Abstract

The culinary world needs to be balanced with the preservation of the culinary Nusantara. It is necessary for harmony between the human environment and the natural environment or better known as organic architecture. The Unity of Nature concept applied to the building design and expected to realize an integrated spatial planning between different functions and activities. The concept was also implemented in mass and the shape of the pattern. Through organic architecture design method, the result was covered zone, mass order, exterior, mass formation, interior, and structure. Different functions separated in different zone, and the mass order used linear pattern that connected all three functions. Mass formation obtained from the formation adapted to the natural environment in the site. The used of structural systems in all three functions were organized to create comfortable interior space.Keywords: Culinary facilities, Organic Architecture, Unity of Nature

Abstract

Pekanbaru is the capital of Riau province which became one of the provinces whose economic growth is very rapid. From small economy sectors even up to business and foreign investors are in Pekanbaru. Pekanbaru also has become a destination town investors both from within the country and also abroad have been widely developed in the city of Pekanbaru. But the facilities and space requirements to support the economy really was little. Therefore, the hotel business is becoming one of the alternatives for developing the economic sector in the city of Pekanbaru. In the design of the hotel business, applied design approach emphasizes the principles of tropical architecture with the aim of building that is designed into a building that can decrease bad influence on the environment, nature, and human and produce a better and more healthy. However, to support this scheme deeper then also applied the concept of "dynamic building design" which is a concept with a combination of several elements supporting tropical architecture such as the orientation of the sun, the air, environment, footprint and also a structure that would be a unified whole in the building. Coupled with tropical architectural design strategy according to Ken Yeang be: (1) the Sun relates to the direction of the building; (2) Rain associated with the utilization of rain water to the building; (3) The shadow Associated with the shape of the building; (4) Moisture associated with air utilization strategies; (5) natural aesthetics associated with the aesthetics of the building. Abstract

Culture is a comprehensive lifestyle that is complex, abstract and broad. Along with the globalization, many cultures from other countries are entering and growing in Indonesia. One of the cultures that attract and take interest of Indonesians is Japanese Culture. Japanese culture has spread all over the world including Indonesia. Lots of Indonesians are interested in applying Japanese culture with the aim to become a better person. Japanese culture has been known at every point of the city in Indonesia including Pekanbaru. Activities related to Japanese culture are often held in Pekanbaru. In order to accommodate the enthusiasm of people who want to know and learn about Japanese culture, a particular place is needed to accommodate the cultural activities. The Japanese Cultural Center building is an activity center that specifically into Japanese culture to give insight, educative, recreational and as symbol to strengthen Indonesia-Japan bilateral Relations, and as a recreational function. The design of this building will apply a theme derived from the design principles of a Japanese architect Kenzo Tange, to create Japanese atmosphere in the building. Kenzo Tange has the characteristics of modernism and keeps showing Japanese architecture in its design. Based on the function and theme of building design, came up a concept of "Tranquility through Simplicity and Beauty". With simple placement and taking the natural element as a form of beauty, it can offer a calm feeling. The concept accompanies the design process so that it can create a building that is met with the expectation of Japanese culture lovers in Pekanbaru.Keywords: Cultural Center, Japan, Kenzo Tange

Abstract

Rokan Hilir has good potential for fisheries, and it has been proved since 2007, the production of fishery in Rokan Hilir Regency has been above 50.000 tons, (BPS, 2015). That potential needs to beaccomodated to education world to develop and increase production of fisheries in Rokan Hilir, considering historically Bagansiapiapi has ever been known as the second largest producer of fisheries production in the world. The planned means is High School of fishery. In High School of Fishery design, the design approach applied is echo-architecture design principle in order tosinergize the building with the environment. In order to emphasize the design “Bahtera Edukasi” concept is applied which is gotten from historical value of Bagansiapiapi. There are some criteriaof echo-architecture design principle: (1) Low Energy Usage; (2) Responsive to the Climate; and (3) environmentally Friendly. In this High School of Fishery design has 3 principal functions, theyare management, education, and dormitory which applies echo-architecture in order to make High School of Fishery responsive to the environment.Keywords: Bagansiapiapi High School of Fishery, Eco-Architecture, Bahtera Edukasi.

