Abstract

Welding according to DIN (Deutsche Industrie Norman) is a metallurgical bonding on the connection is done in the melting or liquid state. In other words, the welding is the joining of two pieces of metal into one doneby way of heating or melting, where both ends of the object that will be spliced with eyes melt made the pin on the tool or the heat gained from the pins on the rounds a specified rpm. each specimen, material AISI 4140 steel is used with a diameter of 6 mm pin welding position horizontally (flat), the used temperature 70 ° c, 75 ° c, 80 °c, and a round of rpm used 400 rpm, 500 rpm, 700 rpm, in the execution of welding the welding method using FSW (Friction Stir Welding). Then pull the values taken on the area of welding. From the results of the research of pull, the value of the temperature of 75 ° c with round 700 rpm higher tensile strength of temperature of 70 ° cand 80 ° c.Keyword : Temperature, Rpm Spin, Friction Stir Welding, Welding, Surface Polypropilene.

Abstract

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a welding process that is promoted with little cost and good connection quality. That is because it does not need filler metal and can eliminate or minimize the number of cracks and porosity defects. The FSW principle uses tools that rotate and move across so that the material occurs forging at the center of the weld and finally melts. The FSW welding process variables are tool parameters and welding parameters. Welding parameters include rotational speed, tool slope, travel speed, shoulder penetration, probe penetration, probe shape and dimensions, shoulder shape and dimensions, material tools, and others. In this study, the effect of temperature variation of heating elements used in welding polyethylene (PE) material on tensile strength by tensile test is examined. From the tensile test data, it is found that the higher the temperature of the heating element during the FSW process, the feeding translation tool will increase and the tensile strength of the FSW joint results will also increase and vice versa. The lowest tensile strength occurs at temperatures of 0 ° C (without preheating) and 100 ° C (using preheating), namely 4.465 MPa and 14.25 MPa. The highest tensile strength occurs at heating element temperature of 140 ° C which is 24.71 MPa while the tensile strength of polyethlyene material without FSW connection is 29 MPa.Keyword : friction stir welding, feed rate, polyethylene, the tensile strength of welded joints.

Abstract

This research aims to improve production efficiency and product quality in the papaya sauce processing SMEs in Tuah Madani Village, Pekanbaru City, through the provision of an efficient papaya sauce mixer machine grant. These SMEs face challenges in the production process, still relying on manual methods, which lead to inconsistencies in product quality and low production capacity. This community service activity consists of two stages: socialization and the implementation of the papaya sauce mixer machine. The results of the socialization show an increase in participants' understanding of the machine technology, as measured through pre-test questionnaires. The average response indicated that 78% of the community agreed that the SMEs faced challenges such as reliance on manual stirring, limited knowledge of machines, inconsistent product quality, and difficulty in increasing production capacity. The post-test results revealed that 92% of the community agreed that the SMEs are now using a more efficient papaya sauce mixer machine, reducing dependence on manual labor, speeding up the production process, increasing both capacity and product quality, and receiving training on how to operate and maintain the machine effectively. Through the application of this technology, it is expected that the SMEs in Tuah Madani can enhance their product competitiveness, increase production capacity, and strengthen economic resilience amidst increasingly intense market competition. This technology is also expected to boost the economic activities of SMEs in a more effective and efficient manner.
