Abstract

Abstract: This study aims at investigating the use of peer review technique on students‟ writing organization ability. It becomes important since the process of revising the structural framework of writing is frequently ignored by most of the students. In fact, it is a pivotal aspect to help them construct their writings and facilitate the reader to understand the text effortlessly. In this study, the students are encouraged to think critically by reading, analyzing and giving advice to their peers‟ writing. By doing so, this technique will provide them with the authentic audience which can increase their motivation to write well. Thus, peer revising checklist is distributed to the students in order to help them reviewing their peers‟ writing. Experimental study is used in this study. It is conducted in Writing 2 class consisting of 60 students in English Education Department Siliwangi University Tasikmalaya. The result indicates that peer review has significant influence on the students‟ writing organization ability.Keywords: peer-review, writing organization, English Department’s students

Abstract

Practice of cultivating agroforestry plants is well known to the people of Tasikmalaya Regency is Cardamom Plants. The cultivation of this plant is faced with low quality and production. This is influenced by management which is still simple. This service activity is expected to be able to increase the ability to manage cardamom farming for farmers. This service activity using counseling methods and discussions with farmers regarding the management of cardamom farming according to standards. evaluation of service activity based on the farmers' response to this activity. From this service activity, it shows that the farmers are enthusiastic and give a satisfied response. Farmers are able to know the management that should be at every stage of cardamom farming activities.

Abstract

Multilingual identity awareness refers to the ability to recognize and navigate multiple language and cultural identities. Multilingual identity awareness is also closely related to differentiated learning that is in accordance with what students need. Therefore, it is very important to know what factors can influence multilingual identity awareness in learning English as a foreign language. The purpose of this study was to explore what factors can influence multilingual identity awareness in learning English as a foreign language. Data collection uses semi-structured interview and the data analysis used thematic analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, researchers found that there are several factors that can influence multilingual identity awareness in learning English as a foreign language, including educational factors, course assignments, environment, family factors, loves into language, language use, personal challenges and achievements, cultural beliefs and learners’ beliefs. The themes that include these factors include: (1) Experience; (2) Social Factors; (3) Learners’ Attitude Towards Language. Therefore, researchers conclude that in the context of multilingual identity awareness, the above factors can appear in someone who is learning English as a foreign language. The implication of this study is to provide references and knowledge for students who are studying English as a foreign language that multilingual identity is an asset, not an obstacle. For further research, it is recommended to conduct research with wider and more diverse participants, more critical data analysis and wider participant diversity.
