Abstract

The diversity of Malay culture in Riau Province becomes one of the things that must be preserved and developed in order to stay well preserved. Riau can be the center of Malay culture in Indonesia with its diverse cultural assets. Therefore, it is necessary to have a to appreciate and preserve Malay culture in order to maintain by providing facilitation of Malay Art Gallery in Pekanbaru. Art Gallery of Riau Malay Culture is designed to represent elements of Riau Malay culture on its design. The purpose of this research is to design the Malay Cultural Art Gallery of Riau by applying the elements of Neo-Vernacular Architecture and developed in a more modern form. In the design of Riau Malay Art Art Gallery, there are three main functions, namely manager-supporting, gallery, and amphitheater which of these three functions apply the elements of Neo-vernacular Architecture. this theme can be the basic reference in the design as well as the unique value that colored the overall design result. This approach will produce a modern form but still have local cultural values. the concept is "Ark of Lancang Kuning" which is an icon of Riau Malay culture. There are two main buildings namely the manager and the gallery. Building managers more emphasis on the concept and building the gallery more to the theme of the theme. Overall the building characterizes predefined themes and concepts.The combination of themes and concepts that will produce a modern form but still apply the value of local culture.Keywords: Riau Cultural Malay Art, Neo-Vernacular Architecture, Pekanbaru

Abstract

Sei Guntung Traditional Market is a market in the form of wooden tents selling on Yos Sudarso road in the form of dams and also on the banks of the Kateman River. This resulted in the road becoming narrow and the occurrence of congestion and pollution of the river due to the actions of the traders. Therefore, a new container for merchants is needed that is neatly and cleanly arranged. This development also pays attention to the standards of market health requirements and the dominant aspects of waterfront architecture and its elements. The design method used is the results of field surveys, documentation, analysis of qualitative data and quantitative data. The results of this design apply the concept of pompong analogy. The shape of the building in the form of pompong is the result of the application of pompong elements and waterfront architectural themes. This design utilizes the potential of the river as a river transportation service, sitting park, and foodstall. Abstract

Charismatic is the science of architecture concerned with the lokal wildlife potential and the complexity of the environment. The milky way architecture was applied to buildings using the wind as ventilation and sunlight as natural lighting on the buildings.volleyball alon is one of the most popular sporting branches in the neighborhood and childern. Abstract

Riau hasn’t have a complete sport facility for fencing. Considering the fact that fencing has plenty achievement on national scale, therefore goverment should have providing a place to held all its activity. Supported by good facilities then all the athletes are expected to be more passioned to do all the training so the achievement could be increased, wether on national scale or even international. Fencing is one of sportive and modern sport. As time goes by, all the equipment and technology on the used building will be developing in no time. For that, the place that can be used for training should be developing as well to keep the pace with current era. Using High Tech as the building’s theme could be seen on the use of glass materials, as well as the building’s bone structure, expressive and modern look and shape gave an appealing vibes on the building.Keywords: Fencing, High Tech, expressive, modern.

Abstract

Rupat Island is one of the districts in Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. Rupat Island area is fairly wide with a large population that has not had a single hospital, but only in the form of puskesmas, and non-inpatient health facilities. For that, the need for health facilities for people in Rupat Island is by providing hospitals. The purpose of this research is to design Class C General Hospital by applying the elements and principles of Healing Environment. The methods used include field data collection, literature study and empirical studies. The application of Healing Environment theme in Class C General Hospital in Rupat Island is considered to be in harmony because Rupat Island still has good environmental quality and the main function of the building as a health facility. General Hospital Design with Healing Environment approach directed more specifically with the use of the concept of Healthy With Nature. The mass concept resulted from the influence of natural environment conditions around the tread that has more potential and is supported by consideration of natural elements such as light, air, and plants. Abstract

