks, measuring these two networks using the Network Analyzer and Wifi Analyzer application to obtain information on signal quality data based on KPI and TIPHON standardization, which shows RSRP, RSRQ, and Throughput values through measurement using the Network Analyzer and Wifi Analyzer application. From the results of research that has been done shows that the G5 building has a WiFi internet network that is superior to the LTE internet network. The overall condition of the Wifi network is in very good condition and is stable for each floor. While the LTE network even though it has increased conditions on the second floor but overall is in a bad condition to normal. The LTE network has an RSRP value with an average of -143 dBm, while a WiFi network with an average of -90 dBm. Then the LTE network has an RSRQ value with an average of -13 dBm, while the Wifi network with an average of -15 dBm. For LTE network throughput it has an average max. ping by 50.9 ms and min. ping is 864.5 ms, while WiFi networks have max average. ping by 24.3 ms and min. ping of 144.5 ms. From the results of these data show that the G5 Building has a good WiFi network and is superior to the LTE network.

Abstract

Tujuan Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah membantu sekaligus memberdayakan masyarakat dalam memenuhi akan lahan hijau di lingkungan sekitarnya. Selain itu masyarakat juga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan akan sayur mayur sederhana untuk kepentingan sendiri maupun kelompok masyarakat. Target khusus kegiatan PKM ini adalah bisa memberikan dan mengaplikasikan teknologi tepat guna kepada masyarakat. Diharapkan dengan membuta prototype yang aplikatif di tengah masyarakat, ini bisa dikembangkan secara luas. Masyarakat bisa bergotong royong untuk pengadaan barang/ secara mandiri. Oleh karena itu yang dirancang tidak akan membebani masyarakat secara individu. Kegiatan PKM ini juga menargetkan luaran publikasi di jurnal nasional ber-ISSN, publikasi di laman prodi, dan publikasi di surat kabar “Harian Jogja”. Kegiatan ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi dalam rangka mendukung upaya pemerintah akan pemenuhan lahan hijau di wilayah perkotaan.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 telah berlangsung hampir satu tahun dan belum menunjukkan tanda- tanda penurunan kasus, bahkan semakin meningkat. Penularan virus corona melalui droplet bisa langsung dari orang ke orang ataupun melalui media benda padat yang telah terkontaminasi virus. Oleh karena itu masyarakat diminta untuk selalu mencuci tangan, menjaga jarak dan memakai masker dalam setiap aktivitas. Untuk benda-benda yang mungkin menjadi media penularan bisa dilakukan desinfeksi dengan cairan disinfektan. Masyarakat telah mengenal cairan desinfektan dan telah jamak digunakan dalam kegiatan sehari- hari. Cara lain untuk melakukan desinfeksi adalah dengan penyinaran ultra violet (UV) terhadap benda-benda yang mungkin terkontaminasi. Saat ini telah banyak beredar peralatan desinfeksi UV yang bisa dibeli di toko-toko namun harga jualnya masih sangat tinggi, mencapai jutaan rupiah. Harga ini jelas tidak terjangkau oleh masyarakat bawah. Peralatan desinfeksi menggunakan paparan sinar UV sebenarnya bisa dibuat sendiri dengan biaya yang murah. Meskipun demikian banyak hal yang perlu disadari dalam penggunaan sinar UV karena mengandung bahaya bagi kulit atau mata yang terpapar langsung. Tujuan Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat akan cara lain dalam melakukan desinfeksi benda yang mungkin terpapar virus, serta membantu masyarakat untuk membuat UV chamber dan menghindari resiko yang mungkin terjadi.