Abstract

The largest coconut plantation in Indonesiais located in peatlands of the Indragiri Hilir regency. High productivity of hybrid coconut is a source of income for farmers, communities and local revenue. Lack of facility to accommodate the needs of research and cultivation, breedingof hybrid varieties becomebackgounddesignof a Hybrid Coconut Research and Cultivation Center. This designis conducted by combining function of the facility in principle according to ‘form follow function’ and analyzed the design characteristics of Louis Henry Sullivan. The concept used in this design is optimum cubical space. Thisconcept means optimal using space to accommodate activities in buildings,which is expected to be research, education, and cultivation.The result of optimum cubical space application concept in Hybrid Coconut Research and Cultivation Center consisted zoning functions,internal space arrangements to accommodate the main functions, and on the building facades that apply the design characteristics.Keywords: Research Center, Cultivation, form follow function, Louis Henry Sullivan

Abstract

Culinary is a promising venture, can be seen from the large number of restaurants, cafes, and hotels that serve many interesting culinary. Growing number of culinary bussiness makes profesional chef much in need, but the facilities for study to become a professional chef is not yet available in the city of Pekanbaru. Culinary education facilities is a culinary educational spaces that are expected to facilitate the development of culinary activities where there is a non-formal education classes such as cooking course in theory or practice, seminars, and research. Culinary Education Facilities with Tangible Metaphor design approach aiming so that when people see the building will recognize the function of the building. As of the result of this design concept with the Frying Pan where the kitchen tool usage techniques is often known to public by stir frying. Culinary education facility provides the most important culinary education classes about teaching in kitchen (cooking class), pastry and bakery class, cooking class for kids, demontration class, and more. Abstract

The development of the Electronic Industry in Pekanbaru is increasing every year. But in the development of the Electronic Industry, many electronic sellers are spreading and not centralized in the city of pekanbaru. An obstacle for the community to look for information on electronic goods, so that it can be concluded that the means of promotion and information are inadequate. An electronic is needed for seller facility or facility centered in Pekanbaru city to bring people together in searching for electronic goods, therefore to overcome these problems, a container such as Electronic Central is needed to provide facilities for electronic entrepreneurs in Pekanbaru. Abstract

The ethuasiasm of adolescents in Pekanbaru to development of the arts, entertainment, sports, education, and recreation is quite large. This is done by their desire to create and angage these fields to relieve stress and return after their activities. The pattern of social interaction with teenegers being joined with ‘community’. But unfortunately the potential and achievement of adoloscents in the community is not supported by the availability of space and the masses in accordance with activity needs. Taking the location of design at Jl. Naga Sakti, Pekanbaru Youth Center is present as a solution of activity and interaction of adolescent with Decontruction Architecture as paradigm and applying four of Daniel Libeskinds design methods namely Metaphora, Fragmentation, Void, dan Disorientation. Abstract

Khusnul Khotimah Sosial Care Pekannaru is the only state-owned nursing home in Pekanbaru City, but with the increasing number of displaced elderly people, this nursing home can no longer accommodate elderly people. Besides capacity, design adjustments to the condition of the elderly must be done to create a conducive living community for the elderly themselves, this is because the elderly no longer have physical or mental stability. In this regard, the research methods used conducted to collect field data, literatures, and empirical studies. This redesign attempt has shown how the elderly must be cared for, shape behavior of elderly and the design that still adapts to the condition of the elderly. The results confirm that the principles of Caring Environment can be more appropriate in design for the elderly.Keyword: Caring Environment, Redesign, Nursing Home, Social Care

Abstract

Pekanbaru has the potential that can be developed through the field of basketball. However, there is a lack of attention from the government so that this potential is not developed well. Thus in need of proper containers for enthusiasts to make proud of Pekanbaru. In building a container is also paying attention to facilities that follow the standards in terms of architectural convenience. The research method used through field survey, documentation, and analysis of the lines on the basketball. The results of this research describes how the application of basketball can be applied in expressionist architecture by applying characteristics lines on Expressionist architectural elements, such as the shape of the building, circulation, structure, material, as well as color. This research can also confirm that the Basketball Training Center can be used as inspiration and applied to the design of the building of expression which followed expressionist architecture elements of the element itself.