Modern dance competition in Batam increases the interest of the community and tourists about the dance, but in Batam there is not a forum that can provide facilities for training, recreation, performances, and sports. Community need a place that can provide these facilities. The Modern Dance Center in Batam is a facilities for dance activities such as, education, performance, information, and other dance applications. This method uses the Expressionist Architecture approach so the building can express the emotions conveyed and can be felt by the viewer, so the expression is not only seen from the performances displayedbut also from the modern dance center building. In addition it is not only a building that provides facilities but also as a work of art. Through the concept of battle dance, buildings can show the strengths of styles and the differences between modern dance styles. So theexpression of freedom can be seen in buildings. There are 3 functions in this modern dance center building, namely: main function, supporting function, complementary function. The main functions are education and recreation there are training studios and auditoriums,supporting functions as commercials there are foodcourt and retail, and complementary functions there are managers and services.Keyword :Batam, Modern Dance Center, Expressionist Architecture

Abstract

Advance Technologies exist everywhere these day. They can accommodate a number of informative media about science and technology that are accessable for everyone, such as students and public. In this paper, the Science Technology Park is developed in University of Riau as a facility by using Bioclimatic Architecture approach in responding to the problem of energy efficiency and environment. Application of Bioclimatic Architecture becomes a medium for learn about buildings how they respons to local climate. From this, the concept of Hidden Sciemce is conveyed as visualization of teaching and learning facilities that is not visible directly from outside the site. Abstract

Food Center Departement Stores (Food Court) in Rokan Hulu is the only one center of the culinary tourism in Rokan Hulu. Culinary activities covered by the existing facilities in the design that is supported by views freely toward the waterfront area, namely Sungai Batang Lubuh. Through the concept of Eddies Flow design food court at the center of culinary tourism in Rokan Hulu can realize the main function of the design to be the center of culinary tourism in Rokan Hulu utilizing the potential of local wisdom in the surrounding waterfront area to be the development of the design using the response and approach application of Waterfront Architecture.keywords : Rokan Hulu, Food Court, Waterfront Architecture.

Abstract

Bangkinang currently does not have any appropriate facilities yet to accommodate and manage increasing trade activities. The growth of modern shopping centers as commercial areas reflects a form of trade and entertainment activities in a city that includes trade and service. Bangkinang has potency and competitiveness, so that economic development is needed for advancing the regional economic sector. Bangkinang Trade Center is a trading business center that can accommodate a variation of activities ranging from recreation, culinary, and buying and selling various kinds of goods to handicraft products. Trade Center is designed with a Contemporary Architecture approach aimed at making this facility grow rapidly and progressively, so it can make people interested to visit. The results of this design with the Stability concept are interpreted as stable and balanced. This concept is adapted to the guidelines of the theme of contemporary architecture and has a close relationship with the Trade Center. The main facilities that available at this Trade Center are convention rooms, exhibition halls, and retailers to accommodate traders. Abstract

Years of 2015, is a new era in ASEAN region, goes to compromise of ASEAN Economic Society (MEA). Every citizen in ASEAN region has equal opportunity in economic competition, without exceptionyouths. One of the most issues about youth is youth increasing ability program in ASEAN region. To reach this program, It needs a facility as container that known with youth center. Indonesia as country has mainly actor in increasing youthparticipation. It signs that Indonesian was being hosted some youth agendas. Therefore nowadays, Indonesia has not youth center facility that it can be container youth activity.Because of that it should produce youth center facility in Indonesia. Pekanbaru has wellchosen as location of youth center in Indonesia because it has strategic location, besides ofMalacca strait in which international trade routes and directly beside of some ASEAN country. ASEAN youth center perhaps afford to be ASEAN youth representative. Youth center in Pekanbaru emphasis is post-modern architecture, it means is combine modern style between vernacular architecture. It emphasis will produce modern shape but it still has local tradition or local genius. The aim of this research is designing ASEAN youth center inPekanbaru with Neo-Vernacular architecture as paradigm. Generally the strategy on this design such as zoning, mass shape, outdoor / landscape, circulation, structure, and facade.The result of this research is getting ASEAN youth center design in which combine some ASEAN architecture style like Malay, Hindu temple and Buddha temple.Keywords: ASEAN, Youth Center, Neo Vernacular, Pekanbaru.
